What is the difference between External Followed Links and Total External Links, why are the numbers different? Should the numbers not be the same? I have a difference of 24 links can anyone explain why?

Is there a typo in the hover text in SEOMoz Competitive Domain Analysis page?
For External Followed Links, it is: "Number of followed links from outside the source domain."
And for Total External Links, it is: "Total number of followed links from outside the source domain."
These seem to me to be the same thing. Should the latter be "Total number of followed and no followed..."?

When building a link you have the option to add a 'rel=NOFOLLOW' to the HTML. Follow links, which occur with and without the rel mark up are believed to be more powerful than a NOFOLLOW. However, you want a balance of external follow and nofollowed. Your question as to the difference in your Total External Links and External Folllowed Links is that 24 external links are NOFOLLOW.

I would guess that total links are the total number of links you have and the followed ones are those the bots follow and thusly credit as a backlink.

Best Methods - Link Building
We are having more and more "new" customers coming to us who have been hit by various algorithms imposed by google. After we have run a site health check and corrected everything, we plan and come up with a link development plan which suits the clients needs. Much of out link development work is safe comprising of; 1. Guest Blog Posts - where we develop creative content with the customer to publish. 2. Industry blog posts - where bloggers write about i.e. "the company" 3. Social media - posting pictures, commenting on forums, etc 4. Paid directories with authority We don't develop links in any other way and it brings results in the long term. Is anyone out there doing something else? Link building external trusted help out there?
Hi there guys and Girls, I am a newbie to the seo world but learning quickly. Unhappy with seo services offered for startups I have taken on the role myself for my website. I think so much of what can be learnt online here I can implement myself with a few hours of work each week. So my dilemma! I have lots of ideas of for content which i know will be valuable and I was considering outsourcing just for link building (the long haul work) The trouble is I am wary of who to use and if such service is out there? I have tried searching on o'desk and freelancer etc but I guess i am too frightened of spammy links or postings on irrelevant sites. I guess initially I am looking for someone who can help my link building campaign whilst I build up my own blogging contacts etc. Does anyone know if these types of services exist? and if any are recommended for small companies? Hi, If i hire a SEO company, what kind of links they will build for me. How fast is too fast when it comes to link building?
I'm getting ready to start a massive link building campaign. I plan on using a variety of anchor texts, getting links from a variety of sources, and only getting high quality links from relevant sites. My main concern is getting penalized for gaining too many links too quickly. Does anyone have any advice on how fast is too fast? Or how much is too much in a certain amount of time? Thanks!

This is the first time I've truly had to go out and build links. I'm looking for a reputable firm that builds high quality links to a high quality site. These links should be located on a page with high Page Rank/Page Authority and should also have high quality links pointing to the page.
