Problem with Plugin: Wordpress SEO by Yoast

Hi Hi,
I'm using the Plugin "Wordpress SEO by Yoast". Unfortunatelly, this plugin generates a sourcecode looking like this:
name='description' content='XXXXXX.'/>
Seomoz can't read this and tells me, that my pages have no description. Google doesn't matter and reads it correct. Is there anything I can do about this?

sorry, that I haven't answered for so long! Yes, it was the update! The version I used before was ages old...
Now it works fine!

Thanks, I'm viewing the source code now and it appears correct.
I would definitely update Yoast. Its great now, but the old version was known to break certain things.

And yes, the description is inserted in a Yoast-Formfield.
I have seen, that the Plugin has the Versionnumber 0.4.2. I think that version is very, very old. Maybe that is my problem and I will try an update before comlaining again...

What page type are you getting this on? Categories, tags, posts, pages? Every page?
Did you fill out the description templates under Yoast->Titles?
Its strange Moz does this and not Google. Can you provide your site or a screen shot of the source code (view source on your browser)?

many thanks for your answer, but I'm not sure, if I'm getting you right. I'm no programmer, so I don't know what "forcing rewrite" means. Do you think, I have to change the sourcecode in the plugin from ' to " ??
Maybe out there is another user of Yoast (I know there are... ;), who know this problem, too?

I am not an expert on this plugin by any means - but did you force rewrite? - or manually change in header.php? (or where ever the expression resides in your template) to the correct php expression to correctly re-write the meta?

I know that forcing re-write can have inconsistent results sometimes...

Need SEO Advice for different languages and How to optimize the page
Hello. Currently we have an ecommerce site that sells shoes online in France. The site is in English. Say the keyword is shoes and our page is example.com/shoes it;s perfectly fine to optimize that page for keyword of "shoes". Now, what about french keyword of shoes "chaussures" ? How do i optimize it? Should i create a different page or just edit the same page with keyword of "chaussures" in title tag etc? What is the best way to go about doing this? Thanks

Google Search - One page having problems
this issue is concerning my site - cruvoir.com we retail designer clothing online, and currently have 17 'designer' pages - one for each manufacturer brand name. We target these brand names for our campaign and track the progress with Moz and try to focus them in Google search. Of many of the designer names, we rank pretty well in Google search (usually under #15 when searching for the specific brand. All brands are doing well, except one brand : "Lost And Found" - a designer label we carry. This is the page for this brand name : https://cruvoir.com/5-lost-and-found we cannot figure it out. It happens to be our most important label we carry. when we search for this brand name or include it in any other search terms, we never are in the google search results. I expect it is a crawl issue, but we have covered all our ground in optimizing this brand page. It seems this page is also indexed with Google. But we cannot figure out why it does not rank us in search.

Wordpress blog duplicate issue

The permalink structure is set up as /%category%/%postname%/ which I want to change to just %postname% Obviously i want to make things as seo friendly as possible so any suggestions to do this right without losing any indexed pages etc. I have limited access to make changes to plugins etc aswell as these need to be done through the development company who manage our site. Does it make any difference to your SEO if the homepage infrequently updates.
Hi everyone! Working on a site and the homepage hardly ever updates. Probably 3/4 times per year. The only page on the site which does is the blog page which updates 4 times per week. Is this a bad thing? Is there anything I should attempt to do?

Canonical URL problem
On page analysis wanted me to add a canonical url tag. However I added then re ran the on page analysis and it came up with an error. What is the proper way to add a canonical url tag in the head of an index page? ie. add a canonical tag to www.hompeage.com/index.html would it be ? Or should I ignore this for a home page? Because I add it then run the analysis again and get this? Do you ever forget the SEO basics?
We all get a little sloppy at times. Just yesterday , someone pointed out that I accidentally blocked the robots from one of our primary pages, because it was being included in a wildcard match on one of the disallow commands in robots.txt. H1 tags the same on all pages - problem?
I generally use wordpress as a CMS and have the H1 tag coded in the header.php include file. This results as it being the same in all page - I normally do something like Keyword - Company name and set the company logo as the background and move the text off screen using text indent (CSS). Is having the same on every page a bad thing? I might be tricky to change so their all unique.
