Is it a reciprocal Link ?

Hi,
I found a great website and tought its content would be extremely interesting for our clients. I wrote about it on my blog (which has an URL with our website URL in it) , Facebook Page and even in Twitter.
Meanwhile, I contacted them and offered to write an article about an interesting subject for them. They accepted and liked it so much that they decided to put 2 links for us on two of their pages.
My questions are : Will this be a reciprocal link for Google? Did I make a mistake talking about them on my blog ? Did I «devaluate» the links they gave us?

I agree with Irving completely. I would also like to add:
1. Do your frequently link out the way you did for this website ? Do you link out to other websites that are useful to your website visitors ?
2. Similarly, the website that is linking to you with those 2 links, does every post on their website/blog have 1-2 outgoing links ? If not, then you are good.
Does that make sense ?

You didn't devalue the links at all IMHO. If the reciprocal links make sense and they are placed in sensible locations, then by all means you should have those links. Google is only looking for spam links and they can tell when the links are unnatural based on location, anchor text, quantity and other factors.

Any benefits to having Wikipedia links now they are 'no-followed' (apart from traffic and natural link prof.)
I see that Wikipedia outbound links are all no-followed, is there any benefit (aside from the traffic) for having links here now ? For example is their co-citation and co-occurance benefits. I know there is without the links since from seeing previous Moz content about this saying Google getting good at connecting brand/s and topic mentions on a page (without any links) so appreciate Wikipedia is still good for that sort of thing. And a no-followed link is obviously good for the potential traffic. But is there any additional SEO benefit to having a no followed link on a wikipedia entry/stub too ? (aside from its contribution to your no-followed links which in turn contribute to a natural looking link profile) Cheers Dan

Is this link Followed?
Hi All, Noticed this link in opensiteexplorer. Its not marked as no-follow, but not sure if this link would pass any value? http://goafrica.about.com/od/southafrica/a/selfdrivesa.htm Click on any external link, it takes you to a "preview" page from within the main website. Is this a false positive? As in it shows as a follow link, but when you actually click it, it doesnt redirect to the website. Any thoughts on this? Greg

Is a reciprocal link the same value as a non-reciprocal
So I just started a few weeks ago doing some linkbuilding for my photography site at http://danielvaladas.com I started by adding my site to some of the business directories recommended by SeoMoz + some local and specialized directories I found myself and from my competitors. I also sponsored a local charity in exchange for a link on their PR3 website and I wanted to blog on my site about this sponsorship. I am wondering if it is better to link back to them or not. Is this one way link of more value if I don't link back to them?

Changing links
Hi guys i wanted you views on changing the anchor text of links. I have quality links coming in but with year terms such as 2012 in there, if i want to change them all to 2013 for example would it be badly seen by Google? I cant say i feel comfortable about doing it but they are my links and are related to our products. Any advice much appreciated.

Reciprocal Link Exchanges?
I have a spanky new website with absolutely no incoming links at all. Someone suggested a link exchange site (LinkMarket.com). But I thought that doing reciprocal links was being penalized by Google. Does anyone know if link exchange works, and if so, what the best link exchange sites are? Thanks, Dan
