|Hi . I had a report of 302 temporary redirects when SEO moz did a simulated site crawl.
This is an example of the address of one of the many 302 temporary redirect errors which I think consume link juice or have some type of negative effect on SEO.

Since it is a live link I cannot seem to redirect it with a 301 redirect in the redirect manager. Is there anything I can do to handle these temporary redirects. They only are appearing now since I reactivated my reviews and I am concerned about the SEO effect that this may soon have.

I've got the same problem with the 302 redirects and the "review helpful?" issue in Volusion. Did you figure out how to make these links "no follow" in Volusion?

Well, the nofollow tag doesn't consume any link juice, but it will save your "crawl allowance" - this means you want to cut back on Google crawling unnecessary links and pages. And since all those "review" links point to a login page, this can be seen as a low-value page.

Thanks Cyrus. I thought that I had read somewhere that the nofollow tag would consume link juice in that the flow of link juice would be interrupted and not circulate back through the site whereas the noindex follow would prevent indexing but conserve link juice.
I do not see a way to be able add tags to these particular pages in volusion and support at volusion seems to think these pages will not be crawled anyway

Without having much direct knowledge of Volusion, Ben appears to be correct. Since the links are being generated by the "leave a review" links, you don't really want these followed anyway.
Where you are thinking of adding the "NOINDEX, FOLLOW" or canonical tags?

Thanks Ben. I am also looking into the possibilty of using the "noindex,follow" tag or the "canonical" meta tag. What is your opinion on these and would these meta tags be added in the meta tags overide section. I actually do not see a way to add meta tags for the review helpful page within volusion. I do see a way that a met tag overide can be added for email a friend.

I have a client in Volusion as well. You need to go into the link on the page for leaving a review and add a "rel="nofollow" " tag to the link. This will solve your 302's.
I did the same thing to the "email a friend" option on the product pages and it solved that issue.

Redirect question
Hi Everyone I've tried searching elsewhere in these forums for an answer to this but not having much luck - hope I'm not duplicating content! I get this message in Moz: "We have detected that the domain NappyValleyNet.com redirects to www.nappyvalleynet.com. We do not recommend tracking a redirect URL. Would you like to track www.nappyvalleynet.com for this campaign instead?" Is this a set-up issue on my side? I'm not sure what this means? Thank you!

URL Question
This url looks bad: http://www.patrickmunoz.com/#!classes/c1vw1 And when you click around the page change doesn't actually occur, it's a fade into the next page. I think this is a major problem for rankings. Redirect closing established site to another established site.
We have 2 ecommerce websites with duplicate product/category content that have been around for years. "Site A" since 2004 and "Site B" since 2011. "Site B" doesn't generate many sells and we want to close the site in fear that it may look spammy to google and since we don't want to upkeep the site. Couple questions:

1. Is it possible that "Site B" has damaged "Site A" with google since they are so similar?
2. Can i 301 redirect all of "Site B" to "Site A" without hurting "Site A"?
3. If question 2 is ok, should i use the "Change of Address" tool in google webmaster tools to point "Site B" to "Site A"? Thanks!0 -
Usability-question on 2 of my websites
Hi all, It has been a while since I have been in this forum, but that's normally a great sign 🙂 Anyway these days I'm work on a "face-lift" on a couple of my sites (www.krydsord.dk, www.bingoforum.dk and www.alutagrender.dk), but also this face-lift should be more than just that. Hopefully it will help the usability to be better, and as a result of that - I hope it will make it easier for my visitors to easily find what they are looking for. The question is: I would like to ad, say, 25 words of description (mouse-over) in my top menu buttons. Why? Because, I believe that it's a possible problem that the menu just says "krydsord" (crosswords) in stead of a describing text saying something about "Push this button and you will see a complete list of all the cross words on Krydsord.dk). This way, I get the chance to add more text (for the Search Engines) and to guide my visitors in a way that I'm not capable of with the limitations my top menus give me as they are at this moment. Naturally, my visitors should be able to easily decline this "extra information", once they have got it once. Is this completely way off, or do you like the idea? More specifically: Will this be annoying for the visitors, will it have any positive effect on SEO matters? Actually I got partly inspired during a SEOmoz webinar (http://www.seomoz.org/webinars/designing-for-seo), even though it's not exactly what they are talking about in thwe webinar. I have a direct question about file structure.
This question is about a new file structure and SEO friendly URL's. Does a file name make a difference? I have a direct question about file structure. Our old site was formated with a URL of http://rousechamberlin.com/about_us.aspx our new site is structured http://rousechamberlin.com/AboutUs/ no file no extension. As the SEO guy of the company and not the programmer my feeling is this is killing us. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
