Keyword analysis - error with difficulty %
-
Hello everyone!
Edge of all, I like and I use very often the "Keyword analysis" tool . However, recently, I have some difficulty to rely on the difficulty % of the keywords I've added. As an example I entered as keywords for a french speaking client, words with a geographical reference. It gives me a percentage too high because I am almost convinced that it would probably not be difficult to work with.
My question is: is there any known errors with keywords georeferenced French (google canada - english) and also what to trust when I want proof of the difficulty of a keyword in case of some errors may occur in the tool.

Thanks for following up with me. As I mentioned, the keyword difficulty score is actually based primarily on the websites that are already ranking for the site and how hard it would be to knock those pages out of the top 10 results. If the pages ranking for that keyword, even if the search volume for that keyword is low, it would be difficult to beat the pages that are already ranking.
For example, the keyword "clinique visuelle chibougamau" is considered to be a competitve keyword because there are several sites ranking for that keyword that have a very high domain authority (http://screencast.com/t/Y1SiElwUbGd) and several that have a moderately high domain authority (http://screencast.com/t/vtIlKWyLT), so it would be very difficult to push those pages out of the rankings because powerful sites tend to dominate these results and links in quantity and quality (at both the domain and page level) are required to earn top ranking to push those site out of the rankings.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

First of all, thank you for your help
My keywords are :
-
clinique visuelle chibougamau
-
ajustement verres de contact chibougamau
-
clinique d'optométrie roberval
These three words all finishes by a word that is the city (and its a VERY small city) so im not sure that the difficulty % is really around 45%
I've selected Google Canada - French

Hi There,
Thanks for writing in. We do index French pages and the tool uses domain and page authority plus the mozrank/moztrust of the top 10 results to create a difficulty score on an algorithmic scale. When you run a report in the Keyword Difficulty tool, we provide the authority information for the top 10 pages. If you let me know the keyword you are looking at, I can take a look at the top 10 results and let you know if the percentage seems accurate.

The tool calculates the top 10 pages mozrank/moztrust and creates a % average. I am not sure if SEOmoz indexes pages in france.
I like to manually look at the SERP and see who is ranking and try to figure out why. This gives me a good idea of how challenging the project will be,.

Unsolved Getting keywords to rank on new landing pages
I've built new landing pages for a website, and have loaded them with researched keywords in the content, alt image attributes and metas etc - but, after a number of crawls, the keywords are currently being matched to other existing web pages on the website. Does anyone have any advice on 'unlatching' these keywords from these pages, and instead getting them to match with pages that have been optimised for them? Many thanks!

Understanding how moz grades webpage and Keyword stuffing
Hi friends i have few questions about how moz ranks webpage. I just started so i looked only on front page of my website And i have grade A and few problems 1. Keyword stuffing. I can not understand how moz page grade tool runks page? does it looks source and counts all keywords? I have menu with 46 countries in which have keyword like "Freight forwarding - England" and so on. May be this is the problem? because if i search in chrome i just see 9 keywords but in source 100. But removing menu does not reduce number of keywords. So i can not understand what should i remove. An we made these pages for adwords campaign us landing pages for targeted keywords. The keyword is : Kravu pārvadājumi (freight forwarding) 2. On page grade shows i have too many links on page like 103. Does it count menus? Is it so bad? 3. what moz crawls for links, Google or my page? because i see duplicated content like vervo.lv and vervo.lv/lv. But if you try to write vervo.lv/lv it redirects to vervo.lv so how it is possible to resolve? What Should i do else if redirect does not help. on the moment page have 3 languages and main language is Latvian, webpage: http://vervo.lv/ Thanks for help.

Keyword report
What's the purpose of the keyword difficulty report? I've typed in some of my keywords and discoverd their "highly competetive." As if I didn't already know this. 😉 The question is, what do I do about it?

High level of 404 client errors
My clients website is an e-commerce based website, where customers can go on and buy products etc from the website. I placed the website onto seomoz and it cam eback with something like 18,000 errors, mostly 404 client errors, when I checked to see what the URL was from, it was a summary of an order to a client who just purchased something from the website, this was the case for alot of the errors. So i am wondering, will this harm the site's optimisation or any other part of it? and how can I get rid of these errors? Many Thanks Charlene

Competitive analysis of inbound links
I am trying to figure out how to best use SeoMoz tools to do some competitive analysis of inbound links. With the site explorer tool I can "compare Link Metrics" I see that a competitor is beating me on External Followed Links and Total Linking Root domains. I want to dig further into this data and see how these are distributed. What I am really after is which root domains are sending them the most links. Knowing that 20k of their links are coming from 5 specific root urls would be great to know. Is there anywhere that I can see this data. Ideal column headers would be: Linking Root Domain of Followed Links (from this root domain) Linking Domain Authority The ability to drill down from there into specific links would be mind blowing. Is there any way to browse this type of data in SeoMoz?

Tracking Local Keywords in Campaigns.
When selecting keywords to track in campaign mode, how should I enter the keywords for a company located in a city that shares the same name as another city in a different state? My assumption is that if you're searching for "Garden City Plumber" within Garden City Michigan that Google will know your IP and show local results (as opposed to results from Garden City California). If I want to track the key phrase "Garden City Plumber" in campaign mode how will SEOMoz know which city to deliver results for? Thanks in advance.
