Google Places Zoom level question
-
One of my clients (a dealership) has 2 google places listings. One for their actual dealership and one for their parts and service dept (they are separate buildings 5-10 mins away from each other). When you search for their name "Westchester Toyota" both in web and maps the only result is for the parts and service building. Both listings are active and verified (and both are in good standings). The weirder part is that if you take that same search in maps "Westchester Toyota" zoom out a few levels and search again Boom both listings appear... Not only that but the main stores listing is places as listing A.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever had this issue and has a solution? I believe on the initial search Google is deeming the parts and service listing as the dominant listing (which is why it zooms in so far) but then Google throws me for a loop making the real listing the "A" when you zoom out. Note: The main listing is closer to Westchester, NY.
Any insight is appreciated!

Hi Tony,
Unfortunately, I'm unable to replicate the odd thing you're seeing with the zooming out and re-searching allowing the main listing to appear. All Google will show me is the Parts & Service department listing on the map.
When I actually used your geo-modifier 'westchester toyota yonkers ny' in traditional search, I see both listings coming up, with the main listing being A and the service department being B, but if I remove the geo modifier, I only see the service department. Agree, this is odd, particularly since your main listing has so many more reviews than the other one does.
I'm seeing identical results when I remove the geo term and set my location to Yonkers.
I honestly can't think of another instance in which I've seen the zoom behavior you've described in Maps, but it's clear from the organic searches that, for some reason, Google is viewing your Parts&Service department as the more authoritative listing. My recommendation would be to communicate with Google via this form:
http://support.google.com/places/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1386120&page=ts.cs
And see if it takes you to their new data issues phone number, in which case, you might be able to get an insider to look at the situation. Sorry not to be able to resolve this, but there is some reason why Google is favoring one page over the other, and I can't determine what that is.
Hope this suggestion helps!

Website Name Before Search String in Google SERP
I'm curious to hear whether it's better to have your company name before the Search String, or after it?When I search for Church Management Software in Google, some results place the company before the string.

Google+ Pages and an unknown owner...how do I claim it or get it removed?
Hello, I am working on a clients social networking campaign and have found a Google+ page for their company. It looks like it was created approx a year ago. The client doesn't know who created it or what account has control of it in their network. I need to make a Google+ page for them so I can use it in their marketing that I can actually access. I was wondering if anyone has any insight on how I can either: Find the owner/email that is associated with the Google+ Page? or Have it removed so I can create a fresh one? which I know I can report the page as compromised but will that work in a timely manner? Please any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated, and thanks!! 🙂 Jeff

Facebook, Google Plus - What to share/like?
Hi everybody! We are planning to offer an incentive to all our customers who interact with us on social media websites. What's the most important thing to ask from a customer? Facebook to like our Facebook business page or to like our own website through Facebook? to just follow us on Facebook or to actually comment / interact on our wall? Google + to +1, share, add to circle our Google+ business webpage or to +1 or share our own website? So basically what do we need to promote most? Our Facebook / Google+ business pages or our own website through social media marketing? While we understand it's important to actually interact with the customers and offer value on social media websites, we are looking to boost our SEO efforts. Thank you!

Google Places Pending for months..
We are a franchise with over 80 locations. We have bulk uploaded all our places pages and all but 15 of them have been approved...this was over 2 months ago!!! Any idea why the final 15 will not stop "Pending Review"?? Google has been no help!(of course) It seems the information is correct across Yelp! CitySearch, and Yahoo Local... Any ideas?
