Hi Tim,
We recommend Wordpress for all non ecomm sites and Joomla/Magento for the ecomm ones. Wordpress with all their plugins is very SEO friendly as well as a user friendly interface in the backend .
We tried it for e-comm sites as well however had a very bad experience when the client wanted to customize the e-comm solution on the wordpress platform.
Cheers,

We switched over from joomla to wordpress for the following site which we are still working on. http://www.cheapflightsgatwick.com/
We are still working on the site but we have used it as a learning curve where we bought a template and then we have customized it which we are still doing.
I have been contemplating switching our site www.in2town.co.uk to wordpress but not really sure if it is wise or not.
We are hiring a developer to update the template in the next couple of weeks and i have been talking if we should stay with joomla or move to wordpress and if we did move to wordpress would we lose all of our link juice and pages that we have, which we have thousands of them.

Tim,
We only use Wordpress for all of our non-ecommerce sites. It is so much more than just a blogging platform/cms now. It is very robust with millions supporting the Wordpress community and building plugins. There are also many premium plugins and themes that are excellent right off the shelf and wordpress can be completely customized so that it doesn't look like a template at all. With the right plugin it is very SEO friendly and most themes are responsive that are coming out now and so it is great for mobile. I used Joomla before we switched to WP and we haven't looked back. Just try it and you will love it too!

The answer is ... it depends.
If you're going to be writing blogs, then Wordpress is hands-down better because it has a ton of plugins that make writing blogs (and all the tasks related to them) super easy. It also can be integrated into a "regular"site transparently. Here's an example of a WordPress blog embedded into our main site:
www.morningsiderecovery.com/blog/
On the other hand, if you do no blogging at all, then Joomla has much to offer and is also pretty easy to use. You can find many templates online and build a perfectly lovely looking site quite easily. Here's an example of that approach:
All of that having been said, there are companies that run very large sites that have almost zero blog features but are built with WordPress as the underlying structure.
Another aspect to consider is who will be managing / maintaining your site. If you anticipate hiring for this, you might want to see where the labor pool is more plentiful and where it is easier to get skilled staff who can maintain your site.
Best of success to you in your new effort.

How do I fix a broken link to a product category page in wordpress?
We are building a new site currently at http://67.222.109.48/~cheapnan/ I started doing some SEO after the developer I hired failed to do it even though it was in the agreement. I did our old site so I should be able to do this but I am new to wordpress. Now when i go to the products tab at the top of the page the first 2 have broken links, I checked the rest and there are 3 total that I need to fix. I am unsure how to access the navigation so I can fix the links. Please tell me where to look.

Wordpress Overly Dynamic URLs
Moz is giving me an overly dynamic URL warning for around 30 or so of these on our blog. http://blog.domain.com/?page=products&do=domain-com-looks-like-a-blog-title I have no idea what's causing this, we have the permalinks set up for category/post and are running yoast. Anyone have any idea what it is? And how can I stop them being crawled. They link to the blog homepage when clicked, which is set to canonical in the head so it shouldn't do any harm - but i'd like to remove them all the same. Will /Disallow /?=page work in robots.txt?

Wordpress Duplicate Pages/ URL's - Help !
Hi guys, I have been running SEOMoz for just over a month and slowly cleaning up one of my Wordpress Blogs. While going through the crawl reports I have noticed that I have duplicate pages showing on the crawl. For example, the main post would be; www.xxxxx.com/blog/post-title Then I see another URL which would be; **www.xxxx.com/blog/page/59 ** When I click on either URL it goes back to the actual post title URL. What's with these page URL's ? Isn't these two URL's showing duplicate content to the search engines ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Meta Title and Description Placement in Wordpress
I noticed in wordpress code that the <title>and <description> are not at the top of the code and rather located a ways down the code and not displayed how previous sites used to be.</p> <p>Does this still matter for SEO.</p> <p>I thought it should have been,</p> <div id="syn_row5" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span><span class="HTML_TAG"></<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_ROW"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Description"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Keywords"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /> (if still needed ?)</span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> </span></span></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG">Is there a way to do this in Wordpress? How to Integrate a Wordpress Blog into my Website
We are looking at integrating a blog into our website. Unfortunately, our content management system is very clunky and not set up to quickly publish blog style content. I'd like to use Wordpress and set up the blog as a subdomain of my company website. Our URL is www.blockandcompany.com so the blog URL would be www.blog.blockandcompany.com. Is it correct to say that if the blog is set up this way, the search engines will see the regular website and the Wordpress hosted blog as one big site? I want to use the blog to write keyword-rich content, but I don't want to divide my SEO "equity" between two separate sites. Any advice?
