Rich snippets advice for review products and services
-
hi, i am trying to get my head around the rich snippets for review products and services. I already use it for articles but it seems you have to do it different when it comes to review products.
i have been reading this page https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/146645
but i cannot understand it.
i am trying to use the following page from my site as a test but i am totally confused
http://www.in2town.co.uk/benidorm-hotel-reviews/presidente-hotel-review-in-benidorm
if anyone has used this or knows how to do it then i would really appreciate some advice

Hi Tim,
if you are creating rich-snippets I would also like to recommend using this
From the guys raven tools
http://schema-creator.org/ (Click to the left of website to create any of these things)
Like reviews here
http://schema-creator.org/review.php
Read
http://raventools.com/blog/free-schema-creator/
I would strongly suggest using Google + with Authorship as well for your profile you don't seem to have that in place
If you scroll down you will see authorship is NOT enabled this is hurting you I would any using this set of instructions

I hope this is helpful to you,
Thomas

Good job I can see the
Published in Benidorm Hotel ReviewsTagged under
Part and google will rank you for hotel reviews I would look up more on Html 5Use this to test http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
-
It is used in HTML5 by default and will help google determine what is what more and more.
As of now it helps to show people the star rating a quick good/bad check The photos help you standout in googles SERPS People might just search reviews only if looking for hotels. The use of Rich snippets will help your site a lot. So you can wright reviews of your Own and then use Rich snippets to allow people to rank itUsing on your site & G+ soon I have heard Hope this helps,Thomas

'sameAs' Mark up for different spellings of a Product/Keyword, is it possible?
Hi There, I've seen that for social media profiles you can mark them up to be the 'sameAs', example below: - <code><scripttype="application ld+json"="">{ "@context":"http://schema.org", "@type":"Organization", "name":"Your Organization Name", "url":"http://www.your-site.com", "sameAs":[ "http://www.facebook.com/your-profile", "http://www.twitter.com/yourProfile", "http://plus.google.com/your_profile" ] }</scripttype="application></code> My question is can you do something similar for your product/keyword? For example when you can spell the word in different ways e.g. Whisky (English) or Whiskey (Irish/US). I've had a look at schema.org but I'm not sure if I'm headed down the wrong path? Thanks

Best SEO service/process to harness the power of quality backlinks?
What/who would you recommend for those looking for a strategy around realizing the benefits of high quality back links? We have tons of earned links from DA 90+ sites, but don't think we are realizing the full benefit due to onsite issues. We have scraper sites outranking us. Would it be a technical on page audit? Any guidance appreciated.

Local Search: Technically optimised for Reviews & Stars, but not showing in SERPS
Hi, for over a year now we actively use schema.org into our yellow pages platform.
Technical SEO | | TruvoDirectories
Simultaneaously we managed to set up a review platform to attract more users to write reviews. We also monitor closely local search experts like (blumenthal and co 😉 ). So I learned in this post http://blumenthals.com/blog/2013/07/19/how-many-reviews-to-get-the-star-treatment-somewhere-between-4-and-5/ that it takes you 4-5 reviews to get the star treatment by Google. But at this moment, I cannot find any star treatment. For example on this listing http://www.goudengids.be/hollywok-kortrijk-kortrijk-8500/1/ you can notice the presence of 6 review (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.goudengids.be%2Fhollywok-kortrijk-kortrijk-8500%2F1%2F) but in Google itself it is not displayed as such. So my question is: in your experience, are there any other parameters that will trigger the stars to appear?0 -
Duplicate Content - Products
When running a report it says we have lots of duplicate content. We are a e-commerce site that has about 45,000 sku's on the site. Products can be in multiple departments on the site. So the same products can show up on different pages of the site. Because of this the reports show multiple products with duplicate content. Is this an issue with google and site ranking? Is there a way to get around this issue?

Certain product ranking higher than category (ecommerce)
Hi all, I'm a bit stumped on a SERP. The product is ranking higher than the actual category. Is there anyway to fix this? When I type in "category111", I get the product link instead of a link to the general category. It would be "productname category111" and link would point to product not category. Hope that makes since! TIA

Domain targeting advice needed please
I would be interested in hearing the views of other seomozers on this issue please. I have a web server hosted in The Netherlands which I currently host my sites on, it is super fast (16core 24gb ram) and in 8 months has had 4 mins of downtime! On this server I wish to build a couple of ecommerce stores. However this is where my issue lays The first store I launch will be targeted at the UK market, however the domain I wish to use for it is a .com domain which has a moz ranting of about 36 (better than most of my competitors, worse than a few so it's a good headstart). The problem I would then have is a .com domain hosted on a Dutch server targeting UK people. Even if I was to set the webmaster tools location to UK it would not be ideal. Also, when it comes to launching the US site I would then be looking at using a .us domain which is far from ideal The other option I have is to use the .co.uk domain for the UK site but this is new and lack any decent moz score. Given this I am now pondering the following set up....using the .com domain on the Dutch server but putting the UK store in domain.com/UK and the future usa store in domain.com/usa. Would this be the best work around? I could then set the location of folders in the webmaster tools? Also, I plan on using geo redirecting on the domain so if a uk page happens to rank in the USA listings the user gets automatically redirected to the nearest matching product available in their country in the /us/ folder. Would this be easiest to work with on just one domain as it wouldn't technically be redirecting people to another site as per using two domains. Any thoughts would be good. Not even sure I have managed to explain it very clearly hehe
