Good Example of Local Pages With Multiple Services
-
Can I get a site that is well optimized and has a good landing page for a business that serves multiple regions with multiple services.
For example they may have construction and mold removal services and serve Indianapolis, Columbus Ohio, Louisville Ky.
-
It depends how much good content you can create.
If you can create great content, then having a single service per page might be the best approach. But the content needs to be unique enough across not only services, but your locations as well.
As far as looking for more guidance, read How do I build the perfectly optimized page? by Rand Fishkin - with your keywords being your location and service. Then read The 2013 Local Search Ranking Factors to figure out how to get your page to rank in the local results. And for fun you can take a look at The 2013 Local Search Ecosystems to get a complete understanding of how the different local directories interact with each other.
My best advice is to try it out... if it works, GREAT. If it doesn't, try something else. It is very rare that you will hit a homerun on the first try. So document your steps and processes and figure out what works for you. OR try different approaches on each of your locations and see what is working best and adopt the best practices to the other locations (if that makes sense).
Hope this helps.

Noah - you can do either or just make sure the page content offers value and is unique content. You can put your sales message above the fold if you want. That's usually the way I handle it.

There is a great recorded webinar on this topic here: http://www.brightlocal.com/2013/07/19/advanced-onsite-local-seo-techniques/
It covers all the do's and dont's for optimization pages for local, but for single location and multi location businesses.
I also offer an example ideal local landing page here:
-
I see so many varied methods and a lot of them look to be done incorrectly yet they out rank me at times.
Would I set up 1 page for each city, with info on all of the services? Or 1 page for each city and service. So Columbus would have 2 pages, one for construction, one for mold
-
Ideally you'd want to have different landing pages for each Indianapolis, Columbus Ohio, and Louisville KY.
You'd do onpage optimization on each of those landing pages for your service and the location (including the physical address and phone number of your office location), as well as offpage optimization in the business directories on GetListed.org.
As far as examples, you should analyze your competitors that are winning in your space and improve upon what they are already doing to get to where they are.
Hope that helps.

Video page duplicates (that aren't really duplicates)
Hi. My company has a 1000 videos, each of the videos appear on their own page that follows the same template. The title is of course different / videos linked to / etc. Google is reporting them as "duplicate content". What should I do to differentiate these pages enough so that google can recognized that they are different pages?.

How can I improve my search results for local pages?
My test for this specific example is http://www.mylocalgaragerepair.com This client is trying to reach out for the local terms such as garage door repair for Temecula and other cities in riverside county. I build the following page. http://www.mylocalgaragerepair.com/temecula-garage-door-repair-temecula-garage-door-service/ What am I doing wrong? Is there some plugin's or other type things that would help my rank locally? If you solve this you've solved one of the main problems I'm having with my business. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Once you start fixing Local citations with correct NAP, is it normal for your rankings to plunge at first?
I strongly believe that I have received the most solid Local advice I could from these forums and have started (in just a few days) to make the needed corrections. At the same time I'm somewhat excited and optimistic that it will be a long journey but that it's a learning process. About 5 days ago, I set my website up with "City landing pages" and I started plundering through google, fixing and claiming and correcting as many citations as I could with correct NAP. The journey still continues today as I just got my Bing Local card in the mail and verified. I went to check my rankings on Google Maps, just to see if anything had changed and sure enough it had. My listing had been holding strong at page 10 (which drives me nuts) and now after 5 days of solid work its on page 18. I have to assume that because I'm stirring the dust perhaps Google is confused and maybe in a month or so things might start moving the other way? Thoughts?

Can you get in trouble/get results by sub-dividing one physical address into suites for local search?
We have a client in our area that offers a multitude of home services -- plumbing, HVAC repair, landscaping, etc. -- out of one physical location. It makes it difficult for them to rank highly for all of their services in local search since many of the competitors that rank highly only offer one of the services that they do. They have come to me asking if they could create a Google place page for each service by making imaginary suites for their main address. So, for example, plumbing would be located at 100 Main Street, Suite A; and HVAC repair would be located at 100 Main St., Suite B; etc.? Seems like this is either a great idea or could get you into some Google trouble. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Thanks

Local SEO... use 800 # or local, use full-street name or abbreviation?
Couple local SEO questions... Do you feel it’s better to submit a listing with the full type of street rather than an abbreviation? Google Places sometimes disassociates data because of small differences like this. Below is an example: Full Name: 123 Broadway Street

Abbreviation: 123 Broadway St. Also, I’m wondering if you feel it’s better to submit a local number versus an 800 number. I've modified many local listings for clients manually with an 800 number, but then there are other data sources for these same businesses that are displaying the local number. I am starting to use UBL/LocalEZE and are wondering what people have seen working best... local number or 800 number. Thanks!0 -
Has anyone created a top (Insert # Here) list of local business listing sites?
Has anyone created a top (Insert # Here) list of local business listing sites we should manually submit to? I have around 20 or so but I was wondering if someone could give me a list to cross reference. I have quite a few local business that I work with and I want to make sure I'm hitting all of the main local listings. I also spend time searching for niche listing sites too for each client, so if you have any suggestions on easier ways to find these as well, I'm game. If you have created a list and its out in the wild somewhere I will be happy to link to it from my site. I'm always open to giving some LL to helpful people. Who's up for building a tool that will search through X number of local directories and report back to you if you are listed or not. (Not getlisted.org) You can select a checklist of sites that you want to check. (; Thanks Aaron
