Company's Official Facebook Page Doesn't Appear In SERP
-
Hi,
Our official company's facebook page doesn't appear at all, in all serp.
I'll elaborate all in details here below.
We have an official Arabic Company Facebook page with more than 1.9k likes, the page itself is very active and constantly being updated by a person in charge of the Facebook page.
We also have an official English Company Facebook page - runs and operated in the same method mentioned above.
when I search for my company's BRANDNAME in google.com.sa - both official facebook pages (arabic + english) don't appear in the serp. I've went through all the way to end of the results pages - I couldn't find both pages anywhere.
On the other hand, when I search for the brand name + facebook, like this: BRANDNAME Facebook
I can find both Arabic and English facebook pages in the 1st page one right after the other.
Anyone can help me out here? I'm desperate for solution.
Thanks

Hi Joni
How about these other things;
- does your facebook page have any backlinks in addition to your own site (you can check in open site explorer)
- are you using the open graph tags?
- can you find your facebook pages in other countries? (try google.com google.ca google.co.uk google.com.au)
- for google.com.sa are you viewing in English or Arabic?
- try copying and pasting a snippet of text from your facebook page (like a sentence or two) and search for that in quotes in google.com.sa - does it return your facebook page?
- try also searching for: [brandname -site:yourdomain.com] - a search for your brand excluding your own site
Let me know about those!

Hi Dan.
Thank you for your response, I appreciate your help.
Our Google+ pages, Facebook pages and YouTube channels are reciprocally linked to our website (crawlable, of course). Both facebook pages contain the brand name in the URL.
I would appreciate more suggestions. What would you suggest to concentrate on doing?
-
Hi There - I too am shooting in the dark here a little without having the exact page, but I understand you not being able to share it.
One, is do you have any back links built to the facebook page?
Two, is are you reciprocally linking to/from the website and facebook profile? Are the links on the website crawlable etc?
Are you using the facebook open graph tags on your website?
Do you have a Google Plus Business profile setup - and from that profile, linking out to your company website as well as the facebook profile? Same for YouTube?
Lastly, did you set up a clean URL for the facebook page with the brand name?

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to expose my company's official Facebook page's title.I did check the 'about us' pages both in English and Arabic and they are not copy-pasted/duplicated.
This is really frustrating, as I can't understand why the company's official Facebook page doesn't appear for the search results of our BRANDNAME.
While I was rereading my initial question I've noticed that I forgot to mention an important thing:
In google.com.sa, when searching for our BRANDNAME , the 4th result is a Facebook HATE-PAGE someone had opened. (The page has only 29 likes and something like 15 posts). What could be the variables causing this issue, and what do we need to do to resolve it and get our official Facebook pages on the first page results?
-
Having access to the actual facebook pages would help us discover what's wrong with it. Right now, it sounds like your Facebook page is in the supplemental index for your BRANDNAME. Does the Facebook page provide information that is different from the website or is it all the same? e.g. Is the "About Us" section copy/pasted from the website?
Can't get more specific without more specifics =/

Page optimised and SEO ranking
Hi SEO is new to myself and I'm still trying to get my head round it. My friend and myself run a DJ company in our spare time but we are desperately trying to rank higher to increase our visibility. we have worked hard on our page optimisation and scoring high 90's, we'd love to invest in someone to do it, but simply dont have that kinda cash at the moment. I'm aware that some pages need meta description and alt image text, which is what I'm now working on, but even other sites with lower percentage are ranking higher. is this due to recent changes and google not ranking our pages? Will our ranking improve over time and how long should it be before we see any changes.

Advice on how to improve our Facebook movement
Hello, We recently launched our facebook page found here. Our website is here. We give away 30% of our products and we donate to help bees, wolves, and people discovering themselves. I am wondering how, without spending too much money (we have some money) or for free to improve our Facebook campaign. We sell orgonite, art-like devices that absorb negative electromagnetic waves and help heal people with health conditions. We also are soon launching a little known powerful mineral supplement campaign (MMS - Master Mineral Supplement) to help people with cancer in return for donations if and only if it helps a lot. Our budget for that post is $100. Let me know how we can, for free or little money, improve what we're doing. Any advice is appreciated. We're trying to do a lot of good for the community. Thank you.

The brand drop down doesn't seem to be appearing for any brands in google.com.hk. Is it something which needs to be set up and registered, or automatically rolled out by Google?
In google.com.hk SERPs the brand drop down doesn't seem to be appearing for any brands. Is it something which needs to be set up and registered, or automatically rolled out by Google? And if so is Google just slow rolling out in this part of the world? Thanks

Google is sticking it to E-commerce Companies right?
Hi all, Excuse the rant - but I'd be interested to hear others thoughts on this... I am completely disheartened by the Google Algorithm updates of the last 18 months. They seem to be completely geared up to making life much much harder for E-commerce companies to rank organically, and much easier for informational sites to rank organically, with the only exception being national or global brands that have millions of pounds to invest in off-line marketing like TV advertising. Is it not all a devious strategy by Google to ensure e-commerce companies have to pay for their traffic? It seems like if you genuinely want to compete organically as an e-tailer, without investing millions in off-line advertising, you basically have to become a publishing house as well as shop. My company sells building supplies. There are plenty of magazines and info-sites out there offering tips, advice, interactive tools etc. for how to build your own home, home improvement advice etc. But if I want to start getting 'natural' links, I have to become an online magazine and information resource as well and start competing with these other reputable info-resources - where is the sense in that? If house-builders want advice and information on building regulations, planning permission etc. they'll visit government information sites and other reputable online resources to get that information, if they want to buy materials they'll go to a shop. It just seems like Google is trying to make every site an information resource - how else are you supposed to get natural links without publishing 'sharable' information - no-one shares links to products really, well not building materials anyway - maybe sexy products like ferrari cars and super-duper laptops or sound systems, but no one is going to go "oh that's a really nice piece of timber, I'll share that with all my friends before I buy it". Just feels like it's getting harder and harder and more and more expensive to trade online. What's everyone else think? Luke

Should I put my "brand" in every one of my posts / pages?
I've heard different thoughts on this and wanted to see what you the seomoz group thought. I have been leaving my "brand" out of my titles so I could create longer titles (without my "brand" taking up precious space.) I've also read that adding your brand can take away from the words you want to optimize for in the title / post. I've read other places that you want your brand in every page title to "strengthen" your brand. Long story short, I'm trying to figure out if I should add my brand to the my page / post titiles, or leave them as is. Feel free to check out my site and current title template if you'd like. Thanks!

Should your company's name be in the title tag of your website?
First of all, I would like to provide some background information. Our company is small. We are just now getting into SEO research and have been improving over a couple months of research. We are somewhere in the 500,000's in the world rankings. From what I understand, the title tag provides a great amount of weight to whatever keywords you set up. The words in the title tag are supposed to represent keywords that you want to be high in the search engines for, correct? Well, in our title tag, we have the name of our company. To me, this is a waste of space. No one is going to go to Google and search for our company's name because we are not that widely known. Looking back at our search history for customers, there has not been a single search for the company name. What someone is telling me, is that when we put our link somewhere, having the name of our company in the title tag strengthens the "link juice" we get from those links. Is this correct, or is it worth trashing the company name for another keyword to optimize?

Facebook Like my website or fan page??
Should I want people facebook liking my website or my fan page? Is there a way to link the two? Here is my dilemma... People liking my website will obviously have an effect on rankings within bing and google possibly. BUT - People liking my fan page will allow me to engage with them in the future about givaways, sales and so on. I'm stuck, is there a way to link these? Or if not, which do you recommend?

Developing location pages
I need to expand our service offering to another city and focus our SEO efforts to that new location. Would it be best to purchase a new domain name and make a new website very similar to the existing website so we can better target the search engines? Same look and feel as the existing website. Or would it be better to create a landing page for the new location on the existing website to help stengthen the current domain name? If so, how do i focus the SERPs to the new location when the existing website is so focused around my current location?
