I'm tired of logging in to MOZ
-
I like this site, I really do, which is why I visit multiple times a day. But I grow weary of these premium sites that require me to log in multiple times a day. This morning I was simultaneously working at ordercup.com, strengthcoach.com, and moz.com, and all three log me out at every turn. Argh!!! What's worse is that some MOZ pages think I'm logged in and others don't. I don't fully understand the logic behind the curtain, so I wander from page to page trying to get the login in sync. Why can't these sites work like lynda.com where I can stay logged in for days and weeks? To top it off, LastPass rolled out a new release that broke auto-login. All this logging in is getting in the way of me getting anything done.

Hi Sherwood,
We haven't had any recent reports of this behaviour.
Have you tried logging out, then clearing you cache beyond your cookies before logging back in?
Please also check you're not booking Moz cookies. If you're still having trouble please send details of your OS, browser version, and screenshots/screencasts of this behaviour, if you're able to capture it, to help@moz.com
Thanks!

Same issue in 2019, across multiple browsers. Is this still an issue for everyone?
-
Sure Christy, I'll do it and include some screenshots if I can. Thanks for your continued support and caring!
-
Hi Federico,
I am so sorry you are still experiencing this. Thanks for hanging in there! Say, would you mind emailing the Help Team about this? This should not be happening. Thanks so much for your patience.
Kind Wishes,
Christy -
Hi Christopher,
I am truly sorry to hear that. Thanks for giving Moz a try, and best of luck to you.
Kind Wishes,
Christy -
Hey Christy,
I still experience fairly regular issues with the login too.
It has become something I am just "used to do" = relogin when going from the Q&A to a profile (ie).
-
Hi Christy,
Thanks for the follow up. The login became too tedious for me and I cancelled my subscription to MOZ.
Best,
Christopher -
Hi Christopher, I'm just checking in to make sure the Help Team was able to sort things out for you. Has this issue been resolved?
-
Christopher, that is very strange ... and annoying
Would you kindly send a detailed email to the Help Team at help@moz.com? It would be great if you could note which sections are showing you as logged in, and which ones are showing you as logged out in your email. Feel free to send screenshots or make a video if that is easier for you. They will also be able to answer questions about login expiration times in more detail.
Thanks for hanging in there, Christopher. You are awesome!
Kind Wishes,
Christy -
Hoorah for progress! Thanks for the update, Federico.

Hi Christy,
Thanks for checking. Sorry to report it's still broken. This morning I deleted the history and cache and logged in and everything was fine. Then later in the day I returned to the site and some pages think I need to login and other pages think I am logged in. I have to find a page that thinks I'm logged in, log off, and then log in again.
Quick question: Is it the intention of the system to automatically log members off after a certain amount of time? If so, what is the time period to log someone off?
Best,
Christopher -
Hey Christy,
I did follow those steps a week ago I think when I opened a question about the same issue, that didn't solved it. However, since Yesterday (I think it was my latest login), I wasn't requested to login again, so seems fixed in this area. OSE is still asking me to login every time, unlike before that ig I was logged in in Moz I was logged in in OSE too.
Thanks!
-
Hoorah! I'm so happy this worked for you. As noted below, if you experience login issues in the future, please try clearing the cookies and the cache at the same time after logging out.

Hi Federico,
Did you see my response below about clearing your cookies and your cache at the same time when logging out? Have you tried that? Thanks so much for your patience

Hi Oren, did you see my response below about clearing the cookies and the cache at the same time after logging out? Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate it!

Hi Jesse,
Thanks for the feedback. So sorry about this. Very frustrating Did you see my responses below about clearing the cookies and the cache? We have a lot of people having issues because they are logging out and doing one but not both at the same time before logging back in. Let me know, and thanks for kind words. We appreciate it, and your many other contributions to the Moz community!

Hi Christopher,
I just want to check in and see if you are still having this issue.

Hi Everyone,
I just want to make sure that you have done both things when logging out (clearing your cache and cookies, at the same time.) Sometimes people do one or the other and not both. All of the sections of the site have been updated with a fix for each one.
If you are still having problems after logging out and clearing both the cookies and cache, (and then logging right back in), would you kindly send a detailed email to help@moz.com? It would be very helpful to note which sections are showing you as logged in, and which ones are showing you as logged out. Feel free to send screenshots or make a video if that is easier for you.
Again, I am so sorry for the inconvenience, and understand your frustration. Thank you for letting us know about this, and for helping us sort it out. Ya'll are awesome!

As Jesse said, I also tried everything, with 3 browsers, firefox, chrome and IE.
To add up, don't know if you noticed, it also affects OSE, before if I was logged in in Moz, I was automatically logged in in OSE. Not that part seems broken too, I need to login every time I access (even during the same day, browser session, etc).
-
Hi Everyone,
Have you tried logging out, then clearing you cache beyond your cookies before logging back in? Again, so sorry for your troubles. Rest assured the Help Team is looking into this.

Yeah this has been a problem for me too recently and it's prevented me from visiting and contributing as often as I'd like.
I use multiple browsers in an attempt to workaround but never succeed. Firefox, Chrome, all do the same. I click Remember Me always and when i hit the Q & A link it logs me out. If I go back to profile without doing anything else I'm logged back in again and can get to analytics and everything. It's just the Q&A page that I have trouble with in getting logged out.
This isn't a constant. I've tried deleting cookies, using different browsers, etc and sometimes I just can't win and give up. But obviously it's working for me currently so who knows.
Anyway, not trying to complain just trying to help. Good luck and big thanks to the Moz Support Squadron.
-
Hi Christopher,
I am so sorry about this, and appreciate you letting us know about it. Frustrating, indeed! Is this happening in multiple browsers? And are you checking the "remember me" box when logging in?
Kind Wishes,
Christy -
Christopher,
I was having the same issues the past several days with being logged in and out while trying to get into the QA sections. It kept redirecting me to the Moz Home page and logging me out. I emailed support and they told me it may be a cookies issue on my Chrome browser. I cleared cookies a few hours ago and haven't had the issue arise, so far.
Hope your situation turns up, but understand your frustrations! - Patrick

Amen, I've been having to log in multiple times a day.
-
Same problem here. I am responding questions in the Q&A, navigate to the the Profile page and suddenly I'm logged out.
There's been at least two more threads about this issue in the last couple of weeks. Some suggested logging our, clearing the cache and logging back in. Others to log out and in; neither worked out for me...

Duplicate Content on a page that isn't duplicate?
So, I've been working on a site for a while, and they recently had one of their blog posts marked as "duplicate content" on Moz Pro: https://ashlandbreastpumps.com/blog/breast-milk-storage-guidelines/ Reviewing this post, there's nothing here to suggest that it should be considered duplicate. Link is marked canonical, there are no weird domain shenanigans to cause confusion, the content is distinct, and there's a lot of content there that prevents it from being overcome by coding white noise (So "more content" wouldn't be a solution here). So I'm trying to figure out why this particular post was flagged. Did Moz Pro make a mistake?

On Page Optimization and Page Grader in Moz Needs Some Fixes
Okay, so I've brought this up a couple times to your team and have always been met with resistance and confusion, but I really feel like the fundamental design of your on page grader (the auto one) needs some changes in order to be really useful. Let's start with the basics. An on page grader is supposed to be a tool where you can enter your keyword or keywords and have it scan the URL to see how well the keyword has been implemented on the page. It checks for heading use, anchor text, alt tags, frequency of use, etc. We all should get this if we are here. Now, your manual page grader does just that and does a great job of it. I find it very useful for checking newly created pages, landing pages, competitor pages and the like. However, your auto version found in the Search > On-Page Optimizations is the culprit here. So, according to several staff at Moz, this tool scans your site every week when the rest of your site scan is done. It then takes the rankings of pages for ranked and tracked keywords and assigns a grade for that page. Here's the major problem.... in almost all of my accounts, it very rarely gets the association with keyword and URL correct. Thus, it returns a low page grade even though the grade of the URL would be an A or B for the correct keyword. What seems to be happening is I'm tracking multiple keywords, sometime close variations. This grade tool in a lot of cases is grading a page more than once for several keywords it's ranking for. All the variants it gets a low grade for because the exact keywords isn't in the title, headings, etc. The second thing that seems to be happening is some pages are not being graded using the primary keyword, but instead a variation. In this case it only shows low grades for the page. On one occurrence of trying to discuss this issue with you, I got scoffed at for saying the tool was "guessing at which keyword to use for the grade". Your staff was very adamant in saying "it's not a guess!" My counter point was, call it what you want, it's in accurate to the intended keyword to be optimized for. Now, when one first gets to this tool, all of the above doesn't seem like that big of a deal because there's an "add & manage page grade" section. This section allows you to add and manage page grades. So, one would think that you could go to this tool, add an page grades for keywords that the tool didn't automatically associate and delete ones that it added with an incorrect association and that would be the end of it. However, that's NOT quite the end of it. At your own admission, the tool doesn't function like that. Each week when a new scan is completed, these pages grades essentially reset. So any page grade that you deleted will simply show right back up again. Now, before I go any further, let me explain why this is such an issue for me. First, on page optimization is something my company does and sells as a service and we are pretty good at it. Not saying we're the best, but we're better than most. That said, one of my reasons for choosing Moz was because according to the verbiage on the pages, one can create branded reports to include on page optimization. However, when the tool doesn't get the right keyword to landing page AND there's no way to manually override it, then basically all of my reports make it look like my pages grades suck, when in face they don't. Now, if in my campaigns I only added the exact keyword for each page and didn't do any variations of, then this tools becomes much more accurate. However, I want to track multiple variations. Bottom line is this: I need a page grading and reporting tool I can count on and actually use. Thus far, you solution is riddled with problems and every time I bring it up, you fight me on it saying it's working as it's supposed to. What I'm saying here is "as it's supposed to" is fundamentally wrong. I'd like to discuss this with someone at this point, and preferably someone a bit higher up than a first tier support person because frankly, I'm not getting anywhere. Overall I love your service, but it's things like this that have me questioning wether or not Moz is right. I'm giving you opportunity after opportunity to prove to me that it is. Help me work this out so we can continue that trend. Thanks, Micha

I'm not canceling my MOZ subscription, but just so I know: if I want to cancel my MOZ subscription, can I do this per month, or per year?
If I want to cancel after six months, do I have to pay for the rest of the year or can I cancel per month?

Cannot Access Moz Analytics
I've been trying to access Moz Analytics for over a month but have continued to see this error message: http://screencast.com/t/GMnN6l9WEI tried on all browsers and cleared my cache. The login works, because I am able to access it on other computers but not on my primary computer. This leads me to believe that Moz' servers are blocking out my computer's IP address for whatever reason.I've tried emailing the help team and calling but have not gotten any sort of response so far. Anyone have a solution?

Can you create additional users for Moz Analytics?
I have just begun setting up Moz Analytics for some of my clients. It lets me add 5 client's sites to a single account but I can't find anywhere to create an additional user/login for a specific account that way I can give access to each client only to their campaign. Is this not possible and if not something you plan on integrating in the near future?
