Adsense vs Adroll Remarketing
-
I have a current Adroll program running for the company I work for. We recently began using Adsense again as well. My questions is, what is the overlap of these 2 networks? I know you can select an option in adroll to have it not advertise on the Google network, but how large is that overlap? And are there benefits of using both programs simultaneously (just a larger reach)?

I am using AdWords remarketing, and I tested AdRoll retargeting between April and May this year.
At the time I did some research (but I don't have the links at hand), my understanding is AdWords coverage is 65% of the web, AdRoll (which include Facebook and other sources) reach 99% of the web. That should give you an estimate of the overlapping.
If you activate both, AdRoll retargeting and AdWords remarketing, for the overlapping portion they will compete with each other and rise your bid/spending, which is something you really don't want. That's why you should either exclude AdWords from Adroll or test disabling AdWords remarketing all together.
When we tested AdRoll we did because we wanted to broad the audience, and we wanted to test how good AdRoll was at retargeting on Facebook. In fact we also tested retargeting on Facebook, directly using Facebook Ads.
The conclusion of the tests where not good. CPA was much higher with AdRoll than AdWords, between 5X and 10X, was also significantly higher when compared to the Facebook ads we ran by ourselves.
CTR of the AdRoll ads (when compared to AdWords remarketing) was extremely good, between 3% and 5%, but CR was horrible.
AdRoll sales people and support was incredibly nice, but the numbers where poor, and after 4 weeks testing we stopped using AdRoll.
When checking AdRoll dashboard be sure to understand the difference between ViewThroughConversions and ClickThroughConversions, admirably AdRoll clearly list conversions as such in the dashboard (Facebook is hiding that behind few clicks in the settings of the campaign), but in the same dashboard the CPA is calculated solely on the base of the ViewThroughConversions, yet if you ask the support they will change that, but you can't do it by yourself (at least at the time was not possible).

Thank you for the input. Do you know how much overlap there is between Adroll and Adsense networks? I think the biggest benefit of Adroll is that we can use Umbel to target specific audiences.

Hi
I like Adroll I believe they offer a fantastic service however if you are looking to really convert I recommend using an agency.
Adroll uses Google's network identical to AdSense but adds Facebook and other non-Google controlled networks to display retargeting ads. There is no need to run AdSense retargeting if you're running Adroll however I do recommend using Google ad words but
I use marin software to manage it is much easier in my opinion. Help with AdSense retargeting too.

All best,
Thomas

Adwords Express Vs Adwords for small business
Hi there I specialise in helping Local businesses with their online visibility through SEO. More recently I have been thinking about delving into Google AdWords so i can offer an additional service to my small business owner but was wondering what the best approach would be.

Should I use Google AdWords express or just Google AdWords? Should I set up individual accounts for each of my clients so they are somehow "portable" or should they all sit under the same master account? As you can see my knowledge is somehow limited and any help would be welcome. If you can point me in some easy to follow tutorial directly aimed at PPC for small businesses that would be awesome. Many thanks0 -
Paid vs. Organic for Brand
HI We've seen a huge drop paid campaigns for impressions on brand terms YOY - 37,140 vs. 792. Our impression share is still high. Organic is higher this year for impressions also. An agency manage created the campaigns for us and can't seem to find a reason, but the drop is huge - it seems like it's just people not searching but we haven't seen this in organic - could it be organic showing instead of paid ads for brand terms? Paid is fairly new to me, so just doing some fact finding Thanks!

Adwords keyword vs exact match kw
Hi guys, I have been using an excellent script that showed me the keywords I was bidding on and the keywords they were matched on by Adwords. I was using the following script: http://www.getelastic.com/exact-keywords-google-analytics/ But I'm under the impression Google changed the way these data can be matched. I now have multiple questions: Does anyone have another script that gives me the same results? Has anyone seen an announcement on why Google has changed this? Might this js solution still be working? http://www.roirevolution.com/blog/2008/02/exact_keyword_tracking_with_gajs.php Cheers and thanks for all the suggestions! Arnout

SIte wide links by google display / adsense
hey guys, I had a quick question about my back links that might be coming from adsense. I am trying to help my father our on his site and help him recover from penguin. unfortunately his company hired some shady SEOers to do "SEO". little did my dad know the BLs he were getting might be spammy, thats what I am checking now. When I ran a BL report on him ( i use two tools, SEO spyglass and OSE ) i found that there were many "sitewide" links, but i dont think there were placed there by the webmaster, i think they come from adsense. I know he has a PPC campaign where the daily spend is 3k/ day so I know its very possible that this might be the case. If my tool is picking up BLs from these sites ( which are niche related ) does google count these links for ranking purposes? and might this hurt my rankings if google just sees these as "sitewide links"

Adsense and e-shops.To do or not?
I own a furniture e-shop with 240K pageviews per month. Should I put Adsense to gain some more money? Or it would drive my customers away? I see many e-shops using Adsense advertising. Is there a good reason not to use it ?

How Do You Sell View-Through-Conversions and Remarketing?
Hey Mozzers, We have a client that has spent $500 on a remarketing trial. This resulted in 4 direct sales with a revenue of $600 and 75 view through conversions. The average sale is about $150. I presented a report with a best and worst case scenario of the VTCs (that is all VTCs were responsible or no VTCs or some VTCs were a direct result of the remarketing campaign). The client needed more proof that the VTCs were a direct result of the remarketing - which I did not have. I know this was a really profitable campaign, but I just cant prove it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Or know of any good blog posts I could read up on? Thanks.
