Blog Influencer's tool
-
Hi Mozzers,
Can you help me with something please. I need a tool (preferably free or low cost) to find a list of influencers (blog or some types of publication) in a particular marketplace. Step 2 would be to see if we can then syndicate content but I need to find them first.
Obviously there Google blog finder and general searches, I've used other tools in the past but a long time ago - what are people using now and what's the best?
Thanks
B

Hi Mark,
Good idea - I didn't think of the Twitter profiles - I'm a Pro Member so have full access to FW and all the tools.
Thanks for your help

Try Followerwonk.com, now part of the Moz empire. Even if you don't have a PRO account, you can use this tool to search Twitter bios.
So for example you can type "travel blogger" into the search field and it will show a list of people on Twitter who have words "travel" and "blogger" in their bios. These are sorted by followers, so you are likely to see the most influential first (there is also an option to sort by influence).
Click on "more options" and you can add filters. For example, you might want to find travel bloggers in the UK or the US.
A search that I like "Huffington Post travel" (replace it with your area of interest).
In my experience, most bloggers are active on Twitter, so this is a good de facto blogger search tool, and free.

Internet Business Promoter by Axandra is a great tool for finding bloggers. All you do is enter the keywords you're trying to rank for and it will scrape various search engines/websites that match the criteria you selected.
I think they even offer a free trial version of the program, I'd give this a try first. There's some other things you can do too, but it requires using multiple programs.
I, personally, find this to be a great link-building tool/resource for finding 'pillars of industry'.

Blog hasn't ranked since reposting.
Hey Moz fam! I had a blog that was doing pretty well for the target keyword. Unfortunately, to make a long story short, we had an image in it we weren't supposed to so I unpublished it for a few days while we got that sorted out. Since republishing (with all the same content) it has not gotten a single impression. I inspected the URL and it is totally eligible but nothing in the way of organic traffic. Any ideas on how I can recover?

I work on a uk decorating website with five of our own bloggers all of which reside on the home page of the website on their own separete blogging urls as sub domains - is this a good idea or would google not like this from an seo point of view?
Should blogs that are part of an overall content site be on separate sites and link in or is it ok to promote them as content on the home page of the site and take users off to their own url to view the site. Is this good practise for seo?

Blog Benefits
I read a very interesting answer by Andy Solo to a previous question in which he replied: "Use your blog to create some Tips & How-To's, optimize those blog entries for the long tail keywords and soon enough your blog will be the gateway into your website. Learn how to target longl-tail keyword searches and how to analyze keyword competition to find the right niche blog posts to create". With my own company site, www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk which has a long-standing blog attached, www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk/blog I always felt that the blog content greatly aided our top positions in Google.co.uk. However, over the last 12 months we have slipped right down page one and I wondered if the blog is still helping our site or if the emphasis/value has switched and Google is looking at a lot of other factors where we score badly? Wordpress blog, transferring .com to .org
For many years now we've had a wordpress.com blog, and accumulated a lot of links from it as a result. We now have a wordpress.org blog and are keen to move all the old posts on to the new .org site. How can this be done without losing the links from the old .com blog? Thanks in advance.

How to make use of blog networks?
I read on a forum recently that someone was using blog networks as his primary tool for SEO. I'm not sure what he meant beyond this, however... Can anyone provide tips on how I might use one, and which are some of the best? Thank you very much in advance.
