Google MyBusiness Profile Pictures not Showing
-
Can someone tell me why some search profiles in maps don't show the profile image? Meaning the business has pictures in their profiles, including their main profile, its at 100% completion and the audience is not age restricted and the images still don't show?
Attached is an example (not my clients but you can see what happens)
I appreciate any ideas!
Thanks

Thanks so much for saying so, Tom, and glad to hear you're feeling better. I don't travel much, so I don't have anything scheduled, but thanks for asking. Have a good weekend!
-
Hi Miriam,
Yes i'm feeling 1 million times better thank you for asking.
Are you attending any events this year?
By the way great info on the Google local updates in so many posts I've read from you. I am really impressed.
All the best,
Thomas

Hey Tom,
Hope you're feeling better! Sadly, I was not at LocalU. Hope you have fun at the upcoming events.
-
Hi Linda,
I am sorry to hear that.
Yes I had unexpectedly had to do the root canal fun times so I was not able to monitor anything to be honest with you guys. But I have a client who has returned absolutely ecstatic from it so I am very happy about this.
we can talk about the same thing now it's awesome.
I will be at searchlove & mozcon
Hope to see you at one,
Tom

Hi Thomas,
Sorry about the root canal. I didn't go. Have back problems and can't travel. So I stayed here and covered all the news via Twitter. Have heard nothing but rave reviews!
Miriam, did you go?
-
Hi Miriam & Linda,
amazing I did not expect to see what I found there.
Did you both attend localU I had a root canal issue and was unable to attend unfortunately but I did have a client go who absolutely loved it. I wish I could've seen you there.
All the best,
Thomas

Thanks Miriam.
It's buried in a thread on another topic, but shows screenshots of the same problem described here.

Hey Linda -
My mistake, then - I had assumed MM would be better the GMB for a maps-based issue. Please, feel free to link to your forum thread about this, as it could be very helpful for Mgordon. So helpful to know you may be seeing a new, emerging issue there. Thank you for taking the time to share this
-
Miriam, MM guys usually won't deal with GMB issues at all. If it's a problem in the GMB dashboard, then I think it's GMB support you should call.
But I started getting reports at my forum about that exact same missing image problem today. Many of my users said when they checked the listing, their images had mysteriously been moved to a "scrapbook" folder in the photos tab.
One of my users said: "I have also noticed with a few clients that pics that were directly on the GMB page were relocated to a "scrapbook" folder in the photos tab. Not sure why, but some of them seem to be going back and forth on the GMB page."
So I think something is up with images. I'm pretty sure support will tell you it's a technical problem and they are working on it. I plan to ask Google local management tomorrow and will try to remember to report back here if I find out anything.
-
Hey there!
If you discover that your images already meet Google's requirements, this is one I'd take to the Mapmaker forum:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/map-maker
You'll need to be able to reveal the actual account details there, of course, so that the RERs can take a look at what you're seeing. Without being able to see the result, this may be hard to diagnose.

Google has cracked down on low quality photographs they want photos that are 2000 pixels wide the smallest can get away with his 500 pixels
"min 500x500 px. For best results, add photos that are at least 2,000 px wide and no wider than 2:1 ratio."
_ See the bottom of the URL referenced from _https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038221
This is what Google recommends for their my business which must also be approved and you should have no less than 10 photographs of relevant pictures regarding what your company does and especially of your business.

Not Showing Up in Local Pack - Possible Possum Filter?
We have a medical practice client who isn't showing up at all on local category searches for their zip code. Wondering whether it's a Possum algorithm filter, and if so, how we can resolve this. The client is named Wall Street Dermatology, and is located in the same building as two other medical practices in the same dermatologist specialty. They share the same address (65 Broadway, New York, NY), but have different unit numbers. My client is Suite 904. To be clear, these are entirely separate businesses that are not affiliated with each other. They happen to be located in the same building. When running local searches (for example, in US zip code 10004) for the category term "dermatologist", my client is not appearing at all. The two other practices are appearing just fine. In fact, one of the competing practices has not only their practice listed, but one of their doctors individually and even one of the physician assistants. My client, Wall Street Dermatology, isn't showing up. IMO, the GMB profile is robust, with more reviews than competitors, and more content overall. While there's SEO work to be done, the citations and link profile exceeds some of the other practices who are showing up in "dermatologist" (use zip code 10004) searches. Google is showing profiles of dermatologists who haven't even claimed their profiles or have websites. One more thing: For a two-week span, the business was showing up in the 3-pack for "dermatologist" after making upgrades to the GMB profile. This was a first. So they've been there before. However, they made some changes to NAP. 1) added the providers name to the business name: "Business Name: Provider Name". 2) Updated "Suite" to "Ste" in order to match USPS. After that change, the business fell off entirely again.Note: We do appear on searches for the business name. And we do appear for some secondary keywords (for example, "Cosmetic Dermatology"), but not for the main keyword. Is this related to Possum (https://moz.com/learn/seo/google-possum)? Is Google confused that my client is related to the other practices in the same building? Any suggestions?

I was told by a Google My Business representative to include #{keywords} in my description. I was told this would boost my rankings. Has anyone else heard of this?

Google Local Result- Competitor Ranks without an Address. Why is this happening?
My client is in a fairly competitive local market and there is a competitor who has ranked locally for around 2 years, but they have no actual address on their Google business listing. Just city and state. The listing is always top three and it does have their website listed, but directions aren't even available as there is actual no address. The listing is extremely keyword dense (basically spam but they actually created a business with the spam name). Citation Example: Keyword dense business name, phone number, city and state only Have you seen this? Can you explain why this is happening? Is this against the rules/anything I can do? Thanks!

SEO - Should individual doctors at facility claim a Google My Business profile?
My client is a physician facility with several doctors practicing at the facility. When doing a Google search for some of their practices such as "family practice" one of the doctor's profiles will display in the Google Local pack - however it is not linked to the facility website where their profile exists. As of right now, we are using YEXT and other tools to claim Google Business Profiles for each practice, not the individual doctors. If there are unclaimed accounts for individual doctors, they are alerting Google that it’s a duplicate and should be taken down. Is this the right process to follow for SEO best practices or should we be claiming both the business and individual doctor profiles? The reason they are not claiming individual doctor profiles is to cut down on duplicate reviews as part of the Reputation Management Program. Advice much appreciated!

New design for Googles Local Search results. No more "7 Pack"
Hello MOZ-People,
Local Listings | | Andre-S
since yesterday I see (here in germany) for many keywords, that the local results in Google (the so called "7 Pack") is just a "3 Pack". AND, and this leads to my question, for keywords that suggest Google that you want to rent a vacation home, I see the possibility to enter the dates for arrival and departure (see the pic). But for now, it seems that changeing the dates has no impact on the results. Has anyone a clue, what Google has in mind with these dates? Is the an official Google response I have missed? Thank you for your answers. Best regards

Merging Google Place Accounts to Merge Reviews for same Company
Hi Everybody If you have 2 Google Place Listings (Local Listings) 1 with 1 Location and 1 with another Location, is there anyway to merge the 2 Accounts. 1 of them has lots of Reviews and the other contains some Reviews so Ideally there would be 1 Account which merges all Reviews into 1 Account Multiple Locations can then be added into the 1 Account. Any Ideas Thanks Adam

Why does my business does not appear on Google Maps ?
I recently created a Google + Profile for a client (I'm from Canada), even created a profile for Google Maps, received the code and my business is now verified. It's been nearly three weeks and the business still does not show or is even marked on Google Maps. I reviewed my profile to make sure I did not forget anything. I even contacted Google maps to suggest a change, nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me ? Thank you !
