Schema.org problems (still)
-
Hey Mozzers,
I've been working at this for a while now, and I can't figure out why the rich snippet data is not getting pulled for our reviews and product rating. I've included a sample URL where we have reduced the schema.org markup:
http://www.tripcentral.ca/vacations-packages_00_03_JN_gran-bahia-principe-coba.html
| } |
Any thoughts? I was told not to list multiple reviews, so I took them out. But it's still not being picked up in the SERPs, and we would really like the star rating data to appear.
Any useful advice would be appreciated!

I haven't had any trouble using JSON-LD for organizations and people. I have only used in-line product schema so far for products. You could try adding the in-line markup if you haven't already, and leaving the JSON-LD script up.

I've corrected the brackets with our dev, but it's still not pulling up.
Here is the change we made to the code:
| "@context": "http://schema.org", |
| | "@type": "BreadcrumbList", |
| | "itemListElement": [ |
| | { |
| | "@type": "ListItem", |
| | "position": 1, |
| | "item": { |
| | "@id": "http://www.tripcentral.ca", |
| | "name": "Home" |
| | } |
| | },{ |
| | "@type": "ListItem", |
| | "position": 2, |
| | "item": { |
| | "@id": "http://www.tripcentral.ca/vacations-packages_index.html", |
| | "name": "Vacations Packages" |
| | } |
| | },{ |
| | "@type": "ListItem", |
| | "position": 3, |
| | "item": { |
| | "@id": "http://www.tripcentral.ca/vacations-packages_mexico.html", |
| | "name": "Mexico" |
| | } |
| | },{ |
| | "@type": "ListItem", |
| | "position": 4, |
| | "item": { |
| | "@id": "http://www.tripcentral.ca/vacations-packages_mayan-riviera-maya.html", |
| | "name": "Mayan Riviera-Maya" |
| | } |
| | }] |
| | } |I went through with the dev team and its passing the testing tool.
Is there anything else I could be missing?
-
Are you including the itemprop="aggregateRating" itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/AggregateRating" somewhere else?
Also, I think with products you need to wrap it all in a div with itemtype="http://schema.org/Product"
-
Could it be because we are using JSON that the rich snippet data is not being pulled?
-
Right now I am just focusing on getting the product rating up. Here is the code I am going to try:
Dreams Tulum
A beautiful resort, dream weddings and amazing staff.
Hotel rating:
5 out of
5 with
8 ratingsI am trying to go to the basics here- I think this looks correct?

Have a look at: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/
Your page only has "hotel, product, and breadcrumb list", this should help you: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/reviews

Schema Markup Doesn't Make Any Sense!! Help Please
Hey again Moz community! I've been trying to read up on schema markup and watch videos multiple times (!) but I can't understand how it works. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can answer these questions: Do I need to ‘markup’ every part of the article? Like “this section can be FAQ snippet, and this can also FAQ etc..". So I guess my question is how detailed does the markup have to be? What are the best tools to use for schema markup for wordpress? What are the best tools to use for schema markup for react web-app? The https://search.google.com/test/rich-results shows if the markup is good for a page, but it doesn’t provide any details. For some articles it says that sitelinks searchbox is detected but that’s only one type of snippet possibility? Do I need to add additional markup for, say, list snippets and FAQ snippets if I want a chance to get those? Thanks a lot! Leo W

Should I even do product page schema?
If I have no reviews/ratings on the page itself and special/limited time offers and just a regular product page with a standard price, is there any ability to do product schema with it getting flagged for errors? Google's Structured Markup Testing Tool threw me an error when I test it without any of those: | One of offers or review or aggregateRating should be provided. | And even if it's possible, is there any point?

How to solve our duplicate content issue? (Possible Session ID problem)
Hi there, We've recently took on a new developer who has no experience in any technical SEO and we're currently redesigning our site www.mrnutcase.com. Our old developer was up to speed on his SEO and any technical issues we never really had to worry about. I'm using Moz as a tool to go through crawl errors on an ad-hoc basis. I've noticed just now that we're recording a huge amount of duplicate content errors ever since the redesign commenced (amongst other errors)! For example, the following page is duplicated 100s of times: https://www.mrnutcase.com/en-US/designer/?CaseID=1128599&CollageID=21&ProductValue=2293 https://www.mrnutcase.com/en-US/designer/?CaseID=1128735&CollageID=21&ProductValue=3387 https://www.mrnutcase.com/en-GB/designer/?CaseID=1128510&CollageID=21&ProductValue=3364 https://www.mrnutcase.com/en-GB/designer/?CaseID=1128511&CollageID=21&ProductValue=3363 etc etc. Does anyone know how I should be dealing with this problem? And is this something that needs to be fixed urgently? This problem has never happened before so i'm hoping it's an easy enough fix. Look forward to your responses and greatly appreciate the help. Many thanks, Danny

If a website trades internationally and simply translates its online content from English to French, German, etc how can we ensure no duplicate content penalisations and still maintain SEO performance in each territory?
Most of the international sites are as below: example.com example.de example.fr But some countries are on unique domains such example123.rsa

Having problems resolving duplicate meta descriptions
Recently, I’ve recommended to the team running one of our websites that we remove duplicate meta descriptions. The site currently has a large number of these and we’d like to conform to SEO best practice. I’ve seen Matt Cutt’s recent video entitled, ‘Is it necessary for every page to have a meta description’, where he suggests that webmasters use meta descriptions for their most tactically important pages, but that it is better to have no meta description than duplicates. The website currently has one meta description that is duplicated across the entire site. This seemed like a relatively straight forward suggestion but it is proving much more challenging to implement over a large website. The site’s developer has tried to resolve the meta descriptions, but says that the current meta description is a site wide value. It is possible to create 18 distinct replacements for 18 ‘template’ pages, but any sub-pages of these will inherit the value and create more duplicates. Would it be better to: Have no meta descriptions at all across the site? Stick with the status quo and have one meta description site-wide? Make 18 separate meta descriptions for the 18 most important pages, but still have 18 sets of duplicates across the sub-pages of the site. Or…is there a solution to this problem which would allow us to follow the best practice in Matt’s video? Any help would be much appreciated!

Should We Add the W3.org Language Tag To Every Page Or Just The Home Page?
Greetings, We have five international sites around the world, two of which are in difference languages. Currently we have the following line of html code on the home page of each of the sites: Clearly, we need to change the "en" portion for the sites that aren't in English, but, should we include that meta tag in each of the site's pages, or will the home page suffice. Thanks!

Are articles still benificial and how best to promote them?
Hello, I'm trying to promote a new site doing things differently moving forward if needed in order to prevent getting google slapped while being as efficient as possible.. We have a main site which manufacturers materials. we also have a blog on blogger.com every week someone in our office writes an article about something related to our area of work and within the article has a varied keyword or two embedded within the article they are writing... My questions are as follows: -1- should be change our blog site address from oursite.blogger.com to blog.oursite.com?
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Robdob2013
-2- would it be beneficial to have a link from our main site to the oursite.blogger.com
-3- We also have a ezine account, would it be beneficial to also post this same article perhaps with some minor changes to our ezine account so that it would start to get more visibility from other sites or is this now possibly a no no?
-4- should we be now usin nofollow links in our articles? if we do use nofollow links aren't we losing the benefit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated0 -
How to Find problem domain history
Hi I have what most of you may think is a dumb question but here goes. please be nice... 🙂 So I have a client (http://www,ace-alarms.co.uk) who are having a real problem ranking for ANY of their key words. I know it's a reasonably competitive area but I've not seen such a stubborn domain and it seems that no matter what we do there's nothing listed. i'm thinking that there may be a problem with the domain name. My question is; how can I find out if this is a problem domain. Thanks in advance Steve
