Keywords used to land on specific page?
-
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there's anywhere where I can see what keywords are used in search engines to land on a specific page? I have access to the Google Analytics account and linked it to Moz as a campaign, but I can't find this data.
I'm curious about this because a very uncommon word is used in a page title for a page I try to optimize. It's the Dutch translation of 'malicious'. And now I wonder if it's better to switch to a word that's used more often. Or if it's better to 'win the battle' on this (probably) rarely used word. I've used Google trends to see how many people use it, but it says there's not enough data to show the interest over time.

Keywords used to land on a specific page refer to the search terms entered by users that direct them to that page through search engine results. These keywords are relevant to the content and purpose of the page, helping users find the information they're seeking and driving targeted traffic to the website. Analyzing these keywords can provide valuable insights for optimizing content and improving search engine visibility.

Then, select the specific page you're interested in and click on it. Next, click on the "Secondary Dimension" dropdown menu and choose "Traffic Sources" > "Keyword." This will show you the keywords that users used in search engines to land on that page.
Regarding the uncommon word in your page title, it's important to consider both its relevance to your content and its search volume. If the word is highly relevant to your content and your target audience, it might be worth keeping it to attract the right visitors, even if it has lower search volume. However, if there are alternative words with higher search volume that are equally relevant, you could consider optimizing your page title with those keywords to potentially attract more traffic.

@RaoulWB Yes you can check these data in Google search console where you can find the keywords and landing page.

There, you'll see the keywords used to land on your page. As for your uncommon word, it's worth considering the context and audience relevance rather than solely focusing on search volume. If it aligns with your content and goals, winning the battle on the rare word might lead to more targeted traffic and engagement.

What our company did was we created separate pages for every product that we sell.
This way, we can have separate titles, meta titles, meta descriptions, alt-text and content marketing, and also internal links.
We done this for a company that sells garden offices, and it allowed to us improve the SEO for that business.

That makes sense @Nick! Thank you for thinking along!

I was wondering about something similar. In the end I went for the more popular term as my main keyword and kept the other, less used one as my secondary term on the same page.
I found that if Google doesn't have enough data on a keyword, unless it's a very niche and profitable one, I find it's better to use it as a secondary phrase.

Wrong page ranking on SERP, above more relevant page
Often I will see the wrong page, something less relevant to a particular search, appear higher on the SERP than a more relevant page. Why does this happen and how can it be remedied? I found this Moz article, has anything been written on this topic more recently. Thanks! https://moz.com/blog/wrong-page-ranking-in-the-results-6-common-causes-5-solutions

Wrong sitelinks & landing pages in Google
I've recently launched a well-optimized website with good-content category landing pages and then I've added a blog to the website (as supporting content to the landing pages, the only links pointing to the blog are from the category landing pages) What happened is that Google is now using the Blog pages as the site - sitelinks and also as the landing pages for most keywords I only have inbound links to the reg. landing pages and none to the blog, how do I get Google to change that? I know I can demote sitelink URL's in webmaster tools, but would that help me with getting the right sitelinks, it sure wont help much with the landing pages Thanks

Use of
Hi Everyone, Encountered this NOHTMLINDEX tag within the section of a website and I am not really sure how it affects the performance of the website and its use. This meta robots tag has been used on numerous pages like the home page, content pages and forum threads. Is it good to keep it there or should it be removed and why? Thanks in advance! Steve

Would I be safe canonicalizing comments pages on the first page?
We are building comment pages for an article site that live on a separate URL from the article (I know this is not ideal, but it is necessary). Each comments page will have a summary of the article at the top. Would I be safe using the first page of comments as the canonical URL for all subsequent comment pages? Or could I get away with using the actual article page as the canonical URL for all comment pages?

Some of my pages are ranking for terms which I want other pages to rank for. What can I do to effectively switch the ranking?
Some of the pages are ranking for terms I have optimised other pages for. The pages which are ranking are quite rightly falling, because they aren't optimised for the terms they're showing for. However, I have pages which are optomised for those terms. How do I switch the SERPS to the page I want?

Duplicate pages
Hi, I am using a CMS that generates dynamic urls that according to the SeoMoz tool will be indexed as duplicate pages. The pages in questions are forms, blog-posts etc. that are not crucial to achieve ranking for. I do worry though about the consequences of having 20 (non-duplicate)pages with static urls and about 100 pages that are duplicates with dynamic urls. What consequences will this have for the speed that the robots crawl the site and could there be negative effects on ranking for the entire domain?
