Applying an effective SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy to your real estate website will significantly improve your visibility and increase your organic traffic. The main strategies are:
Keyword Research: Identify keywords related to your real estate niche, location, and target audience. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to find high-volume, low-competition keywords that potential customers are searching for.
Optimize on-page elements: Optimize on-page elements such as titles, meta descriptions, headers, and URLs with targeted keywords. Make sure your content is well-structured, informative, and provides added value to your visitors.
Quality Content Creation: Create high-quality, informative content that addresses your audience's common questions, concerns, and interests. Content types include blog posts, neighborhood guides, market reports, real estate listings, video tours, and more.
Local SEO: Use local SEO strategies to target customers in specific geographic areas. Optimize your Google My Business listing, use location-based keywords, and create locally targeted content to increase your visibility in local search results.
Mobile Optimization: Ensure your website is mobile-friendly and optimized for different devices and screen sizes. Mobile optimization is essential for real estate SEO, as Google prioritizes mobile-friendly websites in search rankings.
Link Building: Build high-quality backlinks from reputable real estate websites, local businesses, and relevant directories. Guest posts, partnerships, and participation in local events can help you gain valuable backlinks to your website.
Social Media Integration: Integrate social media into his SEO strategy by sharing content on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Engage with your audience, share valuable insights, and encourage social sharing to increase visibility and drive traffic.
User Experience (UX) Optimization: Provide a seamless and intuitive user experience on your website. Provide fast page load times, easy navigation, a clear call to action, and a visually appealing design to engage your visitors and encourage them to explore further.
Schema Markup: Implement schema markup to provide search engines with structured data about real estate listing information such as property details, price, and availability. This increases your chances of appearing in rich snippets and other advanced search results.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Regularly monitor your website's performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Track key metrics like organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion rates to identify opportunities for improvement and refine your SEO strategy over time.
By implementing these effective SEO strategies, real estate professionals can improve their online visibility, attract more qualified prospects, and ultimately grow their businesses.
-
Successful SEO strategies for real estate involve utilizing relevant keywords within website content, crafting visually captivating and informative property listings, and establishing authoritative backlinks from reliable sources. Utilizing local SEO tactics, such as refining Google My Business profiles and cultivating positive reviews, can also elevate visibility and entice potential buyers or renters to explore real estate listings.
-
Effective Real Estate SEO strategies focus on optimizing for local search, ensuring a mobile-friendly site, creating high-quality, informative content, and conducting thorough keyword research tailored to the real estate market. On-page SEO is crucial, with optimized title tags, meta descriptions, and structured URLs. Enhancing user experience through easy navigation and fast loading times can reduce bounce rates, while building quality backlinks can boost site authority. An active social media presence and engaging video content can also drive traffic and improve user engagement. Regularly reviewing website analytics is essential to measure performance and make data-driven improvements. By combining these elements, real estate professionals can enhance their online visibility, attract more traffic, and generate leads more effectively.

Several strategies can significantly boost your online visibility when it comes to optimizing your real estate website for search engines and driving organic traffic. One of the key considerations is targeting specific keywords relevant to your real estate niche, such as "countryside farms." Here are some effective SEO strategies to help you achieve better rankings and attract potential buyers or investors interested in countryside farms:
Keyword Research and Optimization:
Conduct thorough keyword research to identify popular search terms related to countryside farms in your target market. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner or Moz's own keyword research tools to discover relevant keywords. Once identified, optimize your website content, including meta titles, descriptions, headings, and body content, with these keywords naturally. Remember, keyword optimization should always be user-friendly and informative.High-Quality, Informative Content:
Create high-quality, informative content around countryside farms. This could include detailed property listings, blog posts about rural living, investment opportunities in the countryside, and more. Ensure that your content addresses the needs and questions of potential buyers or investors looking for countryside farms.Local SEO Optimization:
Since real estate is inherently local, optimizing for local SEO is crucial. Ensure that your Google My Business listing is accurate and up-to-date. Encourage customer reviews, as positive reviews can improve your local rankings. Use location-specific keywords (e.g., "countryside farms in [Your Location]") throughout your content.Mobile Optimization:
With an increasing number of users accessing the internet via mobile devices, it's essential to have a mobile-friendly website. Google also considers mobile-friendliness as a ranking factor. Make sure your website is responsive and provides an excellent user experience on all devices.Link Building and Outreach:
Build high-quality backlinks to your real estate website. Reach out to local publications, industry-related websites, and blogs to request guest post opportunities or mention your countryside farm listings. These authoritative backlinks can improve your website's credibility in search engines' eyes.Social Media Integration:
Promote your countryside farm listings on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Use high-quality images and engaging captions to attract potential buyers' attention. Social signals can indirectly impact your SEO rankings.Regular Updates and Maintenance:
Keep your website updated with fresh content, new listings, and the latest market trends. Regularly review and update your SEO strategies to stay ahead of the competition.Remember that SEO is an ongoing process, and results may take time to materialize. By consistently implementing these strategies, you can improve your real estate website's search engine visibility and attract a targeted audience interested in countryside farms. Good luck with your real estate SEO efforts!

Hey @Dakota_G
If you want to increase organic traffic to your real estate website and compete with larger platforms like Zillow and Realtor, here are some strategies and must-have SEO pages you can consider implementing:
Optimize your website for local search: Since real estate is location-specific, focus on optimizing your website for local search. Include location-based keywords in your page titles, meta descriptions, content, and URLs. Create dedicated pages targeting specific cities or neighborhoods you operate in.
Create high-quality and unique content: Develop informative and engaging content that appeals to your target audience. Consider creating blog posts, articles, and guides related to real estate topics, such as buying and selling tips, market trends, home improvement ideas, and local area guides. This helps establish your website as a valuable resource and can attract organic traffic.
Utilize long-tail keywords: Long-tail keywords are specific phrases that users may search for when looking for properties. Incorporate long-tail keywords into your content to target more qualified leads. For example, instead of just "real estate," target keywords like "luxury homes for sale in [city]" or "best neighborhoods for families in [city]."
Optimize your listings: If you have property listings on your website, optimize them for search engines. Include relevant keywords in the title, description, and content of each listing. Add high-quality images and provide detailed information about the property, including its features, amenities, and location.
Implement on-page SEO techniques: Ensure that your website follows best practices for on-page SEO. Optimize your website's loading speed, improve its mobile-friendliness, use descriptive URLs, create unique and compelling meta tags, and incorporate internal linking to enhance the user experience and search engine visibility.
Leverage social media: Establish a strong presence on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Share your listings, blog posts, and informative content on these platforms to expand your reach, engage with potential clients, and drive traffic back to your website.
Optimize for mobile devices: With the increasing use of mobile devices, it's essential to have a responsive and mobile-friendly website. Ensure that your website is optimized for mobile viewing and offers a seamless user experience across different devices.
Build backlinks: Earn high-quality backlinks from reputable websites to improve your website's authority and rankings. Consider reaching out to local businesses, industry influencers, and relevant real estate websites for potential link-building opportunities. Guest posting on industry-related blogs can also help generate backlinks.
Create a dedicated page for sellers: Develop a page that specifically targets sellers and provides valuable information on the selling process, tips for preparing a property for sale, and the benefits of choosing your real estate services. This page should showcase your expertise and offer a compelling reason for sellers to choose you over larger platforms.
Optimize your Google My Business listing: Claim and optimize your Google My Business listing to improve your local search visibility. Provide accurate business information, including your address, phone number, and business hours. Encourage satisfied clients to leave positive reviews to enhance your online reputation.
Remember, building organic traffic takes time and consistent effort. Monitor your website's performance using analytics tools, make data-driven optimizations, and adapt your strategies based on the results you see.

Hi Dakota_G,
This is a good topic and you've come up with some good ideas to get started on your content development. You might find some of the suggestions in this article useful, as well: https://placester.com/real-estate-marketing-academy/real-estate-local-seo-tips/
Competing with a company like Zillow, if you are marketing a small-to-medium realty firm, may not be a realistic goal to set, at least not for the top search phrases you'd probably most hope to rank for. You may need to think of sites like that as places to get listed rather than to surpass in the SERPs for core terms.
So, where does this leave a company like the one you are trying to market? Typically:
-
Competing for longer-tail searches
-
Competing for something other than the "10 blue links", like featured snippets, video results, image results, local pack results, etc.
Some of the ideas you've had, like providing weather results, are probably not going to be worth your time. People already have apps for that, or get their info on that right inside Google's results. But if you can come up with the best possible answers for questions that people are asking and that haven't already been covered with a perfect answer by a huge powerhouse publication, you might be able to start seeing some more visibility.
I would identify long tail terms that directly relate to your geographic and industry market. Do the searches for these terms. See what comes up. Look at featured snippet opportunities, People Also Ask boxes, Answer The Public, Google Q&A queries, Quora topics, etc. I'd begin gathering direct feedback from your firm's clients. What are their FAQs? Investigate FAQ schema to answer these queries.
Finally, I would look at those top sites that are outranking yours and see if there are opportunities for you to be interviewed by them as an expert, to be listed on them, to guest post on them and similar activities so that you at least have a presence on platforms you can't surpass.
I hope these suggestions help.

Should local businesses focus exclusively on a local SEO strategy (and forget traditional SEO)?
Hello Friends! I work at a small, local company. We definitely want to rank high for local search , so we see the value of having a local SEO strategy. But does it make sense for us to also invest in a traditional SEO strategy? My understanding is that a traditional SEO strategy is focused on improving your site's visibility on a national or international scale. Does this make sense for my company if only local customers convert? If we had unlimited time and resources, I'd be all for a traditional SEO strategy. I understand that the more traffic, backlinks, etc. my site generates from producing relevant content, the higher my ranking. But my company has to be very strategic about where we spend our time since our resources are limited. So...How much can or does a traditional SEO strategy impact local search results? I'd hate to spend the time writing a beautiful SEO-optimized blog on dog grooming, for example, if that effort won't impact my SERP ranking when someone in my area searches for "dog grooming near me." I'd love to hear your thoughts!

How to go about SEO when the content on all the pages is in a regional language (with its own script which is non-roman) but majority of searches are in the same language but roman script?
For example, the entire content is in an Indian language called Gujarati and the script is also Gujarati. However, when I did a keyword research, I found that majority of the searches are in Gujarati langugage by roman script e.g. "gujarati sahitya" meaning Gujarati literature. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Miriam's 7 Local SEO Predictions for 2019
Greetings to our great Moz Community! It's been a fascinating year in Local Search, and I thought it would be good to jot down a few of my personal predictions for the year ahead. I'd love you to add yours, as well, so that we can all think together about the local businesses we'll be marketing in the new year. Here we go: 1) Major player weaknesses could lead to a changing of the local guard Whether it's Facebook's ethics scandals or Yelp's downward stock trends, loss of public confidence could mean a shift in a local search platform hierarchy that's been pretty well established for some years. These brands' ongoing challenges could spell out opportunity for newcomer brands, or could simply drive more people to Google. Google has had its own problems this year, but nevertheless... 2) Google will continue to dominate and monetize local search For so many users, Google IS the Internet, and that's an advantage no competitor has been able to overcome. In 2019, I expect to see further monetization of local SERPs, including LSA, in-pack local ads, booking buttons, and other forms of lead gen. Local search marketing will become more spendy. For more on creating strategy in this environment, read: Why Local Businesses will Need Websites More Than Ever in 2019. And, for retailers... 3) Real-time Online Local Inventory will become a real "thing" I'll have an article coming out on this in early 2019 on the Moz blog (Update: Now Published: https://moz.com/blog/taking-local-inventory-online), but in a nutshell, we're on course to cross a new threshold in search. You'll finally be able to search for local inventory and get accurate information about who near you stocks what in their stores. Google's See What's In Store feature will be part of this, but so will emerging third party technology. User behavior will change as a result of this, and just like we've all integrated online mapping/local search into our daily lives, we'll soon be familiar with using search to find local inventory. This is really great news for retailers of all sizes! Meanwhile... 4) The line between brands and people will blur further 2018 has been a fascinating study in what appears to be a rising consumer expectation that brands align with customers at a philosophical level. We saw Nike's stock go to a record high due to their deft read of the nation and company alignment with Colin Kaepernick, while other retailers lost millions over culturally-insensitive content. Big rewards and boycotts represent the two extreme ends of this spectrum in which your CEO isn't really a private person anymore, but rather, a member of the larger society with a voice that will be assessed for its empathy to causes, groups and events. This puts brand employees in unfamiliar territory, having some of their fate rise or fall based on the public stances of company leadership, and it puts a new premium on skillful awareness of societal trends. Because of this... 5) Smart local brands will speed up focus on sustainability Political pundits are predicting that the 2020 US election may be referendum on Climate Change. This means that US customers will be inundated with messaging and news surrounding this over the next two years. We're already seeing big brands like Patagonia respond by saying that they're "in the business of saving the planet" and Salesforce co-CEO billionaire Mark Benioff promising that his company will be running on 100% renewable energy by 2022. I predict that a growing body of consumers will increasingly expect and reward sustainable brand practices. 2019 will be a very good year for the local businesses you market to do a green audit of their business model, implement change and then promote their Climate-friendly practices. Think big on this, because... 6) Reputation will be key Everything a local business can do to please and retain customers should sit at the core of the business model. Whatever it is that gets your customers to leave positive reviews, return for repeat business, recommend you via WOM to their friends and family, and view you as a vital component of local commerce will have a serious impact on your reputation, rankings and revenue. Google recently stated that 27% of local searches have an intent of reading reviews about a specific business and our recent State of Local Industry Report here at Moz found that 91% of respondents agree that reviews impact rankings. Reputation, and the awareness of its role, will be very big in 2019. 7) Link building will become more deeply integrated into Local SEO Local Search Ranking Factors 2018 cited links as the 6th most influential local pack factor. This means that smart local SEOs will double down on their organic skills and start pursuing relevant links for their clients with professional, organized strategies and good tools. Any Local SEM package that leaves out link building will be incomplete. All in all, I predict we're in for an exciting, challenging year in which clear vision and a dedication to service will be the keys to local business success. **Now it's your turn! Where do you see us going in 2019 in the local search industry? Please, share your own predictions! **

Legalicy of videos used for local SEO
Hello, A client of mine wants to use someone else's video (video of how to train your dog) in his pages for "dog training (His City)" The person who makes the how to train your dog videos sells DVDs and that's how he makes his money if that matters. Creating SEO Time Management Strategy
Hey Mozzers! Everything nowadays is automated- social media, content calendars, etc.. I am trying to get more organized with my time so that I can make sure each client is getting a fair amount of work, but this can be tough as one person managing 20 various campaigns; it leaves little time for connecting with influencers and finding those organic connections for link building. I was recently watching an old WBF 'Building a Monthly SEO Action Plan' and it missed the mark a bit on what I was hoping for. I was wanting Rand's time and what he prioritizes; reporting, link building, content refinement... What SEO time management strategy have you found useful? How do you break down your time each month/per campaign? Thanks!!!

Local SEO Best Practices for 2,000+ 'location' service area business
Hi Moz Community! We operate a business where we have a network of 2,000+ technicians around the country who help people repair their mobile phones. These techs do the fixing at the customer's location, making them service area businesses. Even after scouring all of the go-to places on local SEO, I'm struggling to find best practices for this type of situation - the fact that our techs are operating in service areas presents a number of challenges. The biggest one, it seems, is that inevitably service areas are going to overlap. When I talked to a Google rep on this he said this "might" cause our locations to get de-listed and we'd just have to test and find out. Other challenges include the fact that we cannot bulk upload the service areas of our techs, and we cannot bulk verify - meaning there is a ton of work to do at our scale. Any suggestions on where to go to find resources on this specific topic, or an example of someone doing this well we can model? Thanks everyone!

Benefits of "Buffer Websites" Marketing for Real Estate Firm.
A local seo firm has approached us and mentioned that we should incorporate something called buffer websites into our SEO. I work with a Houston based real estate agency that sells single family homes. In a nut shell they suggested that we create 5-10 separate standalone websites that each have 40-50 pages of unique copy for specific targeted keywords of our choosing. The idea would by that all these websites and copy would all point back to our main website and help generate substantial traffic. This concepts seems to have been a couple years ago and now sure if we should go this route. Would we be better off just building unique copy on the main site and not focus on the 5-10 websites we would need to deal with? C

Developing a content marketing strategy for a social security disability firm.
I have a client that I've been working with for a little over a year now and I've been struggling to generate new business from his online presence. Initially, I completely re-designed his website with semantically correct html markup, and used all of typical, site level SEO tactics, i.e., keywords in title tags, h tags, paragraphs, correct NAP, etc. We've only seen very low marginal returns off of our efforts. Part of the problem is that my client is not an attorney, but instead he runs a social security disability advocacy firm. He still performs all of the operations that an attorney performs, but due to the fact that he is not an attorney, we cannot optimize his site for search phrases containing "attorney", which is a common keyword that people would generally use to find the services that my client offers. So I've decided to try a different approach. A content marketing approach. The only reason I prolonged avoided this approach for so long is that, to be frank, I had no idea how to target his ideal clients with content. After talking to my client the other day and recommending this new approach, I uncovered some similarities between his previous clients. Most his clients live in rural areas, and they like nascar, hunting, fishing, etc. So I suggested that I create blog for him, and begin finding some freelance writers that can create some killer content about nascar, hunting and fishing. Admittedly, I don't have a much experience with a content marketing approach, but I want to learn everything there is to know about it. I guess I'm a little unsure about this approach that we're getting ready to try, and would love to hear from some people that have been down this path, and might be able to offer any advice. I really want to help my client's business flourish, and it's now very clear to me that solely relying on an old SEO line of thinking is not doing the trick anymore. Any tips, tactics and strategies would be greatly appreciated. Am I on the right track here? How would we get this content in front of his ideal clients, and market it in such a way that he will get a good return on his investment?
