Question regarding international SEO
-
Hi there,
I have a question regarding international SEO and the APAC region in particular. We currently have a website extension .com and offer our content in English. However, we notice that our website hardly ranks in Google in the APAC region, while one of the main languages in that region is also English.
I figure one way would be to set up .com/sg/ (or .com/au/ or .com/nz/), but then the content would still be in English. So wouldn't that be counted as duplicate content?
Does anyone have experience in improving website rankings for various English-speaking countries, without creating duplicate content? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Billy,
The best way is to create a landing page for each location that you want to rank including the keyword in the URL and content. Because the URL is different, meta tags, and part of the content is not considered duplicate content, many nationwide companies use these techniques.
Examples:
Both are acceptable
www.website.com/sg/yishun/seo-service
www.website.com/singapore-yishun-seo-serviceXYZ offers SEO service in Yishun, SG
XYZ offers SEO service in Yishun SingaporeMake sure to replace part of the content with the keywords and location for every landing page.
This could be a copy of the home page or service with the above information. Here is the best example of a nationwide communication company in the US targeting all states and cities.
Florida: https://locations.xfinity.com/fl/
Washington: https://locations.xfinity.com/wa/Hope this helps.

Big Ranking fluctuations
Hi all, 👉 we need your help/expertise. For a longer period of time we (https://bluebillywig.com) experience huge increases and decreases on a day/week ly basis for our keywords. We are moving from positions in the top 3 to positions in the top 50. The site has been fully screened for technical issues, indexation problems and we have also checked the positions of competitors (where we do not see the fluctuations). Example keywords where we see the issue: Gepersonaliseerde video Video content protection. See screenshots example bbw.png BBW-example.png If somebody has any suggestions, let us know.

I have a wordpress wocommerce website where I have uploaded 100s of products but it's giving me error in GSC under merchant listing tab. When I tested it show missing field image and missing field price. I have done everything according to https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/product#merchant-listing-experiences and applied fixed i.e. images are 800x800 and price range is also there. What else can be done here?!merchant listing.jpg

Google not detecting Hreflang
Hey everybody, We recently migrated our .co.uk to .com/en. Google for some reason is saying that the .com/en version has no hfrelang tags - even though they are clearly there and have had the same implementation as other language versions of the website. We also did a previous migration 6 months ago for the german version of our website and no hreflang problems there. We add our hreflang tags to our sitemap - which you can find here:

Internal Links Not Registering
Hey everybody. In Moz when I compare link profiles to my competitors my domain is showing up as only having 4 internal follow links, and 0 nofollow. I know for a fact this is not the case however it is disconcerting. Is there any reason why Moz wouldn't be able to pick up my internal links? Is there a difference when linking internally by "/page_a" vs actually spelling out the entire URL i.e. "https://www.mysite.com/page_a"

International Market
Hello Moz friends, I am new to the tool and I was wondering if anybody has a best practice for international markets. I used to work with a different tool before and handling international markets has definitely been a challenge for it. What is the best way to set up campaigns/ keyword lists? By country? By topic? How helpful is the keyword explorer and reporting for international markets? I really appreciate your help.

SEO in foreign languages
Hi everyone, I currently run a website called Barquitos www.barquitos.com The site is an extension of a shop that is based here in Spain. Though because the town is particularly touristy we built the website to offer English and Spanish as language options on the site. English on Barquitos.com and Spanish through a sub domain es.barquitos.com. In an ideal world I want to rank the English version for English phrases on Google.co.uk, and the Spanish sub domain on es.barquitos.com. However, my Spanish is only at a reasonable standard, probably not good enough to look at writing quality content in Spanish. Is building up the Page Authority and Domain authority for the English main domain enough to rank the Spanish sub domain or do we need a focussed approach for both languages? Any tips or advice for helping to rank sub domains in foreign languages would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone Stu

B2B International Subdirectory - How Unique is Unique?
With the power to upload unique xml sitemaps for a subdirectory targeting the UK, geo-target the UK in WebmasterTools, and the ability to adjust content to adhere to en-gb standards, would it still be essential for a site to re-write all of it's content if it wanted to rank well or could we just use the same content as our en-us pages with the dialect changes and other tools mentioned above? Not interested in unique TLDs or subdomains.
