Unsolved Google results linking domains
-
When I check the linking domains of a root domain, a lot of Google results from other countries appear. Does this mean all of these domains are linking to my root domain? Can anybody explain this and tell me if this can be seen as spam or not?

Google results linking domains refer to the number of unique domains that link to a specific webpage that appears in the search engine results pages (SERPs) of Google. In other words, if multiple websites link to a particular page, it can indicate that the content on that page is high-quality and relevant to the topic.
Google considers the quality and quantity of backlinks to a webpage as a ranking factor in its algorithm. Therefore, pages with a higher number of linking domains may have a better chance of ranking higher in search results for relevant queries. However, it's important to note that not all links are created equal, and Google also takes into account other factors such as the relevance and authority of the linking domains.
To check the number of linking domains for a webpage, you can use various SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Moz, Majestic, or SEMrush. These tools can provide you with a detailed analysis of a website's backlink profile, including the number of linking domains, the authority of those domains, and other metrics that can help you evaluate the quality of a website's backlinks.

When you check the linking domains of a root domain, you may see Google results from other countries because search results can vary depending on your location and search settings. This does not necessarily mean that all of these domains are linking to your root domain.
To determine if a link from a foreign website is considered spam or not, you should evaluate the quality and relevance of the linking website. If the website is a reputable source in its respective country or language, and the link is relevant to your content, then it can be considered a legitimate link. On the other hand, if the linking website has low-quality content or appears to be part of a network of spammy websites, then the link may be considered spam.
It's important to note that the quantity of links is not the only factor that search engines consider when evaluating the quality and relevance of a website. The quality and relevance of the linking website, the anchor text used for the link, and the context of the link all play a role in determining the value of a link.
In summary, the appearance of search results from other countries when checking the linking domains of a root domain is not necessarily an indication of spammy links. To evaluate the quality of a link, you should consider the relevance and reputation of the linking website.

What is the relationship between inbound links and linking domains?
In doing competitor research, there's a specific competitor that has fewer linking domains, but dramatically more inbound links. How do these two relate to each other? I do have a higher domain authority and more internal followed links with them having more internal nofollow and external (both follow and nofollow) links. I'm trying to understand how they can have 3.7k linking domains and 4.8 million inbound links while I have 4.1k linking domains and only 601k inbound links. What really defines an inbound link and what's there relationship between inbound links and linking domains?

Domain Authority (DA) in Moz Pro changed only within the last 1-2 months?
Has anyone noticed that the Domain Authority (DA) as reported in Moz Pro has changed only within the last 1-2 months? We have screen shots showing plots of DA vs competitors w/ line graph 2 months ago starting in NOV 2017 which today starting JAN 2018 and comparing shows DA up to 50% different!

The change is seen both in the Links Overview and under the Spam Score sections still marked "NEW". Can Moz confirm that it's only recently within the last 2 months that in Moz Pro the NEW DA numbers have retroactively been updated even though the new Link Explorer has been publicly out since APR 30 from https://moz.com/community/q/moz-s-new-link-explorer-including-our-revamped-index-and-da-pa-scores-is-now-open-to-everyone? Look at the top green line starting ~12 months ago on both graphs, w/ old below 40 and new above 50. We've seen even greater differences for other tracked domains. Thanks! view0 -
The New Link Explorer (which will replace Open Site Explorer) is Now in Beta
Howdy Moz friends, Today, the Moz team is making a new tool -- Link Explorer -- available in private beta for Moz Pro subscribers (including those taking a free trial). The tool is still a little ways out from public launch, but we wanted to get your feedback to help make it the best product it can be. What's Link Explorer? In essence, it's a replacement for Open Site Explorer (Moz's tool for link discovery, competitive analysis, and link building) that addresses many of its most pernicious challenges, such as: Daily updates - no longer will you need to wait a month or two to see a new DA score or the links you built last week. Link Explorer updates every 24 hours with all the new links we've discovered that day, and gives a new DA score each night. A MUCH bigger index - OSE has always been known for having quality links, but quantity has been an issue. No longer. The new tool's link index is more than 20 times larger than Open Site Explorer's, covering trillions of links across hundreds of billions of pages, while maintaining a focus on high quality domains and pages. Additional functionality - new graphs (like link growth over time), new charts (like gained+lost links), new filters and sorts, and some new kinds of data coming soon. Improved metrics - Domain Authority and Page Authority have both been upgraded to have better correlations with Google's rankings (and they now update every 24 hours) Insanely fast - page load times on the new tool are almost as fast as Google's results 🙂 Less time waiting means more time to dig into results Link Tracking Lists - check a box next to any links of interest and you can build lists in the tool to track them over time, see whether/when they link, prioritize your outreach efforts, and (in the future) get aggregated data and alerts about those links There's much more to come, but we'd love for you to check out Link Explorer, find bugs, report things you love (and don't), and help us make it the best possible product for you and your teams. You can leave feedback here in this Q+A thread, email help@moz.com, or send feedback through the feedback form in Link Explorer.

Drop in Domain Authority across 20 sites
Hi I monitor and track 20-25 sites. I got a -1 in DA across the board this month. Has anyone else experienced this. It's possible my server/cms guys have made a global change. Has anyone at Moz or anyone in the community experienced this?

Permanent 301 - Domain Authority
Hi, we created a new website which we also gave a new url.
Link Explorer | | DIGIHOUSE
We made a permanent 301 for the complete domain. www.digihouse.at -> www.digihouse-werbeagentur.at Google checked that and we rank minimum as good as with the old domain.
But in MOZ Tools the Domain Authority is very bad now.
So i think the 301 influences Google but not the Moz Tools?
The Domain Authority will not be inherited in Moz Tools? thxChris0
