Backlinks from local businesses
-
Hello,
I need to make sure I understand this correctly.
Will it help my SEO if I:
-
find local businesses with a good DA & low spam score
-
select businesses that are somehow related to mine (Insurance Agency)
-
offer to guest post and include a backlink on their blog ( ask them if they'd like to reciprocate)
For example, businesses such as
Roofing companies
Contractors
moving companies
etcPlease let me know if there's anything I'm missing? Many thanks

Backlinks from companies local to your area will also dramatically enhance your SEO, not to mention your trust factor, especially in the Dubai market. As an web development company in Dubai, you can collaborate with other local businesses by working for them and asking to include a backlink in return. Joining local directories may also work, or maybe sponsoring events that will link your website development company. These local backlinks improve the visibility of your site but also build trust with the potential clients showing connections within the community and as a reputable website development company in Dubai.

I have a same local business website and i create manually backlinks, and i create mix backlinks for my website my website is all about [Wordle UK (https://www.nytimeswordle.co.uk/) and ,mostly i create backlinks on same niche that help me a lot.

Your approach sounds solid! Targeting local businesses with good DA and low spam scores, especially those related to your industry, and offering guest posts with backlinks is a smart SEO strategy. Just ensure the content is relevant and valuable for their audience. You might also consider diversifying your backlink profile with other methods like directories or local sponsorships. you can also checkout Husky official website to analyze how they build quality backlinks.

Yes, your strategy looks solid! Partnering with local businesses that have good Domain Authority (DA) and low spam scores will help your SEO. Focus on related businesses (like financial advisors or mortgage brokers) for more relevant backlinks. Offering guest posts with a backlink is a great idea, and while reciprocal links can work, use them sparingly to avoid overdoing it. Building genuine partnerships in your industry will be key to improving your rankings.

@gooday2day Another thing to consider is focusing on high-quality content for those guest posts. It'll resonate more with their audience if you can offer valuable insights, like how your insurance works alongside mortgage brokers or real estate agent's offerings. By the way, good thinking about resource smoothing; it is a smart way to keep everything manageable. It is found to affect performance positively. Back to the main topic, when doing outreach, make sure to build genuine relationships with these businesses - they're more likely to collaborate again in the future if the first experience goes well. That long-term connection can lead to even more backlink opportunities.
-
You're totally on the right track - guest posting on local businesses' blogs is the right way to score backlinks. And yes, aiming for good DA and low spam score is key. But here's the twist: think about the kind of businesses whose audience might actually be shopping for insurance.
Roofing companies and contractors are solid, but you might also want to cozy up to real estate agents, mortgage brokers, or even financial planners. If you think about it, their clients are more likely to be in that “I-need-insurance” mindset. Now, I know this whole SEO/backlinking thing can feel overwhelming, to say the least (yep, been there). There's actually a great piece here on Moz's blog that can shed some more light on the topic. And also there are a couple of ways to go about it as far as I know.
If you're planning to handle it in-house, you’ll need a solid team with experience. Just keep in mind that you will probably need to implement some resource smoothing when a lot of people are managing a project. I picked up the idea of this strategy a couple of years ago and it helps me balance workloads by finding the most important tasks that need to be done and spreading them out over time to avoid crunches.
For example, instead of overwhelming your team with content creation and backlinks (with outreach) at once, you prioritize key steps and make sure they’re spaced out. That way you meet all the deadlines without anyone getting burned out.
And hey, if all this SEO work starts to feel like too much, find a solid agency that gets your industry. Just make sure they know their stuff, and don’t be afraid to ask for case studies to see how they've performed for businesses like yours.

@unusualagencyYour strategy is spot on! Here’s a quick recap and some additional tips:
Local businesses with good DA & low spam score: Absolutely a good move, as reputable sites pass stronger SEO value.
Relevant businesses: Prioritize those more closely aligned with your industry, like financial advisors or real estate agencies, but including complementary businesses like contractors or roofing companies still works well for broader exposure.
Guest posts with backlinks: Make sure the content is relevant and valuable, and that backlink placements are natural to maintain credibility.
Reciprocal links: Be careful not to overdo it. Focus on quality relationships to avoid any search engine penalties.
Additional tips:
Diversify backlinks: Reach out to industry-specific blogs, media, and other authoritative sources.
Monitor regularly: Keep an eye on your backlinks to maintain quality.
If you need further guidance, feel free to ask! -
Yes, your approach will help your SEO if done correctly. Here's a breakdown:
Find Local Businesses with Good DA & Low Spam Scores: A strong domain authority (DA) and low spam score increase the chances of getting quality backlinks.
Select Related Businesses: Businesses like roofing, contractors, and moving companies make sense as they cater to homeowners, who are potential insurance clients. Ensure there's a logical connection.
Guest Posting with Backlinks: Offering guest posts with backlinks is an effective strategy. Make sure the content is relevant, high-quality, and adds value.
Reciprocal Backlinks: Offering reciprocal links is fine, but don't overdo it, as excessive link exchanges can appear manipulative to search engines.
Consider adding content diversity (e.g., infographics, case studies) and monitoring link quality to maximize SEO benefits.

etcYes, targeting local businesses with a good Domain Authority (DA) and low spam score can benefit your SEO, especially if these businesses are relevant to your industry in some way. By offering to guest post on their blog and including a backlink to your insurance agency, you can build valuable backlinks, which are crucial for SEO. Reciprocal linking, where they also link back to your site, can further improve authority if done with caution to avoid over-linking.
-
Backlinks from local businesses can greatly boost your local SEO efforts. When businesses in your area link to your site, it signals to search engines that your site is relevant to that location. For example, if your business is based in Mumbai and other local businesses or directories link to you, it can enhance your authority in local search results. Building relationships with nearby businesses and being listed in local directories can effectively increase your visibility in local searches.

Just ensure the businesses are somewhat related to yours, and the content adds value to their audience. Focus on quality over quantity, use natural anchor text, and aim for genuine connections rather than forced link exchanges.

Hi, its better to write ever green content marketing, that's white hat, top quality, follows the advice of Google E-EAT, then you can earn do-follow links.
-
Yes, you're on the right track,
but there are a few things to consider:1) Relevance matters most
While high DA and low spam score are important, the relevance of the website to your business is critical. Try to target businesses more closely related to insurance (e.g., financial services, real estate).2 Guest post quality:
Ensure your guest posts provide value to their audience and are not just focused on getting a backlink. This boosts your credibility and SEO impact.3 Avoid reciprocal linking:
Google may view excessive reciprocal linking as manipulative. It’s fine occasionally but avoid overdoing it.Hope this will help you. Thank You

@LinkBuilderFaiz You will assist me in which way? Do you have paid or unpaid assistance???

@laurentjb Yes, targeting local businesses with high DA and low spam scores can improve your SEO. Choosing related industries (like roofing or moving companies) adds relevance. Offering guest posts with backlinks and requesting reciprocal links is effective. Just ensure your content is high-quality and monitor the impact on your SEO.
-
@laurentjb Hi!
In my experience:
- Find real local businesses that topically overlap with your business.
- I wouldn't focus on DA or "spam scores."
- Instead of offering to guest post, I might find ways to do content marketing collaborations.
- Careful with the reciprocal linking (Excessive link exchanges are viewed a spam).
If you struggle finding businesses that topically overlap, I've found that just focusing on geographic relevance can be sufficient.
Find ways to collaborate with other local business leaders.
-
Yes, It will definitely affect your ranking, all these things are better for local seo, I recommend you to use local keywords variation. I tell you again keyword variation not direct use keywords. I personally do this I ranked most of my pages on top. Like, if you have 1000 words of content then make sure you use keywords variation in top 25% content, then in another 50% of content mix your 4-5 keywords and use them and in last 25% content use deirect keywords, it will help you.
-
I Will assist you with backlinks if you so desire.
-
@laurentjb Hello,
Your approach seems solid, and it can indeed help your SEO if done correctly.
Here's a quick breakdown:
-
Finding local businesses with good DA & low spam score:Yes, focusing on websites with high domain authority (DA) and low spam scores is a great strategy. These factors indicate that the site is reputable and can pass valuable link equity to your site.
-
Selecting businesses related to yours: It's important to focus on businesses that are contextually relevant to your niche. While industries like roofing, contracting, and moving are somewhat related, you might want to prioritize those that are more closely aligned with your industry. For example, financial advisors, mortgage brokers, or real estate agencies might be more relevant.
-
Offering guest posts with backlinks: Guest posting is a well-established method for building backlinks. Just ensure that the content you provide is high-quality and genuinely useful to their audience. Also, make sure the backlink placement feels natural.
-
Reciprocal links: While exchanging backlinks can be beneficial, be cautious. If done excessively or unnaturally, it might raise red flags with search engines. Aim for genuine relationships and focus on quality over quantity.
Additional Tips:
- Diversify your backlink profile: Don't rely solely on local businesses. Consider reaching out to industry blogs, news sites, and other authoritative platforms.
- Monitor your backlinks: Regularly check the quality of backlinks to ensure they maintain their value over time.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Many thanks.

Unsolved Struggling to recouple backlinks that lead to 404 after a redesign launch
We had a site redesign launch a few months ago. Due to other priorities / a lot of things going on, there were a decent amount of URLs that 404ed. We implemented a drupal module search404 to redirect all of these to the homepage or a search results page that pulls search terms from the 404 page. Our goal is to recoup SEO value since we saw a notable dip in domain authority and amount of links after launch. We know a catch-all automated solution like this isn't ideal because it's better to 301 each page to its most relevant live page. For example, if CNN.com links to our Texas location, it's better to 301 to our new texas page than a homepage or search page. The problem is that since we implemented this catch all search404 module, it seems like tools like Moz Pro and Screaming Frog are not picking up the backlinks from external sites that 404 since they were "fixed" by the search404 module. Any ideas on solutions? We're trying to avoid tedious or risky solutions like undoing the module, which may bring back the 404s but cause some UX and SEO issues so we can run a SF crawl. Or going through every link in our link profile manually to check.

Unsolved Inaccurate backlinks being listed in Moz campaign

Blogging for backlinks
I have a real estate website. I would like to start blogging on blogs not related to real estate. I like reading web design, html, css, php, word press etc... blogs. I want to start talking to the bloggers using my real name (not keyword anchor text) on their blog. I'd like to have authentic conversations; however, will this confuse google about my site? If I am using my name as anchor text on sites about webdesign and linking back to a real estate website, what will that do to the SEO? It's also important to consider one other detail. I have determined through link building in real estate related fields that it's really hard to find good domains/page rank when compared to the fields above. I could get a dozen great links in 10 minutes on the above subjets AND be legitimately engaging in conversation with my name, not keywords... Does the invention of "author rank" make this more viable?
