And i get a thumbs down(arggg!!) no authorship data recognised but here's the mark up:
Author: [xxxxxxx](https://plus.google.com/u/0/114149997094688010790/?<br /> rel=author) onpafe http://www.netconstruct.co.uk/services/digital-marketing/So please can someone give me any insight into why this is not working
Grazie,
David!!IGNORE!! Spotted a gap in the authorship code afre the the question mark! Now it recognisies authorship mark up!

Hey Chris, thnk you for that bit of advice that is something I'll foolow here on in

The only caveat to your approach, Gregory, is that people who do this usually put that code in the head of their template - which means it will appear on all pages of the site. Google is very clear that authorship should only be applied to individual "article"-type pages. E.g pages clearly and identifiably written by a particular author. So NOT things like category pages, product listings, services pages etc.
Something to be very careful of when using the authorship code in headers. I strongly suspect that incorrect use like this is one of the many reasons why sites that have implemented it this way may not be seeing it take effect in the SERPS.
Paul
P.S. Obviously not a problems for Publisher implementation as that does apply sitewide.

If I publish and page and then later add authorship, it can take a long time before Google adds the author image to the SERP. However, if I publish a page with the author markup and then Google indexes the page, the author image is included in the SERP when the page appears in the SERP. So, the lesson I have learned going forward is to make sure the author markup is correct for all newly published pages, because if you get it wrong or add it later after publishing the page, it can take many weeks for Google to use it.
Best,

Hi David. Or it can be done more simply (If you have G+ pages for both your self and you business) by just putting these two lines in the head of your page
where publisher is your G+ biz page.

Glad you fixed it, also agree it's a bit poo. Set up publisher and author on some sites and Google has yet to think its worthy for SERPs.

Metadescription not being pulled by Google? Yoast v SmartCrawl?
Hey guys, For whatever reason, Google isn't pulling the metadescriptions I've provided for a wordpress site I'm working on. We had both Yoast and SmartCrawl installed, so I thought maybe they were confusing Google and deactivated Yoast. Unfortunately, that didn't fix the issue. Instead of using the text I've plugged into SmartCrawl, Google is just using snippets from the blog posts... And it's happening for every single post, leading to a huge uptick in metadata issues in moz. Any idea how to fix this?? Thank you!

Google finding my meta descriptions
I recently had my site redone (about a year ago). Since then google has not been using my meta descriptions much and more so using the descriptions within my site. Is there a reason for this? An example would be http://www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/vrp/unit/kolea-14/

OMG! does Google really consider text-decoration:none as a hidden link?
So I was reading this article today https://www.mattcutts.com/blog/hidden-links/ Can setting a link to the same color as regular text and applying text-decoration:none really be considered a 'hidden link'?

Blogposts and Google Rankings
I'm pretty new to all of this, my new website is starting to come along nicely in the SERPs, now appear on page 4 for my main key phrases were I didn't appear last week at all. I'm now on a mission to get myself ranked higher but my website is pretty much done... apart from the ongoing blogposts that I need to add, I'm a wedding photographer so every shoot is going on to it. My question, my blogposts aren't necessarily targeting my main key phrase, it might be mentioned once or twice but ultimately it'll most likely be the venue that steals the targeting. By adding the blogposts (I still have 36 to do) and using my keyphrase sparing, will this help to elevate me from page 4 in google? I know that I still need to build backlinks etc to but just something I can't seem to find an answer for on google hehe.

On my site, www.myagingfolks.com, only a small number of my pages appear to be indexed by google or yahoo. Is that due to not having an XML sitemap, keywords, or some other problem?

Google webmaster tools data update frequency?
What is the lag time for changes to a site to be reflected in Google webmaster tools Diagnostics section? They pointed out some duplicate titles which I fixed a week ago and yet they still show up as an HTML Suggestion. What has your experience been with making changes and then seeing them reflected in the HTML Suggestions section? My site is crawled every day, including the pages I have updated with new titles. Seems like it takes a while for the data to trickle into Webmaster tools, no?
