What is the best way to differentiate and optimize two similar websites's SEO, having in mind that they do not produce content?

You're welcome, Emma. It's truly my pleasure! Good luck with the work ahead.

Thank you for your comprehensive analysis Miriam, I really appreciate your time and effort.
Thanks for helping me, I will try to use your guidelines in practice.
Have a great day

Hi Emma,
It's so helpful that you've shared the links. Thanks!
Okay, so unfortunately, what this brand has done is to create duplicate websites with duplicate content on them. As this is a national bank, with locations in two states, and we're talking about what an SEO would do here, the answer is, an SEO would almost assuredly advise this brand to consolidate its presence into a single website. If the bank chose to go with two domains because they might have believed this would help their rankings, any benefits of that are likely being undermined by the fact that they've made a misstep by creating sites not just with some, but with what seems to be 100% duplicate content.
So, rather than worrying about how to differentiate duplicate websites, the brand will be best served by consolidating to a single, branded domain. This takes away any concerns about duplicate content, or any need to differentiate. They can simply have a single site, with a unique page for each branch.
It might help, in speaking to the CEO or CMO, to have them look at a larger bank, like Bank of America. They have a single, corporate website. They don't have 50 websites to represent the 50 states they serve. If the brand here continues to grow, it will be heading that way, having to manage 3, 10, 20 websites. It's not a good plan for the future. So, hopefully, while the business only has locations in 2 states, they can refine their marketing strategy, consolidate, and then set about thinking of ways to invest wisely in content dev, social outreach, etc, that is brand-wide, while also investing in making their location landing pages on the website as helpful and highly-converting as they can possibly be.
Hope this helps!

The websites look the same, have the same structure, they offer the same services. Both of them don't have any social media website and they don't produce content. What now?

Hey Emma,
Donald's advice is good. I noticed you categorized this thread under Local Website Optimization and am curious if you are talking about the same local business publishing two websites. There can be quite a few nuances to that, if so. Please, feel free to provide further details if you'd like further community input

Emma George,
You will have to write custom titles and descriptions for each property. Each site might not produce content but they should posses content. Make sure the content is original to each site and you should be well upon your way.
Thanks
Don

Multilanguage Website
Hi, I am responsible for managing a multilingual website. I have two questions regarding SEO, based on the structure of the website. Question 1. At the moment we have one website for UK English and one for US English .com/en-gb/ .com/en-us/ Which would be the pros and cons of merging the two website in one? Question 2. For the German website they moved it under .de dominion, I think it would be better from an SEO perspective to have it as the Italian and French, under .com/de Which would be the pros and cons of migrating German website under .com/de? Thanks

How many SEO clients do you handle?
I work in a small web & design agency who started offering SEO 2 yrs ago as it made sense due to them building websites. There have been 2 previous people to me and I now work there 3 days a week and they also have a junior who knew nothing before she started working for us. She mainly works for me. My question is, how many clients do you think would be reasonable to work on? We currently have around 55 and I have been working there for nearly 5 months now and haven't even got to half of the sites to do some work on. I've told them the client list is way too big and we should only have around 15 clients max. However they don't want to lose the money from the already paying clients so won't get rid of any and keep adding new ones Their systems were a mess and had no reporting or useful software so I had to investiagte and deploy that, along with project management software. Their analytics is also a mess and have employed a contractor to help sort that out too. It's like they were offering SEO services but had no idea or structure to what they did. Meta descriptions were cherry picked which ones to be done, so say 50/60 on a site not filled in. So it's not like I have 45 or so well maintained accounts. They're all a mess. Then the latest 10 new ones are all new sites so All need a lot of work. I'm starting to feel incredibly overwhelmed and oppressed by it all and wanted to see what other SEO professionals thought about it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What is the SEO effect of schema subtype deprecation? Do I really have to update the subtype if there isn't a suitable alternative?
Could someone please elaborate on the SEO effect of schema subtype deprecation? Does it even matter? The Local business properties section of developers.google.com says to: Define each local business location as a LocalBusiness type. Use the most specific LocalBusiness sub-type possible; for example, Restaurant, DaySpa, HealthClub, and so on. Unfortunately, the ProfessionalService page of schema.org states that ProfessionalService has been deprecated and many of my clients don't fit anywhere else (or if they do it's not a LocalBusiness subtype). I find it inconvenient to have to modify my different clients' JSON-LD from LocalBusiness to ProfessionalService back to LocalBusiness. I'm not saying this happens every day but how does one keep up with it all? I'm really trying to take advantage of the numerous types, attributes, etc., in structured data but I feel the more I implement, the harder it will be to update later (true of many things, of course). I do feel this is important and that a better workflow could be the answer. If you have something that works for you, please let us know. If you think it's not important tell us why not? (Why Google is wrong) I understand there is always a better use of our time, but I'd like to limit the discussion to solving this Google/Schema.org deprecation issue specifically.

Best Sources for Advertising Commercial Real Estate?
After spending over $50,000 and 3 years on web site development and SEO I realized that advertising on such commercial real estate sites as Loopnet and Cityfeet were more cost effective for developing leads for identifying businesses seeking commercial space in New York City. My firm is a tenant rep brokerage assisting tenants in the acquisition of office, showroom and commercial lofts space in Manhattan. When my firmswitched to Loopnet I was astounded that this site generated leads at a lower cost and a greater quantity than my private branded website (www.metro-manhattan.com). I would have thought that a private branded site would be more effective. Now 2 years later I am having issued with Loopnet and can no longer advertise there. Does any one have any suggestions concerning business websites where we can advertise commercial tenant representation services in Manhattan? Sites like www.officespace.com look like they have potential. LinkedIn sounds like a good demographic but I am concerned that advertising would only generate requests for links rather than generating bona fide leads. Thoughts??? Thanks, Alan

Onsite Optimization for 2 Locations on One Site
Hello, We have multiple client who have 2 office locations n the same state in varying counties and would like to have their site rank for two counties. Is this plausible ? For instance they would like their header tags to read "Lawyer in Middlesex & Monmouth County NJ" Rather than "Middlesex County NJ Lawyer" Would this be an effective strategy or be seen as stuffing by Google?

What to do with localised landing pages on listings website - Canonical question
Hi Run a pet listings website and we had tonnes of duplicate content that we have resolved. But not sure what to do with the localised landing pages. We have everything pointing back back to the main listings URL http://www.dogscatsandpets.co.uk/for-sale-stud-and-adoption/ but haven't pointed the URLs that show pets for specific towns and cities eg http://www.dogscatsandpets.co.uk/for-sale/dogs-and-puppies/in-city-of-london/ back to the main url. Obviously this is giving us duplicate content issues, but these pages do rank in local search and drive traffic into the site. So my question is should we canonicalise the local pages back to the main url and if we do will this mean our local landing pages will no longer rank? Is there any alternatives?

Should digital marketing agencies treat SEO differently when it comes to homepage content?
When I review competitor digital agency sites, they seem to have very little homepage content. But how would this be beneficial in gaining a higher SERP rank?
