Google my business phone reporting? Doesnt cross state lines.
-
We have a branch in Toledo Ohio, which is close to the Michigan border. Cleary we get calls for direction from Michigan customers. However, our phone reporting does not cross the state line. Any ideas? This happens at other branches that cross state lines as well.

Michael, just wanted to follow up on this to let you know that I did look into this further, and found examples of phone reporting crossing multiple state lines. In some cases, reporting was for huge areas. So, again, I don't believe there's a set cutoff.

@bakergraphix_yahoo-com What a great question this is, and the fact is, while I see a variety of cutoff points within Google My Business Insights reporting on requests for driving directions, I don't believe I've ever seen anyone calculate whether there is an average radius for the cutoff. I'm sorry not have an answer for you. Yes, you likely are getting these requests from just over the border! Your question interested me enough to investigate further. I'll follow up if I learn more.

@miriamellis sorry for the delayed response. Within google my business insights the map under directions request only goes up to the state line. There is no doubt that people from Michigan ask for directions to our Toledo Ohio branch.

Hi Michael,
Are you referring to the reporting within GMB Insights in your Google My Business dashboard, or some other form of call tracking?

Google Reviews Rich Snippets
Howdy Moz fans! Does anyone know if you can use Google Reviews as a Rich Snippet in the actual Google listing for your business? It seems strange that you can have this for widgets like Trust Pilot and Reviews.co.uk and not Google Reviews. Surely Google allow you to display Google reviews on your site that can then be used for schema mark up? Maybe they don't because those reviews are used for local searches? Hope this makes sense. David.

I just found original business name for client - its not the same as GMB or any aggregate site. What to do?
the business filing with the Secretary of State is a name of an individual (e.g. Matthew Smith, M.D.). This is on reflected on Localeze and such. However, the business is operating under a name "Healthy Body and Minds Clinic", which is the Facebook, Google My Business, and website name and info. So, how is it best to get consistency in NAP with the two different business names being used? (Ideally, no change in State registration or filing for a DBA). Thanks much! One idea I have seen is to include both and separate them by a colon. As in "Healthy Body and Minds Clinic : Matthew Smith, M.D." I appreciate any suggestions or tips to help. Thanks.

Google Knowledge graph card
Hi everyone, I've got quite a lot of good reviews on Google My Business, but I don't know how to get these to appear on my Knowledge Card. Any ideas for importing these across? I'd also like to include my social media tags in this card, but the HTML that I've tried to use has added the text to my homepage, whereas I wanted it invisible on the homepage but the social tags to show up in search. Cheers!

Why does this business have an average of 4.8 and not 5?
I was doing some research today and came across a business that has 5 reviews, all 5 stars. For some reason, their average is showing as 4.8, instead of a perfect 5. Looking at some other businesses, I see one with 4 5-stars, 1 4-star, and 1 1-star. 25/6 = 4.1666666. That would round to 4.2, but Google lists them as 4.3. Is Google just bad at math, or are they using some other factor in calculating these averages?

What's the best way to keep Google My Business reviews when the business changes names?
I work with an interior designer who is re-branding and changing her business name to focus specifically on windows. Can she keep her GMB reviews and just change the name of her business, then reverify with Google? She doesn't want to lose her current local pack ranking.

How useful is Google Plus to a business?
Is Google Plus really very beneficial to a business, as our experience is that this is where difficult customers or even competitors can write bad reviews?

Accessing and Displaying Google Reviews (Url and Structured Data Markup)
Hi, I have a Google+ Page for my business that has 25 Google reviews written by customers, of which I am rather proud that it is an aggregate of 4.9 🙂 I would like to brag more about this on my website and also like it to show up as Structured Data in as many organic results as possible (it shows up on local searches, not a problem). However, I cannot find anything resembling a permanent link to the reviews (other than the about page) on Google... Any clues ? Also, I would like to start including the Google review stars within any other structured data markup that I add to the website (such as a BusinessEvent for example) - But the FAQ's on Google seem to imply that the reviews and aggregates must be on my website and nothing seems to say that I may use the Google reviews or aggregate in my markup. Can anyone point me in the right direction please ?

Duplicate Google Plus Business Listings
Hi everyone, We have a client with duplicate Google Plus pages for two of their locations. The ones that are showing in search results for the most part are the ones we control, but we'd still like to report or delete the duplicates (which we do not control from our existing accounts). I used to notice the option to report a page as duplicate but no longer see that...any advice? Thanks!
