Gathering SERP analysis data
-
Hello,
Im gathering data to complete the spreadsheet found here http://seomoz.box.net/shared/g3vz0kxbbp (using Ben's).
A lot of the data can be gathered from open site explorer, the moz tool bar or via the key previded but where is the quickest place to gather the below info or is a lot of it manual gathering?
Lk RDs
KW Usage
LDA Score
Xct Anc. Txt Links
Xct Anc. Txt RDs
Part Anc. Txt
Links Part. Anc Txt RDs
Domain # Linking RDs
Tweets
FB Shares
Blog Links
-
Yeah, it would be a great tool if it gathered all of that I suppose. The social stuff and widespread SEO data is ok and in some ways II don't mind too much manually doing it but on some metrics I dont even know which tools to use to find the data:
Lk RDs
KW Usage
LDA Score
Xct Anc. Txt Links
Xct Anc. Txt RDs
Part Anc. Txt
Links Part. Anc Txt RDs
Domain # Linking RDs

If you ever find an automated way to get all of this data be sure to let me know. Since none exists yet, you're manually doing this stuff for now. There are tools like open site explorer that have this data for you to mine, but in the end you have to gather it yourself.

Moz Competitive Analysis Leaving Me Confused
I'm doing work for https://www.charlestonblackcabcompany.com While I know whey we are only at #2 for Charleston Party Bus as Google treats it as a branded keyword search and I don't know of any ways around that there are other competitors that don't make sense to me. These guys are #1 for Charleston Limo Service and we are further down the list despite having much better numbers across the board for months now with out seeing much gain. https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.charlestonlimo360.com%2F&filter=&source=external&target=page&group=1&page=1&sort=page_authority&anchor_id=&anchor_type=&anchor_text=&from_site= I'm talking over 6 months and still these guys and some others whose competitive analysis shows us beating them across the board still has us further down the rankings for over 6 months. It seems like the competitive analysis doesn't matter at all.

Can an https: impact (not provided) keywords in Google Analytics? Meaning if I make my site https: will it provide any more keywords. If not how can I get this data?
I have a site that I'd love to have more keyword data on. Can making my site an https: site give me more keyword data than leaving my site an http: site? Thanks!

Localized SERP Rankings - Multiple Questions...
The Google SERPs for my keywords are pretty regional. We are in the "IT Support Company" space. I've checked with friends in other parts of the country, and we don't show up in the SERPs in other parts of the country for KWs that we are ranking for locally. Questions: 1. I see both national and local players showing up in the SERPs. Is there any kind of formula for how Google decides who gets on the first page? 2. Some of my keywords trigger Google+ listings. How long does it take to show up in Google+, assuming we're optimized appropriately, and we have earned a placement? 3. For Moz's keyword ranking tool, how does it handle regional searches? Moz's tool is going to show different KW rankings than what I will see. My immediate concerns are rankings in my area (NY Metro), but we want to go national. How do we track rankings in different areas? 4. Is it possible to be on the 1st page with Google+ and Organic listings? 5. Do the Google+ 7 packs have generally better, or worse CTRs than similarly placed organic listings?

Why does the link analysis of my website say I have no links?
When I click on the "Link Analysis" tab it says my website has a domain authority of 1 and has 0's for every other category. When I run it in Open Site Explorer - it says I have a page authority of 51 with over 4600 links. My website also seems to be at a stand still over the past several weeks. Anyone know why the two Link Analysis is not showing anything? Thank you

Competitive Domain Analysis
What is the best way to improve this in reference to my competition? My site(s) are formatted well, returning no errors or warnings. I have removed my keyword meta-tag and tested my sites against the keywords that we want to appear under. Now I need to close the gap on the competition.

Discrepancy in Competitive Link Analysis?
I currently have a campaign set-up that monitors a few competitors compared to our site. When I look at the Root Domain Metrics I see that Company A has 2,053 total external links, and Company B has 1,632 total external links. I wanted to view these links in more detail so I ran Advanced Inbound Links reports. The reports returned 432 results for Company A and 693 results for Company B. Shouldn't these numbers match up with each other, or am I missing something? Also, I noticed that in the Inbound Links analysis for my competitors there are a number of results listed that are not actually inbound links, but are internal links from there own site. Is there a reason these are appearing? I am having problems because I am trying to use this campaign to show the improvements in our site vs our competitors. However, OSE shows dramatically fewer total external links for our site (about 260 vs 3200 in Webmaster Tools) and I cannot tell if the competitor data is accurate? Thanks

Competitor analysis
Hi This is obviously a well worn question (I've read the great blog by Sam Crocker last year - see below), but I'm looking for an updated set of opinions on sources of competitor data. The competitor data I'm interested in is traffic volumes either aggregated or disaggregated by referral source (i.e. organic search, PPC, email, social etc.). The types of data I've checked so far are Google Trends for websites (no disaggregation), Alexa (some good sources of free data) and Experian's Hitwise (too expensive for my current needs). In addition I'm aware that Compete will be providing an interface for such data in the UK in January at reasonable rates for what I'm after. I'm interested in views on these and other sources in relation to experience of their relative accuracy, costs, pros, con etc. Ideally I'm looking for something that is free, comprehensive, and is not being used by the competition - is that too much to ask!!! 😉 Any inputs would be greatly appeciated. Thanks in advance! Neil Sam's great blog: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/monitor-competitor-traffic

What is the right way to due a competitive Link analysis?
Trying to use the saturation report suggestion with no luck for google.com,and looking for away to benchmark either Pagerank or page authority to figure out how many links are required to overr take competitors from diversified sources. What is the process to do this to get the best results for the client.
