More "new" root domains or more pages on older domains?
-
I have been slowly building links via personal/professional networking, press from art shows, blogging, and such.
I work with several non related domains & local blogs & press outlets, it is pretty easy for me to add a few new pages of content along with text links.
Or should I just concentrate on getting links from totally "new" domains that have never linked to me before?

concentrating on new domains +3
adding links from already linked domains +2
adding new pages to my main domain +1
(I do realize that not all domains are created equal)
I'll get to work on that.

I believe that the wider you cast your net, the more fish you catch.
I would rather have one link from each of 10 different sites, than 10 links from one site. Or even 100 links from one site, assuming the sites were of equal power.
But I also think it is nice to have a few different links, pointing to different content you produce, even from one site.
For example, a big site links to my newspaper, with several hundred thousand links. It is because they put the link in their sidebar. I am very grateful for that, because we get visitors from there. I much prefer the links they have directly to stories that relate to their audience, because not only do we get repeat visitors, but they are more targeted and more likely to read more than one story on the same subject.
I also notice we have a single link from thousands of small websites, linking directly to a particular story. That definitely seems to help those individual stories.
Most links that you don't solicit are good, but I think links from more new sites are better.

Transferring inbound links to new domains
Hi, I've recently changed domains and have redirected all traffic from the old site to the new one. The problem is that none of my built links for the old domain are showing up for the new domain (I use moz.com/researchtools/ose/) I've read a few articles saying it's best practice to get in touch with the people that are linking to your old website to let them know the address has changed. When I search for my old domain using moz.com/researchtools/ose/ it says there is 0 established links. I know this isn't the case as I've visited one of the sites that does still list this domain. Is there a way of getting a list of my old domain's backlinks so I can contact them? I didn't make a list before redirecting. Thank you.

Better to redirect domain or to link from home page?
Hi, I have a niche directory and sometimes clients remove themselves because they have discontinued their business practice. If they sometimes provide me with their own website (as they will no longer use it either), is it wiser for me to: a) directly point their URL 301 to my own directory b) keep their website as is, and add a url link to my directory in their homepage c) keep their website as is, and add an anchored link with the industry keyword to my directory Thanks! Publish content on current domain for content boost or new domain for links?
I have about 1000 unique and organically generated articles. My quote compare business has had briefs submitted by clients for over two years. The content has only been accessible to registered members. I want to polish it ASAP. Is it better to publish the content on the existing website in a sub folder or set up a new website to publish the content and have every article link back to the main website? Content is around 300 words x 1000.

Domain Authority and nofollow links?
Hello, I'm wondering, are 'nofollow' links from websites with high domain authority beneficial? Would they boost our own DA? In essence, I'm wondering if there is added value (other than visitors clicking the link) to being linked to by a 'nofollow' link. Thanks!

Looking at Page Authority of a link to our website... what Page Authority number should we use in deciding the link is junk?
What are the Page Authority ranges? 1. Excellent link 2. Moderate 3. Total junk link Of course you look at the anchor text you can use, how many links are on the site, how often it is cached. Thoughts?
