How Do i filter my IP address from the results?

I want to block my IP address so that I get to know the traffic coming to my website

If you have SEOMoz connected to your analytics and and you have it blocked in GA, you are all set

If your synchronize your analytics with SEOmoz it should give you the correct results. SEOmoz is pulling the data that Google analytics collect... In this case Google analytics is blocking the ip and SEOmoz is pulling the data after that.

I have it blocked in Google analytics, I want to know How to block it in SEO MOZ or it just picks it up from Google analytics

Hi Penjman,

Within google analytics go to admin (top right) --> filters tab and you can block it within there.

Phantom search results showing up in analytics

Hi, I'm getting these weird phantom search results showing up in my analytics account which is skewing my results. I have a wordpress site, and I do have some custom search results pages, but analytics is telling me these hits are coming from google- which I doubt. The end of the query string (&cat=plus-5-results) is not coming from a link created within my site. Anyone have any ideas? How to interpret universal results?

Hi After adding some keywords to our new campaign for www.vayamundo.be/nl, the keyword "Vayamundo" ranked +51, which is strange. I then found this little marker in the universal results column which says: Universal Result: Local Contains: 3 results Vayamundo Ol Fosse d'Outh

Learn more about universal results I clicked the two links, but still do not understand how to interpret this universal result. Why was it labeled a universal result to begin with? Can somebody help me out? Thanks in advance. Greetings Jorien

Is there an efficient way to block/filter referral spam in Google Analytics for a large network of websites?

Hello, everyone - I'm looking for guidance on how to block or filter referral spam in Google Analytics. But I'm needing to block for an entire network of Wordpress websites. We have two networks which total over 2,500 websites. We are currently blocking sites we find out about via htaccess. This works, but only after we see we are getting hit with the spam. Updating 2,500+ Google Analytics accounts with filtering is not an ideal option due to the time factor and the fact that new bots coming out almost daily. We can continue the htaccess method, but does anyone have any other ideas for blocking referral spam for a large network of sites? These are the other ideas we have. 1. Blocking all traffic from Russia and China based up subnets. We know many will still get through, but it should block 50% of it, we hope.
2. Moving sites to Google Tag manager. This is a huge tasks but we have seen that sites using Tag Manager are not effected, at least for now. Other ideas are appreciated!

How to FILTER in Google Analytics an ad campaign from linkedin?

Hi mozzers We are setting up an a linkedin ad campaign for our agency and want to track its traffic and conversions. The linkedin ad will carry UTMs for each link. For tracking this campaign accurately I thought about creating a new GA View with a specific filter. So my question is about the filtering, should i use the INCLUDE, REFERRAL with pattern LINKEDIN.COM (see image)? if not what would be the best way to track this campaign? My other concern is that we are also running other a job ad on linkedin and I feel these hits will be tracked as well. Is there a way to separate those 2 campaigns? Thanks guys! MzE5hqE.png

Blended results in google ???

I am a little confused about my search results. My ranking on google is displayed as #42. HOWEVER, I am #1 in the LOCAL results... what does that mean? Am I really #42? or am I #1 because local is listed over the organic results?

Google Analytics Customer filters & the correct syntax

Good afternoon from torential rain and thunder Wetherby UK 😞 Ive been delving into the world of custom filters in Google analytics and Ive hit a problem. Apart from Googles advice being out of date (wont get into that one) I wanted to set up clone a profile of an existing site and set up a filter that would exclde USA traffic. But a country can be called many things e.g. United Sates USA America so how do you know what is the correct name to put in the filter pattern box? Results Google in different browsers

I have changed one of my company pages. Now I saw that the Google position is different using IE of Firefox. In IE we are at position 1, in Firefox we are at position 4. Does anybody know, why this is? And how I could change this for different browsers? At the end the results are from Google.
