Titles in google serps incorrect
-
If you do the following query in google:
site:orlandovisiting.com legend sparrow
You'll see in the results the title appears as:
legend-captain-jack-sparrow-1149.html
Where the title tag in the source is:
<title>The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow Opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studiostitle>
Eventually it normally rights itself, but does anyone else get this with their sites?
Thanks.

Hi Ian,
Google uses many singles to display title in SERP like backlinks pointing that pages, data from directory sites, social media signals etc. They try to increase the CTR of your website so that they display different titles.

Ok so in summary. It's not a hard and fast number of characters, but looks like its pixel widths. Also google can ignore the title tag if it has deemed the title tag non-descriptive?
So two title tags:
<title>The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow Opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios</title>
appears as:
legend-captain-jack-sparrow-1149.html - Orlando Visiting
<title>Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow | Walt Disney World News</title>
appears as
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow ...
Is it the pipe in the title affecting this because I wouldn't say it the title tag physical width or number of characters?

Duplicate titles from hreflang variations
Hi, I am working on a large global site which has around 9 different language variations. We have setup the hreflang tags and referenced the corresponding content as follows: (We have not implemented a version X-default reference, as we felt it was not necessary) Using DeepCrawl and Search Console, we can see that these language variations are causing duplicate title issues. Many of them. My assumption was that the hreflang would have alleviated this issue and informed Google what is going on, however i wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this kind of thing before. It would be good to understand what the best practice approach is to deal with the problem. Is it even an issue at all, or just the tools being over-sensitive? Thank you in advance.

Page disappeared from Google index. Google cache shows page is being redirected.
My URL is: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/converse Hi. The week before last, my top Converse page went missing from the Google index. When I "fetch as Googlebot" I am able to get the page and "submit" it to the index. I have done this several times and still cannot get the page to show up. When I look at the Google cache of the page, it comes up with a different page. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/converse shows: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/pop-in-olivia-kim Back story: As far as I know we have never redirected the Converse page to the Pop-In page. However the reverse may be true. We ran a Converse based Pop-In campaign but that used the Converse page and not the regular Pop-In page. Though the page comes back with a 200 status, it looks like Google thinks the page is being redirected. We were ranking #4 for "converse" - monthly searches = 550,000. My SEO traffic for the page has tanked since it has gone missing. Any help would be much appreciated. Stephan

Exclude mobile pages from non mobile Google serps
Hi Everybody I see that a lot of our pages on our mobile shop has started to turn up when i do site:domainname.com on google. As they could potentially compete with the similar non mobile version of the same page, is there some way to exlude the mobile domain in non mobile google result without blocking the mobile version altogether. We use an m.domain.com version for our mobile site.
