Subdomains Issue
-
Hi , We have created sub domains of our site to target various Geo´s. For example, geo, uk.site.com, de.site, com and all these sub domains have the same content as main domain. Will it affect our SEO Rankings? How can we solve this if it affects our rankings?

Don't forget to read blog post by Gianluca on "International SEO". Here is the link :

Hope this help you out.....

Ideally yes you do, but you will need to do this anyway as you have placed your geo-targeted content on sub-domiains which tend to be treated by search engines as separate websites so the root domain doesn't pass the same authority as if you had chosen to use subfolders.
Have a look at this interesting White Board Friday on International SEO - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/international-seo-where-to-host-and-how-to-target-whiteboard-friday

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the response. If we use the country specific domain targeting in Webmasters tool, we need to develop backlinks for every regional domain right?
-
Have a look at this from Google it will answer all your questions - http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2010/03/working-with-multi-regional-websites.html
As long as Google can clearly identify the fact that the duplicate content is for different users in different countries you shouldn't have an issue. Make sure you register and set geo-targeting for each sub-domain in Google Webmaster Tools and you will be fine.

Google search console image indexing issue
Google search console tells that only '58 out of the 3553' images in the images sitemap are indexed. But if I search "site:example.com" in Google images there seem to be lots of images. There are no errors in the sitemap and I am still getting reasonable number of image search hits daily. Are the webmaster tools stats for images indexed accurate? When I click on the Sitemap Errors & Index Errors this is what i get - Error details: No errors found. https://www.screencast.com/t/pqL62pIc

Issue with GA tracking and Native AMP
Hi everyone, We recently pushed a new version of our site (winefolly.com), which is completely AMP native on WordPress (using the official AMP for WordPress plugin). As part of the update, we also switched over to https. In hindsight we probably should have pushed the AMP version and HTTPS changes in separate updates. As a result of the update, the traffic in GA has dropped significantly despite the tracking code being added properly. I'm also having a hard time getting the previous views in GA working properly. The three views are: Sitewide (shop.winefolly.com and winefolly.com) Content only (winefolly.com) Shop only (shop.winefolly.com) The sitewide view seems to be working, though it's hard to know for sure, as the traffic seems pretty low (like 10 users at any given time) and I think that it's more that it's just picking up the shop traffic. The content only view shows maybe one or two users and often none at all. I tried a bunch of different filters to only track to the main sites content views, but in one instance the filter would work, then half an hour later it would revert to no traffic. The filter is set to custom > exclude > request uri with the following regex pattern: ^shop.winefolly.com$|^checkout.shopify.com$|/products/.|/account/.|/checkout/.|/collections/.|./orders/.|/cart|/account|/pages/.|/poll/.|/?mc_cid=.|/profile?.|/?u=.|/webstore/. Testing the filter it strips out anything not related to the main sites content, but when I save the filter and view the updated results, the changes aren't reflected. I did read that there is a delay in the filters being applied and only a subset of the available data is used, but I just want to be sure I'm adding the filters correctly. I also tried setting the filter to predefined, exclude host equal to shop.winefolly.com, but that didn't work either. The shop view seems to be working, but the tracking code is added via Shopify, so it makes sense that it would continue working as before. The first thing I noticed when I checked the views is that they were still set to http, so I updated the urls to https. I then checked the GA tracking code (which is added as a json object in the Analytics setting in the WordPress plugin. Unfortunately, while GA seems to be recording traffic, none of the GA validators seem to pickup the AMP tracking code (adding using the amp-analytics tag), despite the json being confirmed as valid by the plugin. This morning I decided to try a different approach and add the tracking code via Googles Tag Manager, as well as adding the new https domain to the Google Search Console, but alas no change. I spent the whole day yesterday reading every post I could on the topic, but was not able to find any a solution, so I'm really hoping someone on Moz will be able to shed some light as to what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions or input would be very much appreciated. Cheers,

Crawler issues on subdomain - Need resolving?
Hey Guys, I'm fairly new to the world of SEO and have a ton of crawler issues with a friends website I'm doing some work on. After Moz did a site crawl I'm getting loads of errors (Total of 100+ for critical crawler, content and meta data). Most of these are due to broken social links on a subdomain - so my question is do I need to resolve all of the errors even if they are on a sub-domain? Will it affect the primary website? Thanks, Jack

Subdomain question
Hi guys, I have a subdomain on my site that i want to completely remove from the index. I tried already everything to remove it but it is special situation so the only choice i have left is to remove it from Search Console in "Remove URLs" feature. So my question is: if i remove my root subdomain (example: http://subdomain.mydomain.com/) via "Remove URLs" feature in Webmaster Console, will it remove all the URLs coming from that particular domain as well? I also want to make sure that my root domain will stay untouched and be functioning normally. Thank you for advice!

Responsive Code Creating Duplicate Content Issue
Good morning, Our developers have recently created a new site for our agency. The site is responsive for mobile/tablets. I've just put the site through Screaming Frog and I've been informed of duplicate H2s. When I've looked at some of the page sources, there are some instances of duplicated H2s and duplicated content. These duplicates don't actually appear on the site, only in the code. When I asked the development guys about this, they advised this is duplicated because of the code for the responsive site. Will the site be negatively affected because of this? Not everything is duplicated, which leads me to believe it probably could have been designed better... but I'm no developer so don't know for sure. I've checked the code for other responsive sites and no duplicates can be found. Thanks in advance, Lewis

Understanding page and subdomain metrics in OSE
When using OSE to look at the **Total External Links **of a websites homepage, I dont understand why the page and subdomain metrics are so different. For example, privacy.net has 1,992 external links at the page level and 55,371 at the subdomain level. What subdomain? www redirects to privacy.net. And they have 56,982 at the root domain level - does that mean they have around 55k deep links or what?

Competitive Domain Analysis & Subdomain Metrics
I have a web site that shows with all zeroes in the Competitive Domain Analysis and subdomain Metrics screen. I don't think this is possible because I have a ton of links out there to this web site from a forum that I visit. Can someone help me understand how this might be. I am hoping it's not some dreaded www vs non www issue because I think I solved that issue for this site. The site is www.nationalcurrencyvalues.com
