Help to raise a charity's Face book profile to raise funds
-
Hi,
I am new here and its my first question.
I am helping a charity on pro-bono basis on their SEO. They do a great job by looking after terminally ill children with no costs to parents. 60% of their funding is through various fund raising events.
They know some well known actors and sports personality who may be willing to help.
They have asked my to look at their Facebook page and help to
- raise its profile and no of likes
- increase interaction with donors & general public and most importantly
- use it to raise funds
Any ideas/ help/suggestions will be really appreciated.
Thank you,
Syed

No worries, glad I could help.

Syed, oh, I like that photo session idea. See, you are well on your way. Good luck, this sounds like a terrific project!

Hi Andrea,
Thank you very much for replying and adding the interesting competition concept to the list by Jason.
I will have to think really hard as to how to offer something unique but your idea of "chatting with celebrities" is a very good one, perhaps a photo session with the winners family!
Again thank you.
Regards,
Syed

Hi Jason, Thank you very much for your reply. I really like the idea of donate button which I did not know, so thanks for teaching my something new. Really appreciated. I will update this post in a few months time to show how we have got on. Regards, Syed

I agree with Jason and will raise one other consideration: give them a reason to care about the page beyond it being a good cause. Donating is nice, seeing some content is nice, but neither necessarily will catch someone's attention. Can you set up something where people can post to win a chance to have a chat with one of the celebrities? Is there some sort of contest or something you can promote? Think of something unique that will drive the conversations and want people to check the page and engage.
I, personally, have stopped liking most pages because I don't get much reason to actually engage, unless I have a situation I need to address (like, customer service). I want to see a unique opportunity, just because I donated to a cause doesn't mean I want to read their status updates because sharing news doesn't equal engagement.
Just something to think about to get some "hooks" for the audience.

Hey, here is what I would do:
1. Install a donate app onto your facebook fan page
a. Make sure that the charity has an account that the donations can go to (most use paypal)
2. Use your friend base and the friend base of your friends to promote your page by asking them to like it and sharing it. (Trying to make it viral)
3. Monitor the Facebook page for interactions and peoples comments so you can interact with them as the page.
4. have the Celebrities endorse your fan page by asking them to share it on their walls
5. Post content regularly so people get updated about the charity
Those are just some steps I would take in order to promote the charity.

Re-branding Company Social Profiles
Hi Does anyone have experience of re-branding LinkedIN or Facebook? Can you keep the company page/followers and just change your name or do you have to start again? Thank you!

Is this mistake in use of 'publisher' meta tag
Hi There!, There is a confusion with 'Publisher' meta tag. Instead of using 'Google+ page' we have used Google profile pages in meta 'publisher' tag on most of pages. Currently they all are indexed. Also, in 'Author' meta tag same Google Profile page is linked. E.g. - on page - https://www.sitegeek.com/arvixe , following are the publisher and author tags: <a href="https://plus.google.com/117949772080676863960" rel="<a class="attribute-value">publisher</a>">a> <a href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/102179677098786549874/about" rel="<a class="attribute-value">author</a>"> So I am not sure how much it would effect SEO rankings. Please suggest what would the best way to update it? Further, site has its Google+ page: [https://plus.google.com/+Sitegeekcom/posts ] so it should be updated in 'publisher' tag or we should create a new Google+ page using existing Author Google+ profile. How can I have mistaken identity Facebook work history removed from uncooperative person's profile?
My client, a cosmetic surgeon in Lynnwood, WA was attacked earlier today on Facebook by the supposed ex-wife of a cosmetic surgeon in Arizona with whom they have no association. The other practice has a name that is close, but there is absolutely no relationship between the two. We promptly removed the comments from my client's wall and images and blocked the person who posted them. Unfortunately she has posted in her work history on her own page that she works for my client's practice and blocking her has not removed my client's name, logo or fb link from her page. This poster's comments are so tragic and bizarre I'm honestly not sure she is a real person, though the doctor she mentions in her posts does appear to have a real practice in AZ. I could not find a way to report to Facebook that she did not in fact work for my client at any time. I have so far had no response from her to my request to remove it from her About page and due to the bizarre nature of the comments, I don't well trust she'll follow through. How can I have this erroneous work history removed from this person's profile page? Facebook FAQ offered no answers. Thank you.

Google Autor Profiles in Big Companies
I work for a big company and they want to use the google autor tag. The goal is to get the rich snippets and better rankings in the future from having a trusworthy autor for each topic building up followers basically. The problem is that the company does not want to pay employees to build up their own autor profiles/trust since an employee could leave the company any time and we would have to start from scratch building another autor profile. Now I know that google only wants real people in google plus bla bla ... bla bla ... How do you guys handle this problem? I thought of having our autors sharing one made up autor profile which is owned by the company.

Facebook: How do you post to a brand's page, as your own brand page?
Eg, if you are an administrator of "Funco" which has a FB page, how do you post on the wall of "Followerwonk" as "Funco", not your personal FB account?

Anyone do SEO for facebook business pages? I'm having trouble with timeline layout.
I am working on my facebook business page and am frustrated with the new "timeline" facebook layout which really does not make sense as a business page. I have not found a way to change it to a traditional layout and have read some posts that said facebook does not allow you to go back from timeline. Does anyone have a good layout suggestions for a facebook business page with SEO in mind? Thanks.

Should each domain have it's own social media ?
Hi, were in the process of creating multiple domains and sites for each country we plan to operate in, should each site site have it's own set of Facebook, twitter you tube accounts etc? I realise this will create more work in administrating each site and corresponding set of social media accounts, but does it have benefits ? As we'll need to do it anyway in different languages, does separating the English languages accounts make any difference carry any benefits? Thanks,

Why is FailBlog allowed to make 2,000 dollars a day posting OTHER PEOPLE's videos?
So if FailBlog makes about 2 grand a day in YouTube revenue for posting other people's videos, then why can't someone just make their own FailBlog? In other words, someone could simply download all of FailBlog's videos, and remove their logo, and publish the videos on youtube as their own. Afterall, FailBlog doesn't own the videos anyway. Neither YouTube nor FailBlog seems keen on vetting videos - to see the rightful owner. Yet they are happy to both profit from videos of ambiguous ownership. Or, even, unambigous ownership. e.g. its obvious failblog doesnt own this media http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNQLmHKlmiE
