Multiple Store locations Google Local
-
Hey there,
Is it best to create an individual page for each store location? Or is it best to create one page and plot different locations?
Thanks,
Dan

Happy to scatter warm, fuzzy feelings wherever I may. Your answer was excellent!

Good points in that 2nd link, especially.

Hi Dan,
LCnetwork's second response does a really good job of clarifying the situation and your opportunities.

Are you talking about location pages on your own website? Working with law firms that have a number of different offices we have have found it useful (in terms of organic rankings) to create pages for each location and make sure that these are linked to from other places on the site. You should able to find a list of first to four tier data providers for your country with a little digging. Its important that your NAP (name, address and phone) are registered elsewhere on the web and that they are in the correct microdata format and that you also upload a KML site map file for all your office locations.

Not quite.
There are two types of pages we're talking about here. That's because Google+ functions as two things for business owners: it is a local business directory and it is a social network.
Google+ Local listings: These are like your Google yellow pages listings. You should have one for each location (i.e., one for Dan's Pizza in Newark, one for Dan's Pizza in Jersey City, etc.) These have phone numbers, address, some photos, etc. This is where customers leave reviews as well.
Google+ Business (Brand) Pages: There should only be one Dan's Pizza Google+ Business page. It is for the brand as a whole.
This page is where you can post "as" the business, interact with followers, etc. It's a lot like what Facebook business pages are like. This is a more robust page than the ones above and is more or less the face of your business in Google+ as a social network (rather than Google+ the local business directory).
As of now, you can link your Brand Page (the social media page) with only one of your listings. If you choose to do this, it should probably be your flagship location, or your most popular. At some point in the future, you should be able to link your brand page with all of your listings.

Tbh I'm a little confused between the two - I take it Google+ Local page is the parent and then you create a local listing from that parent?
Thanks for the fast reply.

Do you mean for a Google+ Local Page, or for Google+ Local Listings?
I'm assuming you actually have multiple brick-and-mortar, IRL store locations. In this case (but only in this case), you should have a Google+ Local listing (formerly Google Places) for each one.
As for the business pages (the more robust ones that are like Facebook business pages), you should have one for your business as an entity, and you can connect it with one of your store locations. For now. Supposedly, they are working on the functionality with this so that businesses with multiple locations can connect them all to one business page.
Does that make sense?
They've really simplified all this lately, huh?

Business with Google + Business Page not showing with map
Hi I set up a Google + business Page for a client and we claimed their address (it shows in the Google Maps page fine. The page has been created for a while now but when you search for this business it does not show the map to the right? Any thoughts? BTW we have two locations and both have separate pages - thought this could be the issue but then when I added the business name + the location still not showing.

Thoughts on Google's New NAP Dispaly on Google+ Local
Hi, Do you think ACTION needs to happen based on Google's new NAP formatting change? They are changing Suite or STE to #. So for example 265 Racine Dr #100 Wilmington, NC 28403 Even if you enter in Suite they change it to pound. I am wondering the thoughts of the community of the following: 1. Do you think Google knows that STE, Suite, and # are all the same 2. Do you feel that we need to change ALL online local business listings and our website to match this change. 3. Here is the letter from Google on the matter FROM GOOGLE: Thanks for informing us about your address appearing differently on your local Google+ page than it does on your dashboard. After looking further, we've determined that 240 Stockton St #300 San Francisco, CA 94108 is an appropriate way for your listing to be displayed. Note that the address on your page might be different from what you've input into your dashboard. Our processes might alter user-input addresses to make them more standardized and easier for users to access. Thanks for understanding. Best, Nathan

Multiple Locations for Tire Shop Should I Name them Differently?
We just started SEO for a shop that has 3 locations. Oddly 2 are on one road and the other is not. Should we name them differently in Google? Bobs #1 Bobs#2 Bobs #3 Wondering if there is an SEO benefit to that? Also should I set up directory listings for each location? There is not ONE main location they are all equal.

Issues claiming businesses via Google+ places?
Is anyone else dealing with issues claiming a business location on Google places? After already going through the process of claiming our business locations and verifying ownership. It seems that we have to do it again for google+ places. I don't want to create a duplicate of the business, and i'm not sure If I should delete it from my places account, before trying to claim it again on google places. Have you dealt with this issue, or is it new to you as well?

Google Plus for clients
Hi folks, I am coming to the realization that most of my local business clients simply do not have the time, desire or knowledge to establish a Google Plus personal profile and business page. Therefore, I have been contemplating the best approach to establishing Google Plus business pages for multiple clients. It would appear that information attached to the personal profile for the primary Google Plus account is not revealed when a business page is viewed, and a single personal profile can establish multiple business pages, would it be safe to assume this may be the correct approach? For example: I have a personal profile and a page for my SEO business. Could I simply create additional business pages for my clients under my account - even though I am not business owner? Are there any adverse ramifications to this approach (e.g. ownership transfer, local SERP issues, etc.)? Thanks!

How quick do you see google places rankings update
We have submitted allot of citations over the last 60 days for a client. A very prominent business in their city. Pretty good SEO rankings considering we just started doing SEO a couple months ago. Over the last several weeks we have fixed all listings and removed duplicates. Site is optimized properly and etc.. After how many weeks should I see a change in places rankings? Right now they are not moving up at all.

Multiple Businesses in One Location + In One Google Places Account Under Review
HI, My Problem: Multiple businesses in one location, under one Google Places account, one being reviewed. My Question: see very bottom of this post Background: I am trying to help a client get both of his businesses ranking in Google Places. The problem is the office building has multiple doctors/practices in the same building and gave no business suite numbers to doctors that rent office space. Here is the list of the other businesses in the office: http://www.fullcirclefamilycare.com/health_care.htm. The problem escalates because the doctor I am trying to help has a chiropractic business & a spinal decompression business, both legal entities, both different registered company names, different phone numbers, and websites, but both located in this office building. He rents two offices (they should be suites) in the building. The problem escalates even more because the doctor has registered both locations (see below) in his Google Places account: Westchester Spinal Decompression Center

1241 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY 10605 (914) 368-7668
jointeffortchiro.com The first (spinal decompression) was registered a long time ago and ranks #1 for "spinal decompression white plains NY." The second he just confirmed the Google Post card a few weeks ago and has been under review since. More research so you can help me better: The "The Shop for Holistic Health / The Shop at Full Circle", a businesses location in the same office building has verified their account and ranks #1 for "women's health care white plains NY" and "midwife white plains NY." Another business,in the same office building "Keras-Donaghy Melissa S", has not claimed their listing and ranks #1 for "Women’s Health physical Therapist white plains NY" Another business, "Kuhl Josephine MD," has not claimed their listing ranks in the top 10 for "Adolescent Psychiatrist white plains NY." My Question: What do I do, wait it out and see if Google will remove the "under review" under his current Google Places account or do I add a suite number now and see if Google will send another post card? Or do I create a new account, add the business, add a suite number this time, and see if they will confirm it. I don't want to do this because the doctor already has 12 reviews on this Google Places account. If I do do this, what do I do with the Google Places account under review?0
