Guest bloggers on your own site
-
I know this has been possibly asked before however. is there any benefit for Guest bloggers to write on my website? Will it have any impact on my rankings? I do guest post on other sites and I know this helps my site.

Thanks for all the comments. Its made it a lot clearer. Strategic seems to be the best fit. I have been letting one or two random posts on my site. This will now stop.

The best guest authors are generally people who have a message to get out or a story to tell. They provide the best content and the message/story is their sole motivation. They want it on your site for visibility, nothing more. They contact you personally and not through a PR company, publicist, marketing group or other type of promoter.

If you have an appropriate strategic vision for your blog's content and the guest bloggers are helping you achieve that, it's good. If their posts take your content in uncontrolled, undesired directions, it's it's bad.
Work out a strategic vision for your blog by coordinating what you want it to accomplish for you with how much time/resources you want to put towards it. The narrower the better if your only putting up one post a week, or so. I'd suggest that, although Facebook advertising, SEO, and web design posts are certainly complementary, that your focus is a bit broad for it to be able to gain traction as a destination for readers, or to build community, or to get elicit engagement in worthwhile amounts.
Narrowing down the focus of your blog to a single, supremely niche area of expertise will certainly limit the audience it appeals to (which is why you want to be sure that you've worked out an appropriate strategic vision for the blog that coincides with your niche) but you'll get more engagement out of it and that engagement is ultimately what's going to provide the your site with what you were looking or out of you blog in the first place--some oomph for your domain and your brand.
So anyway, back to the guest blogger. Once you engage with the community of bloggers in the micro-niche you ultimately decide on you'll have a clear understanding of the value their guest posts will bring to your site and a greater sense of responsibility to write even better guest posts for them.

If you find high quality guest bloggers this will be helping your website for sure.
Having an external writing about something in which is considered an expert may lead his followers to read your site, you may also use the rel=author to show his g+ thumbnail under you listing so you'll achieve a good ctr boost.
However this depends on how strict are you in choosing who's writing in your website.

A number of times you should use your keyword in a guest blog
Is it true that if you want to rank for a chosen keyword, you have to mention that keyword 3%-5% of the whole content (in a guest blog)?

Seo & Real Estate Site?
I am a Realtor. I am also a web developer. I want to make a site about real estate and web development. Primarily how I use my unique skills with web to sell homes. A real estate website caps it's Page Rank very low. There are not a lot of good backlinks to get when compared to the web development industry. There are millions of blogs I participate in about web development/seo. There are a lot of blogs I participate in about real estate too; however, the real estate websites all have low page ranks. This is obviously because the seo/web development industries know how to build page rank, which makes it easier to accumulate it. It's difficult finding good outlets to get link power from in real estate. How confused would google be? Is there an acceptable strategy to making this a reality? Please point out all of the variables I am not seeing. Pros and Cons. I'm not an SEO pro. I would be going for the keyword Pensacola Real Estate. I would accumulate backlinks from the real estate industry and the web design industry. Help 🙂

Pursuing Links on Sites You Have a Link From
Is it a bad idea to spend resources to get a second link from a site that already links to you? It seems like the marginal value of each additional link is much smaller than the first link.

How to Outsource Guest Blog Posts?
We have operated a small ecommerce company for over 10 years in the home and garden industry. Our product niche is small and there is not a lot of "community" around it as it is just not a social product, yet the product is interesting. Our internal time is very limited and therefore we have hired external help over the years to do our SEO. As you all know, this is very challenging to do affordably and not get spammers. As part of our SEO strategy we would like to do some guest blog posts but do not have the internal time to research and build the relationships needed. We basically have no internal writing skills and have always hired writers to do our blog postings. My question is if you had to hire someone to do guest blog posts how would you go about finding the right person to use? Of course an excellent writer would be required. What would you expect to pay for this type of service? Would you do it hourly or "pay per live post". Any ideas on where to find this type of person? Thanks.

Good guest blogging communities?
Besides My Blog Guest, does anyone know of any good guest blogging communities? The aforementioned, based on my few weeks of use, seems like a great community for guest blogging. Curious if any similar sites exist.

Press Release Sites for Backlinks
OK, I read a previous thread about whether people found press release sites useful (specifically I am considering a reputable pay for release service). I understand the knock on press releases in this digital age (namely that no one reads them and arguably never did . . . ), but I was interested in moving the discussion in a different direction . . . Do press releases services really help a sites performance based on increased backlinking? Is there a SEO benefit to PR services? My company is a local print company. I've done quite a bit of research on my local competitors, and specifically for a couple products we would like to dominate. The good news is that it looks like the hurdle would not be terribly high to really take over the web presence with a well planned and executed website/SEO campaign. My inclination is that for a relatively small company like mine (dealing with relatively small competitors) it WOULD benefit me to pay for the sheer number of backlinks a PR program would generate. The monthly cost is frankly about the same as the cost of this site, which OF COURSE I get value from (hey moderator, how about a couple extra MOZ points for that one!) Specifically, I am looking at this for myself, but feel free to expand the question to the broader topic.
