NAP - Name on a local website
-
From a local perspective, if the legal name of the business is "Rising Realty, Inc", when you added in your footer should I loose the "Inc" part to be consistent with all the other mentions of the business across the web, which are without "Inc"?
Thank you!

My pleasure!

Thanks again Miriam for contributing! Yes, I do know but it was more of a reassurance for a colleague of mine.

Hi Echo1,
What you put in your website NAP should identically match what's on your Google+ Local page. If your listings and citations are without the 'Inc', then, yes, that is how I would recommend styling your business in your indexable website-based NAP. Consistency is so key, as you know.

Maybe I should have been clearer, I was talking about the name in the website footer and contact page , where both have been created using schema.org

I wouldn't worry about consistency with unstructured citations (loose mentions of your company), because it can be hard to ensure anyway. You want to make sure your "structured citations" are consistent. So your directory listings basically - places, yahoo, etc. This is what you definitely want to match up with your NAP.and I would def use the correct schema.org markup. which makes it easier for crawlers to understand your structured data. Hope this helps you out!

What do you do for U-NAP distribution for two business within the same building?
I have a hotel that has a restaurant within its building. Both the hotel and restaurant are owned and managed by the same group. There was a proposal to create a U-NAP distribution for the restaurant itself. Should there be any concerns regarding a U-NAP issue with the hotel given that they share the same physical address and the same URL? The Restaurant has it own landing page within the domain. It does not have building specific identifier like a suite number. Please advise if a U-NAP distribution for the restaurant will cause a material impact on the Hotel's U-NAP purity.

Is it considered duplicate contentnt to post a video to youtube then embed that video on our website's FAQs page?
Essentially, I am answering popular questions we are asked and answering them in a video. Once I post it on youtube, I take the video, add it to our FAQ page, and when someone clicks on the question, a new page opens with the question, the video, and the written answer to the question underneath it. Thanks for any advice. watch?v=bwGRmvnCn7w

Is city name really a no-no in Google+ Local description field?
I know that adding one's city name in the business name and category tags for Google+ Local is a no-no. And Google says so in its quality guidelines. But what about in the business description? I don't see that in Google's guidelines. Can anyone clarify?

What drives the position of the local pack in a google SERP?

Google Places - Different NAP on various directories...
My client's veterinary clinic uses a service called Localvets.com which is a division of Yext.com. This service updates listings and sponsors them across various directories. Since this is a referral service (they get paid for new clients) they use a custom phone number and custom website address for these listings. Question: Is this hurting the SEO potential of the Google Places listing since the N.A.P. are not the same? Thoughts?

Street name or Highway number- which is best ?
In Google places my address shows up in two different ways. I want to establish a consistent way of listing my business, but how do I determine what's best at this point? My listings now show up as the street name: "122 Maple Street" and in other listings as the Route number: "122 Route 44 " The locals all know this street as Maple Street, but we are a tourist business and tourists probably know the Rt. # better. Is there a systematic way I can determine which is going to be the best way to list this? I have the same question about variations like using Rt. or St. versus Route or Street. Thanks Tio
