Help me improve this page, PLEASE
-
Hello,
I am trying to improve the conversions on my site and I have noticed that this page : http://goo.gl/MIajx has a high ranking in the SERPS but also has a high "exit percentage" ...
Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should to do improve this page so that people don't exit my site from there?
Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.... Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the advice...
Do you think that moving the text from the top of this page into the sidebar will negatively affect my rankings? I am asking since the text (content) won't be the first thing seen by the search engines...
Any thoughts...

Hi,
Firstly, I think I'd clean the homepage out a little. At the moment my eyes are being drawn to every part simultaneously. Have a think about what it is you want the user to interact with first when they land on your homepage - blog, sign up, sales pages?
Once you've got that, work the rest of the page around it. Make your calls to action clearer and the main point of focus.
For instance, it seems like you'd want people to immediately select their bin size right? If so, drop the side panels, it doesn't seem like they're needed there.

Ouch. In my opinion, you have way too much Red in your template. Red on white is very powerful - it draws your attention more than just about any color combination. When I look at your home page, i get confused. The nav bar is red, the bins are red, copy is red. I don't know where to begin. I can't figure out which way to go.
In design there is a concept of "foreground, middle ground, and background". This is about color contrasts. The content that you want customers to see and act on are "foreground". They have larger graphics, larger fonts, bold fonts, and attention grabbing colors. Middle Ground is supporting information - ad copy, generally. It needs to be readable without overpowering the foreground. The background is the fine print - terms of use, etc.
With all of the red, everything on your site is in the foreground. Half of the elements on your page scream "Look at Me!" That's what causes confusion. The most powerful foreground combinations are red on white, white on red, black on yellow, yellow on black, black on white.
Action Items:
1. Strip out all of the red on every page. Make your Nav bar a quiet shade of blue or green. No red bins in images. No Red copy.
2. Stay away from Red in general - Stop signs are red for a reason. Red buttons on pages typically don't convert well red=STOP! For your action items, use orange and a bright green in small doses. They have tested out the best. Just about every major website has blue or green as the dominant color in the palate. There is a reason for it. It's easy on the eyes, and it's easy to drop in an orange button that grabs your attention.
Just doing this will vastly improve your bounce rate.
I can't even tell you about the site's organization - the red hurts my head.
Take a look at major e-commerce sites, and mimic what they do in terms of color, organization, navigation, etc. Every pixel on every page on Amazon has been extensively tested for usability and conversions. The color of the cart, the term "add to cart", the position of the cart, the color scheme, the navigation, - everything has been extensively tested by the best in the business. Why would you want to reinvent the wheel?
When you are organizing your site templates, think about how you want visitors to behave, and make the navigation and choices that you want them to take stand out, and above the fold. Try to build your site so that visitors never touch the navigation bar. Map out a path that you want them to follow and make it easy on them - put buttons like "Start Now", "Click Here".
Pick up the books "Don't Make me Think" by Steve Krug and "Convert" by Ben Hunt.

Honestly I think there is way too much going on the page. I find the layout hard to follow. I would like to see an image-slider with nice crisp photos and text below it. Also I think you need to integrate a more clear and defined call to action to your website.

Odd. Unique seo question - Can you help?
This should be an interesting question - gobble up all those MOZ POINTS folks : ) Our company website is real estate based. We have nearly 30,000+ paid members on the inside that put up real estate listings (properties for sale). The members do this on their own. From an SEO stand point it sort of feels like we have a huge team of content creators putting up unique content for us. To see what I'm talking about I'll drop some links so you can review: In this first link you'll see a member of ours advertised on the NYTIMES and the clickable anchored text waterfront leads back to us or I should say the members listing. See the link below: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/13/realestate/city-island-a-quainter-side-of-the-bronx.html This second link is the listing page for our member that the anchored text led to. https://www.nystatemls.com/profiles/NY/SAINT_ALBANS/NEW_YORK_ESTATES_GROUP_INC/Dale_Davids/68966/listings/ When I use MOZ i can see that we got some serious link juice from the above. **This is what is happening naturally: ** When someone joins as a member the public profile of their name & office is ranking in the SERPS. Example: Higgins Realty / it's ranked #1 and brings back 100 visitors per month. https://www.nystatemls.com/agency/NY/BROOKLYN/HIGGINS_REALTY_GROUP_LLC/5575/ When someone creates a listing with our system and publishes it the address is ranking. Think of this on a mass scale. Even though they are small niche names, offices, keywords it's generating traffic. & every once in awhile the name of an office is closely related to a major keyword and we pick up something that generates say 500 to 1,500 visitors per month. When someone advertises their public profile or their listing depending on the site they advertise on or the anchored text they use it's helping our domain. Again, all of this is happening on its own we aren't pushing SEO. This simply is real estate agents and brokers doing their job and in return our Domain Authority and Page Rank is climbing. Our monthly traffic is climbing. The number of keywords we rank for is increasing. This situation must be unique because wouldn't you say that in most cases with a website they have a blog. Someone needs to write good content then try to get it linked. But in our situation our members are creating (unique content) and publishing it. How do we capitalize on this though? or I should say capitalize in a bigger way? To help everyone benefit would it be to possibly teach the members some basic SEO. What if the name of their public profile was key worded or what if we explained advertising that listing, Sharing it, getting it on other sites would benefit them. To have them link back to their profile or listing page. Maybe give them a list of suggested sites? Maybe give them a list of possible anchored texts they could use which would be keywords we want to rank for? What are your thoughts? Do you have any clever or creative ideas that would help all parties? If you want to do some research our main website is www.nystatemls.com you can review the ranking keywords, linking domains that sort of thing. Thanks for the input - Chris After

Should I request backlinks to use anchor text that is page specific?
I work for a community college, with fairly high seo for the college in general. We have no budget for advertising specific programs, so we are trying to optimize individual pages on the website, e.g., physical therapy assistant, welding, etc. Does it make a difference if other websites use our main url, college name, or the college name plus specific program as the anchor text? Also, I'm seeing some posts here recommending to avoid lots of directory listings. I assume that doesn't apply to industry specific directories, like nursing school directories, right? I'm still a very new newbie and appreciate your advice.

Friendly and pages regular expression
Hi, I am trying to fix this with a reg expression but I dont know how. Here is the example: I would like to have my link like this: mysite.com/noticias/123/here-comes-the-title-page-2 I have a mod_rewrite rule with this: RewriteRule ^/noticias/([a-zA-Z0-9]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9-]+)-(pagina)-([0-9]+)$ /myphp.php?&id=$1&ipag=$4 [L,NC] It doesnt work. I think that the problem resides here ([a-zA-Z0-9-]+) because the title is split with "-" and the rule doenst know when the title finish. Now, if I have a rule like this it works: mysite.com/noticias/123/here-comes-the-title_page-2 RewriteRule ^/noticias/([a-zA-Z0-9]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9-]+)_(pagina)-([0-9]+)$ /myphp.php?&id=$1&ipag=$4 [L,NC] How can I fix this to have a "-pagina" instead of "_pagina" Thanks

Sites Ranked Again - Post Penguin SEO Help
Got destroyed by Penguin because of questionable links. I had most of the links removed and my sites have been restored for the most part - though lower than they previously ranking for keywords. What is the best SEO strategy to move up in rank? Link Building strategy? Is there a penalty for domains that have keywords in them?

Fresh set of eyes on this page please. Why isn't it ranking?
Morning all, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a quick look at this page and see if I'm missing something here. The targeted keyword (wedding favours) is pretty competitive and the rank had been slowly improving until recently and we've now slipped to 25th on Google UK. I've added a "Pay with a tweet" button for our eBook which has been pretty well received (around 100 downloads) so far so the social side is better than our competition. I've also written a few guest blogs with links back to the page from a variety of sources. Here is the page analysis on OSE. If you could take a quick look and let me know if I'm missing anything here, it would be most appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Multiple KW's , on-page and anchor text
Hello, For each page on my site, I've targeted one primary keyword and three to four secondary keywords. All of the keywords variants are tightly themed. With some on-page, I've ranked page two or three for all of the keywords and many are starting to convert based on Analytics data. Each page scores an "A" using the SEOmoz KW targeting tool for the "primary keyword only". For secondary keywords, I've only included words but not the complete keyword. For example, if the primary keyword is "blue green widgets" and the secondary keyword is "get blue green widgets", I've included the word "get" throughout the copy to target the secondary keyword. My questions are... Should I include each secondary keyword once in the copy and not just the word "get" for example? Just wondering if there is a better approach to target all of the keywords via on-page. When getting links to each page, how would you vary the anchor text to target all of the keywords, primary and secondary? Thanks!

Ranking Inner Pages or the Main Page?
Hello Guys, I am relatively new to the SEO world. So I am just wondering what would be more helpful. Getting the homepage ranked for a list of targeted keywords or creating a separate page for each keyword and then getting those pages ranked? Look forward to hear back, Thanks! Naimath
