Have you used an ad network other than Google Adwords?
-
We received a cold call from a company called Division-D. They make a lot of promises which sound good (but that's what marketers do ). Advertising on a non-Google network probably would have fewer restrictions than an Adwords campaign and they say that they are fully transparent. Would it be worth it to listen to their whole pitch?

We've been testing some campaigns with Pulse360 . They have reputable sites like cnn in their network. Still early days but feel free to PM me for more info.

Bing Ads (AdCenter) is the only other network that's worthwhile. People still use Bing and Yahoo for search, so you will get some traffic, and AdCenter network is less competitive than AdWords, so AdCenter CPC is cheaper.
I've tried out a handful of the other search networks besides AdWords and AdCenter and have never had any success. I've been doing PPC for over a decade and the only networks I spend any money on is AdWords and AdCenter.

I get calls from lots of networks, both wanting me to advertise and get into our ad space. I can't tell you how much time and employee labor I have wasted on these people and their offers. Most of them are crap but occasionally there is a good one.
What I do now is say.... "Tell me the names of three websites where I can see your ads in the most prominent positions. I need to see your ads on websites that get millions of visitors per month before I can spend time talking to you."
Most can not produce this type of evidence that they are successful. Most will send you the URLs of three crap sites that display crap ads. Not worth your time.

I've been trying Bing for about the last two months.
Still early days, but we imported our Adwords campaign and it's thus far working really quite well - we're getting some good traffic at a lower level than adwords, and clicks work out cheaper. Strangely our best performing key words on Google aren't turning out to be those doing best on Bing. Still early days, but it is proving worthwhile.
Beyond that it would certainly be worth hearing someone out, but I'd be asking many questions on who's in their network etc. Obviously you'll want to be reassured that any web properties they're showing ads on are relevant to your niche, and the right sort of visitors.
Unfortunately the only way to be sure with most forms of advertising is to throw a hundred pounds or two at it and see what happens!

Your mileage will vary depending on your industry and of course the quality of your PPC
But from what I've seen in a number of industries, Bing ads come with lower cost per clicks, better click-through rate and similar conversion figures, when compared to Google. Of course, the volume of clicks/impressions is much lower, but that's to be expected.
If you're close to running as well as you can in Adwords, it's well worth looking at Bing ads as your next step.

I can't say I have but I've really wanted to try some ad words on Bing as I've heard they are cheaper and of course its hitting a different market. On-topic : I would be a bit doubtful as its not super hard to set up ad words of other networks (other than the time) and what kind of cut they would take. It never hurts to hear someone out though and that wont cost you. At least you can make an informed choice that way.
Good luck and let us know your choice!

Adwords Conversions - Trying to track button clicks that fire when Bootstrap modal contact form clicked/opened
Hi there, I'm trying to implement google adwords conversions on a particular client's website. They have used bootstrap as the framework for their site and mainly open up contact forms within a bootstrap modal, after a button is clicked. See here: http://www.gtwstorage.co.uk/ I thought I had successfully implemented the adwords conversion tracking however it has been a week now, and my conversions still say they are "unverified". I wonder if anyone else has encountered this before and knows what I might be doing wrong. Thank you in advance, Darren

Best way to automize generation of google ads - API, scripts etc.
I am in the process of setting up a fresh adwords account for a recently launched ecommerce site with about 3000 products and would like to automize the generation of the ads based on a spreadsheet of our product database. I would like to have full control over the code to generate these ads and a programmer with knowledge in SOAP and javscript would be availlable to assist in implementation. Any recommendations? Would you use adwords API or rather adword scripts?

Changing Domains - Will a 301 redirect be looked unfavourably for my Ads?
Hey All, So over the next few weeks we are switching over a clients domain to a new one. Each of the old pages on the old domain will have a 301 redirect to it's new contextual page (with the same content). My question is this, we currently have multiple PPC campaigns running for this client and the ads are pointed towards the old domain so the ads will redirect over to the new domain. My question is this, will Adwords look at this redirection unfavourably? If so, then I will have to duplicate each ad (100's of ads) with a new destination URL (since if I edit the current ads they will lose all past performance history). Obviously for branding I'm going to have to probably change the display URL eventually but for now I'm looking at the BIG issues that could occur. I would normally call Google and ask this question but I don't want them to flag anything in my account just in case this is looked unfavourably. Thanks! Jon

Why are some restricted items showing up on Google Shopping?
Hi there, We sell tactical gear but only "Google Friendly" items in our Google Shopping Product Listing Ads. We don't include anything that goes on a rifle, including rifle scopes. However, we see that companies like ebay and OpticsPlanet can still sell riflescopes: https://www.google.com/#q=Bushnell+3-12x44+Mil+Dot+Tactical+Riflescope&tbm=shop. There's even an article by SearchEngineLand that points this out, too: http://searchengineland.com/google-weapon-listings-shopping-search-126487. So why is it that they can sell them and we can't? What advantage do they have or what have they done?

How to set up Adwords Account for Keyword Research
Hello, At the advice of some knowledgable people around here, we are setting up a $200-$300 Adwords campaign to determine keyword research. Our site is already doing well but we want to make sure we are targeting all the appropriate terms. What do we need to keep in mind in setting up this campaign. I assume we would do some broad match terms with a bunch of negative matching. Thanks!

Adwords Confusion - Where are these clicks coming from?
Ok, I posted two images showing that my Google Adwords search settings are to receive clicks only from google's search engine, as we are doing testing on keyword behavior with a few specific keywords. The second image will show that we have somehow 7 total search clicks, but not for any of our specific keywords. I'm confused. . . and hungry. . . I'm 'confungry'. 😉 jk any thoughts are welcomed. search-1.jpg search-2.jpg
