What are SEO's using for Keyword Research?
-
Hey folks,
I just wanted to find out what everyone is using for keyword research now that the Google Keyword Tool has been retired. I know there is a form of it in Adwords, but something a little more usable than this.
Cheers,
Andy -
I do find this a little clunky compared to other available tools sadly. I have had it for 12 months and never really use it.

I hadn't seen SpuFu before and that also sounds interesting!
I have a lot to look at and try here - thanks for the responses folks and keep 'em coming if there are others!

I use the SEO Power Suite (link-assistant.com). It's not the simplest, but it's pretty complete and easily supplemented by online tools. It's not cheap but it gets accurate data and has multiple customizable features for serious people

The Keyword Snatcher looks pretty amazing Tom! Thanks for sharing that... Think I will be grabbing a sub there

Hello Tom,
The keyword snatcher looks pretty good, but does it work well in UK?

Absolutely loving Keyword Snatcher right now. One-off fee and an absolute beast.

Adwords (keywords tool in all different options of search and keywords suggestion) & Semrush (paid and free version available, good also for competitors analysis).
They are both very good I think. Other sources you can find at strumenti seo

Keyword Conundrum...
I have 3 keywords that I am targeting. Assume for the time being that they are all equally competitive. Includes local exact match monthly searches: Managed IT Services - 3600 IT Managed Services - 720 Managed IT Support - 170 They are all exactly synonymous, not to mention other keywords such as IT Managed Support, Managed IT Service, IT Managed Service, Managed IT Service Provider, etc.. My current strategy is to target the top 3 all on one page. The problem then is the title tag: Managed IT Services | IT Managed Services | Managed IT Support Pretty spammy. I could build pages for all 3, but how would I incorporate them into the website since they are all synonyms. Can I get some recommendations on how to handle this? What would you use for a title tag? How would handle separate pages with synonymous content?

How to work my keywords - should I use exact, broad and phrase match in the same adgroup?
I'm looking at my adwords, and am looking to strengthen them, improve quality score by making the wording more appropriate, and ensuring they link to a more relevant page rather than just my home page. In an AdGroup should I be using all three (broad, exact and phrase) or does this just confuse Google. What are the advantages/disadvantages? When I was doing the keyword research, for some of my phrases, there was little difference in price (sometimes as low as a 3p difference) between a broad match (with large potential numbers) and an exact match (with a tiny target group) so it would seem best that I target the broad match - make sense?

Keyword Analysis Tool
Can someone please enlighten me on the Keyword Analysis tool Matrix. Does Domain Linking refer to the number of links back to that domain as a whole? Also why is it that a page with a lower page ranking can be way ahead of one with a domain ranking that is way higher or vice-a -versa? What is a good number to go after? what is actually attainable? Thanks

No KWs to target and SEO value
Hello, I'm writing some on-going Q&A type blog posts and perform KW research for each post; however, there are a few where the question is not a popular topic at all and because of this, there are no KWs to target. I've checked a few sources. The question needs to be answered and i'm trying to get as much SEO value as i can. Just wondering how have you gone about this? Just answer the question and it will naturally target the long tail?

Comprehensive Keyword Research Report?
I'd like to provide a keyword research report to a client, that includes all of the keywords we're targeting, organized nicely along with relevant data for each (keyword difficulty, search volume, etc.). Is there a way to do this other than running an individual report for each keyword? I'd like to avoid sending them a 50 page document showing all of the keyword research 😉 Thanks for any help! Josh

Is using "-" in the title of a page to seperate targeted keywords bad for seo purposes?
For example "Dog-Leashes" Is that bad if I'm targeting dog leashes as my keywords.
