Giving a final nudge to lead the serps
-
hi
might be a weird one to ask.working on an ecommerce site, using all new inbound marketing best practices the site positioned on many keywords on the second page of results. the site started to generate income. Assuming budget is not an issue here, do you have any suggestions on how to give it the final push.
any ideas will be considered.

Giving a final nudge to lead the serps
Final nudge to lead the SERPs?
I guess we have been doing the final nudge for at least ten years.
Two people, all day, every day, working hard on new content. Two people make it rain and one person takes care of business... and a couple part time people and some contract help also doing content or taking care of technical details.
That is enough effort to get one site ranked in moderate to heavy competition and a couple more held in the SERPs in light to moderate competition. It's really hard to "lead the SERPs" when certain powerful websites are above you. There are plenty of places where I look and decide that we are outgunned, will always be outgunned, but I can still get a ton of traffic on the long tail.
You competitors could be noobs or they could be smart, strong and hungry. WHO they are will decide what you will need for this "final nudge". Our final nudge or perhaps better "daily nudge" is to throw content at it as fast and as hard as you can, making sure that your content is better than what anybody else has produced. Even with that there will be places where you just don't have the resources to compete.
SEO is a battle of resources.

Hi Guy
Whilst you have said you are using all new inbound marketing practices, it's a difficult question to answer with limited knowledge of the details of what you are doing for an eCommerce site you have not said what it sells. You may be doing some of the inbound things well but others not so well.
You've heard it before I am sure, but high quality unique content is very important - even for an eCommerce site, Does the site have a blog? Have you written articles about how to best use the products the site is selling, or how to look after them, or what people are saying about them, or the story behind how the products are created?
In terms of the sites ranking above yours, take a look at what they are doing, Can your site do it better than them?
And what about the site's brand identity? Are there ways you can grow the brand's fan base or a community of followers around the products you are selling.
Depending on the sector your site is supplying to, some or none of the above may apply, but primarily it is important to get inside the head of you customers, understand what questions are they may be asking and shape what you do on the site for them and not for the search engines.
I hope that helps,
Peter

My Website's Home Page is Missing on Google SERP
Hi All, I have a WordPress website which has about 10-12 pages in total. When I search for the brand name on Google Search, the home page URL isn't appearing on the result pages while the rest of the pages are appearing. There're no issues with the canonicalization or meta titles/descriptions as such. What could possibly the reason behind this aberration? Looking forward to your advice! Cheers

Very different serp rankings for different countries
Hi! A client of mine has a global presence and we are therefore tracking serp rankings for multiple Google domains; google.com, google.ie, google.co.uk for example. One page is ranking quite well in Google.ie (position 11 right now) while at the same time ranking extremely bad in both Google.com and Google.co.uk (position 100+). How can that be?? I did do some optimization (for example Title and Desc) before the rankings in .com and .co.uk went really bad (they were higher before (pos 30-40)). But it is the same page Google indexes...but the results are very different. How can this be? What can be done? Thanks!

Hi Guys, Can anyone please help with my situation. My domain is www.greedybins.com.au. I had title setup in every pages differently, and it has been 2 months since I made the changes. I keep checking by using site:www.greedybins.com.au in search. So far, only 1 title that been show correctly in SERPs. I used SEO Yoast before, I changed to All In One SEO Pack plugin, the titles are changing, but still not accurate as I made it. Somehow Google altered it by itself. I have tried fetch and submit sitemap couple times from Google Search Console. Could anyone please advise?

Local Search: Technically optimised for Reviews & Stars, but not showing in SERPS
Hi, for over a year now we actively use schema.org into our yellow pages platform.
Technical SEO | | TruvoDirectories
Simultaneaously we managed to set up a review platform to attract more users to write reviews. We also monitor closely local search experts like (blumenthal and co 😉 ). So I learned in this post http://blumenthals.com/blog/2013/07/19/how-many-reviews-to-get-the-star-treatment-somewhere-between-4-and-5/ that it takes you 4-5 reviews to get the star treatment by Google. But at this moment, I cannot find any star treatment. For example on this listing http://www.goudengids.be/hollywok-kortrijk-kortrijk-8500/1/ you can notice the presence of 6 review (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.goudengids.be%2Fhollywok-kortrijk-kortrijk-8500%2F1%2F) but in Google itself it is not displayed as such. So my question is: in your experience, are there any other parameters that will trigger the stars to appear?0 -

Do FB Likes, Tweets, +1s etc give weightage to a page
Lets say I publish a PR with two anchor links (keywords) to a particular website. Will these backlinks get more weightage in the eyes of Google if manage to get this page 100s and 1000s of FB Likes, tweets, +1s etc? Does this strategy really work?

Typo Title KW on SERP
dear team, just a question that always annoying me is Google takes typo title keyword on SERP which is not good for client's branding . i have no problem on the actual page meta title setting(correct KW) as well as internal link text, but only thing i can found this anchor text that other people use for the link is typo, so Google still takes that into account just like serveral years ago on Geroge Bush Miserable Failure? how can i get Google correct this ? only to submit request to them ? thank you, boson
