How can I maximize my On Page for these two common usages
-
I have a page that is tuned for this query: 1886 ten dollar bill and I am happy with my placement.
The same page performs poorly if someone types: 1886 $10 dollar bill
Is there anything I can do short of having another page tuned for the $ rather than 10?

Great, I'm so glad your issue has been resolved, Greg! Thanks for updating us!

Hi Greg, has this issue been resolved? We'd love an update! Thanks, Christy

Easiest thing to do is replace every instance of "1886 ten dollar bill" with "1886 ten dollar ($10) bill" - it contains all variations you need to rank for. Let me know if that helped.

Sounds like I need to do some trial and error with the on page utility. I will add the $ to the body and see where I get too.
Thank you!

I agree re two pages... I can't imagine the overhead that would require. I grade an A for the spelled out version and an F for the $ version.

Hi Andy,
I am working from New York city but anywhere in the US should hopefully give the same results. The target is the US.
I sent you the URL privately.
Kind regards,
Greg

I've actually gotten google to recognize scenarios like that for pages like that so it's possible.
I've experimented on doing some internal linking (if possible) and get a few links to come in with the $ sign.
Mention the $ sign in the body and eventually, I've gotten it to work.
Sometimes, location does affect that kind of search term though so that's another variable.

I would not recommend setting up a different page for the different queries.
Have you used the Moz page-grader tool and entered in each query to ensure you get an "A" grade for both queries?

Hi
What is the url you are wanting to improve - without looking at the page its a bit hard to give some advice. if you don't want to share it - you can send me a private message and I will take a look.
Without looking at the page, does the page actually contain the phrase '1886 $10 bill'.
Also when you are checking your rankings, what area (state, town etc) are you looking from so that I can try replicate the same conditions as you and see the same competitors. So that I can identify what is making them rank above you.
Thanks
Andy

Keyword ranking for different page than the page optimized
I have optimized "equipment trailer for rent" on this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-deckover. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why Google has chosen to rank the keyword phrase for this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-24 This is just one example. It has happened on several of my pages / keywords.

Ranked page is not desired page
I have a question on a problem I am currently faced with. There is a certain keyword that my employer wants to rank for. The good news is that sometimes it does rank in the top 5 pages of Google. (It drops in and out) The bad news is that it is going to a page that we need to keep, but not the ideal place we want people who are looking for that keyword to go to. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of situation and what tactic they used to get people to the better page.

Why isn't our site being shown on the first page of Google for a query using the exact domain, when its pages are indeed indexed by Google
When I type our domain.com as a query into Google, I only see one of our pages on the homepage, and it's in 4th position. It seems though, that all pages of the site are indexed by google when I type in the query "site:domain.com". There was an issue at the site launch, where the robots.txt file was left active for around two weeks. Would this have been responsible for the fact that another domain ranks #1 when we type in our own domain? It has been around a couple of months now since the site was launched. Thanks in advance.

Missing meta descriptions on indexed pages, portfolio, tags, author and archive pages. I am using SEO all in one, any advice?
I am having a few problems that I can't seem to work out.....I am fairly new to this and can't seem to work out the following: Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂 1. I am missing alot of meta description tags. I have installed "All in One SEO" but there seems to be no options to add meta descriptions in portfolio posts. I have also written meta descriptions for 'tags' and whilst I can see them in WP they don't seem to be activated. 2. The blog has pages indexed by WP- called Part 2 (/page/2), Part 3 (/page/3) etc. How do I solve this issue of meta descriptions and indexed pages? 3. There is also a page for myself, the author, that has multiple indexes for all the blog posts I have written, and I can't edit these archives to add meta descriptions. This also applies to the month archives for the blog. 4. Also, SEOmoz tells me that I have too many links on my blog page (also indexed) and their consequent tags. This also applies to the author pages (myself ). How do I fix this? Thanks for your help 🙂 Regards Nadia

Too many on-page links
Hi, My website - www.thepartyhouse.com.au is showing as having too many on-page links for over 4,000 pages. Take for example the homepage which is showing as 188 links, but I don't understand this because I've used SEO tools to display the links and I am showing around 90 links on this page. How can I see what all the links are? Thanks

Optimally, how many times should the key word or phrase you are targeting for a particular page be mentioned or appear on that page?
Our marketing team is debating how many times the key phrase on each of our web store's product pages should include the word/phrase we are trying to be competitive with. Can you advise?
