Strategy for implementing different languages
-
We are looking to implement a Spanish version of our websites and are torn between either doing it in a es.cleasrstreamrfid.com sub-domain or by using a sub-folder in our current site of www.clearstreamrfid.com/es/.
Just wondering which method would have a better impact on SEO and if the sitemap.xml files should be kept separate between the two language pages.
We were planning on using the geo targeting in webmaster tools to direct users in a certain region to a specific language although after some research it appears you can only geo target a specific country and not a region or language so also not sure what approach to take there as well to target all countries/regions with the Spanish language.
Should we even geo target or just serve english versions of our page with a selection to select a different language?
Any guidance or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks Patrick. I will take a look at these links.

Hi there
Take a look into hreflang attributes and language tags. This will help Google and Bing alternate the URLs and content. You can also do this in your sitemap.
There also great international SEO articles from Moz, especially this checklist.
You will want to geotarget your site variations in Google and Bing as well, if they do in fact target specific countries or regions.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hello,
Web Design | | SharonEKG
i cant seem to figure out how to approach this matter. we have a website and a domain setup in one place and we wanted to setup a blog for that website on a different hosting, what do i have to do to link between the two to make it so when a user type domain com /blog he will get to our blog that is hosted on a different hosting plan? with the blog hosting plan we received a temporary domain that does not expire but i have been told that if i redirect to that temporary domain it wont work correctly also, if we do manage to go through that process will accessing the blog will the URL show domain com/blog or will still show the temporary given domain? is my only option is buying a new domain and just link between the two? Multiple H1 Tags for different section on one webpage in HTML5 Website? Should I have only one?
https://www.tcs.com website has multiple H1 tag on around 40 out of 1000 pages. Webpage has different section and each section is important that's why used multiple H1 tag (one h1 for each section) **I understand, google will not penalize for multiple H1. But having multiple H1, for site like tcs, is it good or should use only one H1 tag? **Pls check https://www.tcs.com to see heading tag(6 heading tag used).

Creating a new website, but I'd like to control it under a different domain.
I'd like to control it under the domain of another website with a higher DA. Can I create the new website (website A) and do an immediate re-direct to another website (website B)? Or would I be better at putting it as a subdomain? Such as www.websitea.websiteb.com? Cheers all, Rhys

Responsive design to serve different page for IE8 - SEO Implications?
A client is planning on developing a responsive designed website which redirects visitors using IE8 to a static webpage that encourages users to visit in another browser. What are the SEO implications of a server redirect just for IE8 visitors? Possible solutions: would containing a link on the static page to "continue browsing" and give the visitor access to the entire site in IE8 work well? Or should a CSS overlay message appear to IE8 visitors, no redirect, that encourages them to visit in another browser? Or serving a separate stylesheet for IE8 visitors, and not giving a responsive experience be optimal? Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. Cheers, Alex

Trying a completely new design on our .co.uk should I have it on a different IP to my .com
We have just relaunched http://www.gobananas.co.uk/ and made the site much smaller than .com and dissallowed robots on 98% of the site. The goal with this site is to get users to use the search facility rather than go through our menus like we have on .com Should I host the UK site on a different IP number to the .com?Thanks

3 Brands, 3 Services, 3 Different Websites Right?
My client was told that having 1 website for 3 different brands/services is better than having 3 websites. I need your help to prove my value to a new client. This client has worked with Reach Local on PPC for some time and when they first got started the Reach Local Markering Consultant told this cleint that they needed to have one site for better SEO purposes. The client was told that Google ranks websites higher if they have more paid traffic going to them. I've been doing this for long enough to realize this does not help ranking, at least not enough to make a difference. Keep in mind this is for 3 different companies. One company does plumbing, another electrical and the last one does air conditioning. They also have 4 locations but only two locations have mutliple services opperating out of them. I understand these 2 location will not have there own Google+ Local / Places listing. Using the same address for 2 different business and expecting a first page ranking is just not possible. Right now when you visit the clients website you see a logo that rotates with a banner section that follows the logo rotation. First you see the AC Company and then the Plumbing etc. I see this as confusing to the end user and it is more work to get it ranked for SEO. I recommended that we build 3 speerate websites for each service and just list out all the addresses that the company services on the contact page. I would also design inside the footer links to the other services for branding purposes. Please share your thoughts on how you would handle this if you were doing the SEO for your own 3 different business services. I really appreicate any input/insight to this. Thank you so much in advance!!!!

Visual strategy
Currently working on a project for a talented photographer and retoucher from Europe who specializes in glamour, fashion, editorial. I'm a very analytical person and I want this website to have a highly visual impact and a good SEO implementation. My question is: Is it recommended to display the portfolio section on the frontpage or on a separate page. There is also the possibility to include some files on frontpage and have a separate Portfolio page with more projects. Which path are you recommending? Thanks
