Comparing Competitor On-Page Grades?
-
When I run an advanced SERP report or even the basic keyword difficultly report it gives me competitor On-page grades. I can look directly at their code, but I'm wondering if there is a way to easily see and export a .csv or excel file of the on-page ranking factors for the top 1-10 results comparing them to a page on my site? Seems like that would be really helpful and much quicker than looking at source code to understand what on-page factors are contributing to their success. Is there any way to do this in Moz or a free tool elsewhere you would suggest?

Hi Keith!
You can reach the standalone On-Page Grader from the top navigation menu. Screenshot attached.

Thanks that helps! Where did you find the link to that? I couldn't find it anywhere in moz analytics, only the other one that wouldn't allow me to enter other site's urls. Yeap I'm aware of the limited nature of on page factors.

Hi Keith
We have two on-page graders, one for campaign only URLs and one for any URL at moz.com/researchtools/on-page-grader
You can run a full report for any of your competitors, this will be the only way to obtain a breakdown of the factors, but may not be something you would necessarily focus on as they are only guidelines as you can just see the grades in full SERP reports to rule out keyword optimization as a ranking factor. This is if you are wondering why you see a page ranking higher than others with an F grade. There isn't a need to get a page report as it is likely ranking due to other factors.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. To be more clear I'm using the keyword difficulty tool and serp tool in moz which gives you the top 10 competing urls to your page for a given keyword. One part of that is the on page optimization.
Currently moz gives you and your competitor a rank for on page optimization. A-F. If you try to plugin the competitor url into moz on-page optimizer it does not allow you. What I think would be really helpful is if moz exported a .csv or excel of those 10 top competitors and how they did in each of the 20 categories or so of on page optimization. So you could easily see areas that your competitors were strong in and your page was weak in. A more manual approach would be just to be able to see the rankings that a single competitor site got by plugging it into on page optimizer and then comparing it to your site. Currently I've been unable to get moz to do even that.
Now I can do it the old fashioned way of viewing source code and such but that's not why I subscribe to moz I was hoping they had a tool that did this. Open to suggestions.
P.S. I know on page is not the end all solution it's just one of many factors, just thought moz would have something for this since it already has the on page analysis tool for YOUR site pages.

With competitor keyword tracking in Moz you can see where your competitors are in the serps, which basically tells you their on page grade. (A rough guestimate at least.)
Also you will be able to look at graphical data for each competitor for that keyword.

Hi Keith,
I'm just curious, why would you like to fetch those element again & again? You have the list of your competitors (hope they aren't more than 4-5) and you can simply browse their product and pick a sample set of their pages, which are mapped to your pages for any given query. Now, do a on-page grade test for both the pages and you'll be able to compare them on each an every on-page element.
Assuming, each and every page on their (or yours for that matter) won't have absolutely unique template and hence, on-page grade report of any given page of one kind, would be more or less the same for other pages from that set.
Here's the task for you, pick he various types of pages you have for your site, take some sample instances (even one would be enough too, I guess) of each type. Now, pick the mapped landing pages on competitors sites and do the comparisons.
P.S Its an interesting requirement and I was thinking about building some interesting tool like this, thanks for your suggestion. I would love to work on this, if time permits
Cheers!

Top pages > PNGs, JPGs & PDFs > What to do?
After exporting Top pages list in Moz Pro, I noticed lots of pages with high PA (page authority) are actually random images (.png & .jpg) and documents (.pdf). Question 1: Should I make a redirect 301 from an image/document to the actual webpage? If not, what should I do to keep the ranking, but point the URL to the correct place? In addition, lots of highly ranking URLs are actually outdated. They are coming from the old website. I switched to the new one more than a year ago. Question 2: If I create a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one, will I keep the high ranking? Thanks,

Page Optimization problem in Moz
Hello there, I've been using Moz Pro for a year now, and encountered I've encountered small issues here and there (like some features not working currently, but they start working after a few hours tops) but now I have a bigger issue. Page Optimization feature stopped working and it's dead for five days now. Even my older research is gone. (check the images) Anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? It says that the crawler is blocked or the page isn't working, and when I check the pages in other platforms with crawlers it all goes smooth. All of the pages are working, and all of the crawlers (tested even in Google console) are doing fine. I even had the Moz crawler on 04.07.2019 as the standard week crawl and I got the results. Everything else is working just fine, I have a problem with the Page Optimization feature only. Thanks in advance, Ivan Ga4LKkQ

Why isn't the Moz crawler getting all of my item pages?
I am stumped and Moz is being terrible to work with. This site has about 40k pages 39,800 of them are item pages roughly. Moz is only finding about 2400 of my pages. So they are missing most but not all of my item pages. I do not know which item pages they are missing. The fact that they are finding about 2k but not the rest leads me to believe the crawler is struggling with pagination. The site is built on Magento 2 and uses the Amasty Layered Navigation extension. Does anyone have any ideas?

Keyword Research Using K Explorer for Company with No Competitors
Hello, I'm doing keyword research for vapementors.com I'm trying to use Moz's Keyword Explorer to do keyword research for them, but it's tough. They have no real direct competitors. I typed in a lot of related keywords in KE but couldn't find anything real high traffic. So far I have just gave them a list that I extracted from a bunch of KE results, but they rank for most of them already and there wasn't a lot of insight from my list. What do you suggest? Thanks

Moz's on-page grader
Hello, I am having an issue with Moz's on-page grader. Grading the page, http://www.babyklar.dk/tigerspring/26-ugers-springet.html for the keyword 'Tigerspring 26 uger' I am receiving the error message: 'Exact keyword is used in page title' - tagging it as a highly important but easy fix. But I only have the words "Tigerspring 26 uger" in the title, so how can this not grade as Exact keyword? Is there somthing wrong with the system? Or is it me? Thanks very much. Best regards

MOZ crawl test is not reporting on all the pages on my site.
I've run the crawl test one of the sites I've taken over SEO for, however its only picking all the pages. For instance it indexes all the pages under xxxxx/us but none under xxxxx/au or xxxxx/uk The pages are being indexed as they're ranking in Google. Thanks.

Duplicate content reported for totally different pages
Hi, The Moz report is showing just over 21,500 duplicate page issues on our site. This is more or less every page we have. However when I look at the pages it says are duplicates they are totally different (it could for example report that a news page for 2009 is the same as a product page just added which has no relation when you read the content or view the page). What sort of thing could it be picking up as duplicate content? I assume it must be something in the HTML for the site rather than the actual page content as there is no cross over at all on the pages highlighted. The only issue I can currently identify is that the menu for the mobile version of the site has a huge number of internal links which I will cut down. If the tools purely look at HTML content this could be seen as duplicate but shouldn't it be clever enough to realise what is content and what is site structure? Thanks,

I have been unable to use the export button on any of the Moz pages.
Every time I click the export button on the upper right portion of the page, it says "preparing to export", but either nothing is exported or a blank document is downloaded. I was specifically working with the Fresh Web Explorer but have noticed this on all pages. Is anyone getting this export function to work?
