Wordpress 'Hide Title' Feature, does this help shorten title length
-
Im wondering if anyone with some Wordpress experience can help me.
I am using Yoast to create my page titles, but yet Moz tells me that my page titles including my actual page title tag which is 'dumfries wedding photography | Hemera Visuals'
by clicking on the 'hide title' feature in wordpress will this in turn stop wordpress from automatically adding my page title and therfor bring my title length down drastically? And if so will I have to wait till google next crawls my page to see if this works?
Kind Regards Cameron.

Hi C Pagan,
I work almost exclusively with WordPress and I am very familiar with the Yoast SEO plugin. If your theme has the option to hide titles or you do this with some customization this does not remove the titles from the pages and posts themselves but hides them from being visible to humans not bots and search engines.
In Yoast you have to manually set the page title in the admin under settings - general site title. For all pages and posts Yoast will automatically use the page or post title along with the site title so if your page title is Plumbing and your site title is Plumbing NY your page title will be Plumbing - Plumbing NY by default.
You must manually change your SEO page titles in the meta box underneath the editor on the individual pages or posts to be what you want them to be. Here you can also specify your focus keyword and the pages description.

Hi C Pagan,
It been a little while since my wordpress days so bare with me.
Wordpress themes normally add a page title in the form of a heading to many pages - The hide title option as far an i am aware removes this heading, either by stopping the code generating it or moving it way off the page where it is not visible.
If this is still correct, then the hide title features will have no impact - the error from moz it talking about the Title bar - this is the text that appears on the tab in your browser, you can preview it in its full length in most browsers by mousing over it for a few seconds. You can use this to preview any changes you make without having to wait for the listing to change in google.
I would imaging your titles are being automatically generated using the page name plus a prefix or suffix and together it has become to long
I think in yoast you do something like SEO → Titles & Metas to get where this is editable, but it has been a while.

Neglected Blog SEO help
I am wedding & sports photographer in San Antonio. I've been busy with photographing sports (lots of them) & totally neglected SEO work for nearly 2 years. I know it's a broad question but what is the best way to get back on track? Should I create a strong landing page with keyword wedding photographer? Should i make separate websites - one for weddings, one for sports? Is PPC good way to jump start? Do I have website structure problems etc? If anyone can comment, that would be great. I am willing to hire SEO experts so if anyone knows anybody, please let me know My website is www.soobumimphotography.com Thank you in advance

I'm looking to put a quite length FAQs tab on product pages on an ecommerce site. Am I likely to have duplicate content issues?
On an ecommerce site we have unique content on the product pages (i.e. descriptions), as well as the usual delivery and returns tabs for customer convenience. From this we haven't had any duplicate content issues or warnings, which seems to be the case industry-wide. However, we're looking to add a more lengthy FAQs tab which is still highly relevant to the customer but contains a lot more text than the other tabs. The product descriptions are also relatively small. Do you think this will cause potential duplicate content issues or should it be treated the same as a delivery tab, for instance?

Why Can't I Get Indexed?
I cannot seem to get my website indexed by Google! I submitted the sitemap using Google WMT about a month ago but only one page is being indexed. There are very few backlinks to the site, so I don't believe there are any penalties due to over-optimization that would prevent indexing. Also, my robots.txt file is properly configured and is not preventing any pages from being crawled. I've tried using the "Fetch as Google" settings in WMT with no luck. Any ideas?

The effect of having CR LF HT commands in a <title>tag</title>
Hello. I am looking at a customer site with a CMS system that is controlling the population of the meta TITLE Currently it has the TITLE set as this <title>(CR)(LF)<br />(HT)Site Details REMOVED - Customer name REMOVED(CR)(LF)<br /></title> Naturally, we would prefer it to be <title>Site Details REMOVED - Customer name REMOVED</title> What affect would these commands have in the title! Google shows their title when you Google the company website... so I guess it can see it .... but GA "Top Site Content" widget shows it as blank ? Any ideas? Cheers

Keyword density and it's impact?
How beneficial is properly optimised text on your website? I have been reading copy blogger and they seem to think it's almost the foundations and can have a massive impact - thus their software for improving optimised text. So... The way I see it, content can fit into 3 areas: 1. Over optimised - keyword stuffed 2. Produced without the keyword in mind and then small changes, maybe the keyword used once or twice within 500 words, slotted into the h1 tag. 3. Optimised - At the front of the h1 tag, density of roughly 3-4%, emphasised with bold and italic. What kind of impact can number 3 really have on rankings? If your position 7/8 could it be possible to see position movement from content changes? Cheers

How long does it take to seen Title in SERP
A friend of mine asked me how long it takes before Google shows the right Title in the SERPs. He changed the title of his homepage some weeks ago but Google still shows the old Title in the rankings... I'm a Wordpress user and don't have this problem, when I change something in the title it doesn't take that long to see the changes showing up in SERPs

Page titles and descriptions
A website has several wigets to show Each wiget with its own page The wigets mostly just vary in size How would you suggest titles be done? Example: Wiget 1ft Wiget 2ft Wiget 3 ft an so on........ Would this trigger a duplicate content issue given “Wiget” leads in the page title?
