Rich card formatting for events
-
Hi all,
I'm having trouble with getting Rich Cards to show for my site and am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Here’s an example for Louis CK. His bio is pulled from Wikipedia, but the tour dates are drawn from elsewhere. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=louis+ck
I coded in a basic card for one of our events and nothing showed up (several weeks ago at this point so not just a crawl issue), and never registered with Google Webmaster.
Honestly, I haven’t seen an example of an endurance event using a card. Sports-wise I’ve only seen them for major sports teams, but I’m hoping we can take advantage of it somehow.
When submitting a search query on Google, once you add any event name beside Vermont, our business card doesn’t display (we’re based in Vermont), so it would be great to have something that can show up for each event.
We also can’t get our social profiles to show up in our business card, after adding the code for Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus. I’m wondering if that’s partially because our social accounts are named Wrenegade Sports when everything else is Farm to Fork Fondo. (Not personally a proponent of that name difference and I suspect it hurts us).
Thanks!

Howdy.
So, I bet you've seen this page before - https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/events If you haven't, check it out.
Another step - "register" with Google Search Console. And after you apply all the schema markup, test it with google structured tool. That and the GSC will tell you if something is wrong.
Another important thing to consider - schema is only a suggestion to google. If you have all the data 100% right, it doesn't necessarily mean that the rich snippets will show up. All we can do is make sure it's right, submit to google and hope for the best

3 Main Local Ranking Factors
In the Moz article titled Should You Pay for Local Listings Management? by Miriam Ellis, she makes this statement: "Prominence, proximity, and distance are the three types of factors Google tells us it takes into account when ranking local businesses. " I always thought that classic on- and off-page SEO was one of those three factors. What puzzles me about Miriam's statement is this: What's the difference between distance and proximity? Aren't they the same thing?

Google map pack confusion
Hi there!
Local Listings | | RobWilson
My name's Rob and I'm the owner of Nimble Nerds in Sydney, Australia. We provide on-site visits to customers at their locations to provide IT Support. I would love some insight on my confusion please, as I can't get my head around it after months. I've made individual pages targetting individual suburbs, eg 'computer repairs putney'. I noticed that only suburbs without individual tailored pages were showing in google map pack. So to test it I deleted my Putney page so it would re-index to the home page. Not only did this not result in appearing in that suburb on Map pack I also lost my SERP ranking as well. Is it still good to make individual pages for suburbs please?
Is this going to negatively affect my map pack rankings in suburbs where they're pointing to the homepage?
Does map pack only point to homepages? Confused! Ahah0 -
Trading As Business Name
Some businesses are set us with a company name but trade under another name (or numerous other names). What's the best way to handle this when it comes to Knowledge Graph & Schema.org and what about NAP consistency? Am assuming the only way to handle this is to do something like this: Blue Widgets Ltd trading as Cars UK Or is there a better way?

Local Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries Disappearing from Google Maps when Plurals used.
This is the second time I have posted this question and never got a satisfactory result. I have an SEO client in Tacoma Wa and when you type (Dispensaries Near Tacoma they are in the Top 3 snack pack and the Google maps shows 20 other similar businesses. However, when you search (Dispensary Near Tacoma) only 3 or 5 recreational marijuana shops show up and my client disappears. Someone earlier suggested it could be because of the categories selection, but that can't affect ALL the other shops and like I said it happens in other cities. for example Dispensary Near Olympia vs Dispensaries Near Olympia. I have the full write up and pictures and diagrams on my blog. Please HELP! This could affect your future clients also. https://isenselogic.com/local-business-disappearing-on-google-maps-when-plurals-used/

Google Events Pack - Our events never show up while others not related do
When doing a search for "des moines wa events" the top results are the events pack. When we do a search, none of the events are even happening in Des Monies but in Seattle proper. Our pages have events schema on them and they do get warnings but no errors. Here is a link to one of our events pages in Des Moines that does not show up. Is there anything wrong with our page that could be preventing it from ranking? What are the factors that get events to rank in that area? What else could we be doing to improve our results?

Had a local SEO client completely drop off in all rankings...?
Hey everyone! I wanted to ask the Moz community on what I should be on the lookout for in this situation; I have a local SEO client, an orthopedic clinic, who out of nowhere completely dropped off the map. Their Search Visibility is now at .001%. I really have no idea what would have caused this... I have dozens of other local SEO clients and have never seen this before.
