Good morning! I have a quick question about international keyword research. So, I created a keyword list full of terms that we want to analyze in Latin America. My question is around search results. For example, if the keyword I am analyzing in English is "apples" and I choose the region as Mexico, should I submit the keyword to be analyzed as "apples" or the Spanish translation "manzanas"? I am confused as to whether the results account for the translation of someone searching "manzanas" in Mexico to the English term "apples" and how that whole process works. Let me know if I need to elaborate because I understand that the whole question is super confusing haha. Thanks for any help you can give!

Yes that is right if you go to your keyword explorer and research the term Manzanas you will get this results
- Difficulty 40
- Organic CTR 41%
- Priority 19

If I am doing keyword research, and I plug in manzanas for the region of Mexico, the search results return data based of that specific keyword for that region, correct?

If you are working on International SEO you need to keep in mind 2 things, the language, and the region. If you are running a research on Mexico the terms "Apples" and "Manzanas" needs to be treated as 2 different keywords. Probably the Volume of the terms Apple reflect all the search volume of People who speak English and Spanish so is usual for them use search query in both languages also reflect the people who are English speakers such as tourists, expats or businessmen, who are located in Mexico but they use their own language to use Google.
On the other hand, "Manzanas" is for sure that is used for Spanish speakers who are using that specific query. In my experience working on multilanguage websites, this terms or keyword probably can share the same keyword intent in some cases but in other cases, they don't share it. There is no static rule about it. (you need to speak both languages to understand the difference)
Example of that can be the term "apple computer" for Google the intent behind that query is the brand Apple (computer) and Google will return the URL for that brand, but Google will select the user preference to present the best possible result
So for English speakers, Google will show www.apple.com and probably for a Mexican the result will be www.apple.com/mx/ againalways based on the user preference even when both used the exact same query "apple computer" and even when both are in the same location

Low Competition Keywords
My blog, which started in May, is doing really well except with Google. My traffic is growing and so are my subscribers etc but my keywords have very high competition. I don't really like google's new keyword research tool. Any advice for finding keywords I have a chance with? I am only ranking in the top 50 for one keyword (#1-2 spot) but it doesn't give me a lot of traffic. Thanks!

Identifying Keywords - Longtail
I need some clarification as to how exactly keywords work. I learned that I should focus on more specifically targeted long-tail keywords. However I am uncertain of how this actually works. Say I decide to use the longtail keyword "online dyslexia test for children". Will my page only be found by people when they enter that exact search term or will it also be found when people search for any of the other terms containing the same words? Suggestions for RU Keyword Research
Does anyone have suggestions for a better RU keyword tool than Yandex and/or is there a way to see exact searches in Yandex's keyword tool? It seems like the data is not at all accurate. For example - we are ranked #2 for a keyword which has over 40,000 monthly searches (searches according to Yandex keyword tool and position confirmed with someone doing a manual search in Russia). However, we are not getting any traffic for this keyword and according to Yandex webmaster tools the keyword only got 10 impressions this past month. Any ideas for me... or would using Google be preferable eventhough people in Russia don't really use Google?

Keyword Research, Feels like my head is about to explode in 1.2...
Hello fellow Mozzers! I've been reading quite a few books and forums on SEO for past few years. Finally a few weeks ago I decided to dive into SEO a lot more seriously and start building and optimizing our ecommerce site. We sell brand name servers, workstations, storage and related replacement and upgrade parts for them. I've read many articles, browsed all the popular SEO forums, watched SEO training videos religiously. I'm happy to say that I now (more or less) understand how to optimize a site/page for SEO (On page optimization, unique content/blogging, link building, social sharing, off page optimization, etc...) However the biggest challenge I'm have with is Keyword Research (which I think is the first and most crucial step). I can't seem to find a tool that will help me find good keywords/phrases that I can target in my business profile. Since its an ecommerce site, and we have about 2500 products which means about 2500 pages. the good thing about product pages is that there are part numbers which get searched quite often so I have no problem with selecting keywords for product pages, however for the home page its a NIGHTMARE. I searched the word "server" in Google keyword tool, and it shows that it has 40,000,000 monthly global searches with low competition. That's great news (right? high search volume, low competition) However when I google server or servers, the 1st page is filled with sites like: Dell, HP, IBM, Wikipedia, and a few more with a very high domain authority and thousands of links. So I'm assuming trying to target "servers" as my keyword for the homepage is probably a bad idea, correct? When I google "buy server" i get mostly irrelevant content like "how to start a calling card business, a few articles(also irrelavant). I guess my question is this: Can you please provide some advice or information on the keyword research articles and/or tools you use? Something that would provide relevant keywords based on a main keyword. Or am I not using the Google Keyword Tool properly I also checked out our main competitors site to see which keywords they use, to get an idea, but when trying to google the keywords they're targeting they're not being displayed on Google for those keywords on the first few pages. We are almost done building our new site which will have a few tools like online server configurator, Q&A section, Server Talk (Forum), Quick Product Finder(Suggests products based on entered criteria) and a few more Which most of our competitors don't have, and I pretty much have an idea on which keywords to use for those pages and sections of the site, but I am completely clueless on the keywords to use for the home page. Any help is greatly appreciated! Also forgot to add, should I just use the company name and a few simple keywords for the home page like servers, buy servers and then write weekly or biweekly article that are server related like Does a small business need a server? How do I choose a server for my business? Should I upgrade my server or buy a new one? Do I collocate or host in-house? Should I virtualize my server? Obviously adding links to products and services within these articles and try to create brand awareness that way?

Keyword search tool or API
Anyone have a suggestion for a simplistic (scaled down) version of a keyword research tool that I can put on our website? We need our clients to be able to perform some basic keyword research on their own without getting lost in the details of something too robust. We would like to control aspects of the tool, capture the data from the site visitor and move those results (from their searches) into a database or other web application.

On-page Keyword Optimization
So I have created a page for the term "denver buick" but the next largest search term is for "buick denver." Should I create another page focusing on this keyword, or optimize one page for both? It's hard to come up with unique content since they are the basically the same term. But most importantly, if I make this new page, how do I incorporate it into the site architecture? Thanks!
