  • My site has a high number of  fluctuating internal equity passing links in open site explorer from month to month, theses range from 30 000 and sometimes as high as 1,million. The fluctuations occur even when I have made no changes onsite. I have noticed that when the internal equity passing links are very high the DA drops and when they are low the DA is high, has anyone ever experienced this with open site explorer ?

  • Hi, On a Google SERP, when i activate the MOZ toolbar one of the sites says it has 1,258 links / 667 RDs. But when I open this same site up in OSE I get 3 inbound links (see attch). What's going on? 0Au9H

  • Hi all, I'm a bit frustrated because in open site explorer, my site is appearing with the worst possible scores for everything.  (see attch.) However, about 2 months ago I published my site onto a bunch of places using the Yext service. I also manually created 50+ additional links and citations as well as accounts on all the major social media sites. So, how come I get such bad scores and even a big fat zero on inbound links? Thanks! bYCpm

  • Dear Moz & Forum, I've been on a bit of a merry-go-round with one of my clients.  He knows enough about SEO to ask questions, and one thing he likes is to see the links that we are building inside Open Site Explorer. Now, of course we know that it takes a while for links to show, but that was ok, because we could just plug the links that we've built into a bit.ly link and then they'd show under Just Discovered Links in Open Site Explorer, and then boom, we're happy. It stopped working some time ago, and after the support team were a little unstuck I sent a hopeful tweet to @randfish.  Here is the response: https://twitter.com/randfish/status/788412272129347584 The advice to use Bit.Ly was removed swiftly after this!  Oops! The current Guidance is here: https://moz.com/help/guides/research-tools/open-site-explorer/justdiscovered It says: Want to see your new link in the Just-Discovered Links tab? An easy way to start seeing your link in the Just-Discovered section is to have it shared on Twitter and available on Feedly link. Feedly stopped supporting their own link shortner a few years ago.  Also, when you share a link from Feedly on twitter it is just the same as sharing a normal tweet, because it shares the standard URL for the site not a link to view on Feedly. Or, maybe these two statements are independant of one another and they should both be done separately?  I've done that too! I've also added the feed to recommended feeds inside fresh web explorer and that didn't work either! So, Moz and Help team please help me! How can I get links I've built for clients into Just Discovered Links? Thank you!

  • Hi everyone, I'm looking for a specific answer, so I'll give some specifics to help get some information. https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fgpstrackit.com%2F&filter=&source=external&target=page&group=0&page=1&sort=page_authority&anchor_id=&anchor_type=&anchor_text=&from_site= After looking through Open Site Explorer we've noticed one of the links from login.gpstrackit.net has a 10/17 spam score. https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/spam-analysis/flags?subdomain=login.gpstrackit.net This link is a 301 redirect from a previous login URL, so users can be redirected to our current site and login from there. I don't know how to approach this situation or what the correct fix is. Any advice would be much appreciated!

  • Hi everyone 🙂 I'm currently in the midst of optimizing a Scandinavian E-commerce site. I have a few questions, that hopefully someone will be able to help me get answered. Firstly, GoogleBots should be able to recognize "ø" as "oe", "æ" as "ae" and "å" as "aa" in the URL title. I've noticed that Moz' On-page grader does not support this unfortunately - has something changed or do Scandinavians just receive a little less love than the English? Secondly, how does one avoid keyword stuffing on E-commerce sites? The products that are displayed in category pages all make use of the same keyword that is targeted for that category. As such, some pages have 40+ mentions of the keyword, although in reality there are less than 15 (the rest being in the product names). Any tips or tricks on how to get this optimized or does Google simply recognize the site as an E-commerce site and somewhat ignores keyword stuffing - as long as the website has sufficient content? Thirdly, has something happened to Moz' Open Site Explorer? It seems like something has changed and when I checked for backlinks for the site today, only 3 was found. I know for a fact that many many more exist (which other tools also confirm when they scrape the site). Looking forward to hearing from all of you! Best, Mark

  • I have gone through a website with 81 DA; where its link equity back-links with highest DA of 70. Hardly 5 back-links 60 to 70 DA and just 25 root domains. This seems very unusual to me. Can someone clarify this for me? Can a website with low DA back-links can make high DA? If so what could be other major contributing factors for this?

  • So I've been looking over my latest crawl and two of each category appears, the only difference between them is a / at the end, i.e. http://thespacecollective.com/space-clothing/ http://thespacecollective.com/space-clothing One brings in a 200 code while the other brings in a 301. Given that the 301 is in place I know Google won't see it as a duplicate, but I'm curious as to why Moz picks up on this and whether or not there is an issue that needs addressing here?

  • I'm asking this for a guy over at SEOchat: http://forums.seochat.com/new-user-seo-questions-answers-123/unusual-change-domain-authority-486962.html Here's what his post says: Exclamation Unusual Change in Domain authority
Guys and Girls, I'm having a weird issue in one of my sites , thing is the site had DA 11 in July and however when check on September Site is having 26 without me doing any type of link building and there are no new posts for this month as well. When checked using open site explorer there are no backlinks indexed in their Mozcape index as well. Site: http://www.beijingtravelchannel.com/ Can you give me any plausible reasons for this to happen, so that i can check them out. Thanks in Advance.

  • Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time-submitter. I'm working with a client who has an old, established domain and brand name, decent DA score (43 overall, 52 for their home page), but almost all the rest of the pages of their small-ish website have a PA of 1. The domain itself has been around since 2000. The pages ranking at a 1 are not new URLs, they have a sitemap submitted to Google, are not being blocked by robots.txt, there's no auto-redirects or meta-refresh, and the response code for all pages is 200.  What else am I missing? What could be causing this? TIA for the help!

  • I don't know how technical I need to get here, but the mozbar has shown no data for PA and DA for over a week now. Also, the bar tells me to login within the search query version of the mozbar...  Even after I have logged in many times and the cach remembers me on the login page. I would love some assistance here from Moz directly.

  • I'm trying to use the Analyze Keyword tool in Moz Pro, and in the SERP Analysis table, my page has a PA of one, and zero root domains linking to it. If I look at the page in Google Search console, it says I have 229 root domains linking to the page from well known domains like github.com, meetup.com, stackoverflow.com, etc. This particular keyword has been tracked in Moz for the last 6 months, but I just noticed that it was extremely low. I am relatively new to Moz, so forgive me if I sound confused, but can someone explain to me how the numbers can be so low?

  • Hi, When searching many URLs in Open Site Explorer, we seem to be getting the same "There was an error getting your data" message come up instead of the URL's  metrics and inbound links. We have tried on different browsers as well, and the same issue results. Is there a reason for this or a way to fix this? Thank you! voPdqF5.png?1

  • New Moz Pro user here, and I've a question about the green "Get Keyword Difficulty" button that shows up to the right of the Google Search Keyword Term Input field after a successful search.  Clicking on this seems to have no effect for me what-so-ever.  Doesn't take me to the keyword tool, download a report, or add anything to the one screen link analyses in the search results.  In short, i'm not sure how this tool is supposed to function. I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome (Version 52.0.2743.60 beta-m (64-bit)) on a Windows 10 machine.

  • Hello. I check the QA and didnt find an answer to this. I've check one link on my site which is indexed by google but not by mozopensite explorer. If i search the url i find it on google but not i nopen site explorer. This only means that open site explorer havent find it. IF google index that page this means i'm getting the juice? My question is if google index a page for sure it follow one of the links (follow link). This is importan for me since this is my best DA link, probably a game changer for us. Also, Is there a Way to force opensiteexplorer to crawl this page? Thank you.

  • The healthpage says it is operational but I'm getting a ton of  'There was an error getting your data' messages. First I thought, it just happens to smaller pages, since testing it with moz.com worked. But even pages like nbc.com give me this error. I tried logging out an in again and even swithcing browsers - without success. Anyone else having problems like this right now? Cheers, Chris

  • All in all, this business focuses in a very small area, and there are things that others in our business do that we do not.Yes,a guy that knows nothing about SEO... This is a junk removal  business, and some of the competition do everything. This is a small outfit that only hauls junk.Much of the competition that we have sells junk bins,we do not.We just haul junk..we do not paint,or any of the things that they do. I just keep getting things sent to me me in my list here about bin sales etc,and it is making impossible to search for keywords without a way to manage what is coming in some way..Google let me do this, but I am  just hoping to use this tool entirely if I am going to pay for it.Maybe I am lost being new,and confused. How can  I use this tool? Are there any settings,or anything that you can teach a non SEO minded guy like me? Thanks

  • Hi there, I have been having an issue with OSE attributing page authority to one of the sites I have been looking at. The homepage page authority is fine but any page after this does not have any according to OSE. I have been in touch with Moz and they have stated it's because there are no external or internal links pointing to any of these pages. However, I know that their are internal links pointing to these pages from the homepage in the nav. The domain is: https://healys.com/ If anyone has any ideas what may be going on that would be great. Thanks!

  • Is it possible to generate a report that shows the keywords and position per page? For example Page xyc ranks for keyword1 - position 5, keyword2 - position 32, keyword3 - position9. I don't want to input the keywords, I want to be told via the report. I am trying to find out what SEO weight certain pages/sections of the website offer and if its OK to pull the content to change it into something else.

  • Hello, During my last two MOZ crawls over couple of hundred 803 errors showed up. Thought that this might stop, but nop still creeping up. Not sure what has caused this. My server providers are WP-Engine and they already said that all good at their end. Pretty much all of those errors are for photos on my blog. I'm a photographer. I have a web guy as well, but he is not sure what to do now and how to get this fixed. Website is a-fotografy.co.uk Thank you and if someone could shed some light. I did research here already, but nothing what cover photo side. Regards, Armands

  • For quite some time the Open Site Exporer has been labeling one of my sites has having "no contact info", the site has the phone number all over the website as well as the full business address in the footer.  It's been like this for some time.  Does the OSE make mistakes or am I missing something?  The contact information is fully indexable, I ran a spider simulator and it was able to pick up the phone & address.

  • Hi Webmaster, I just checked my website backlinks In MOZ OSE (Open Sire Explorer) tool, from the recent report history, I took the following details, June 29,2014 - 775 links
    Aug 13,2014 - 783 links
    Apr 06,2015 - 861 links
    Aug 10,2015 - 880 links
    Sep 16,2015 - 880 links
    Feb 16,2016 - 569 links
    Mar 03,2016 - 672 links
Mar 23,2016 - 55 links (Only coming from blog comments, also different targeted pages, I just removed few blog & forum links, that was around 100 only) Is there any tool issue? But In Google search Console (Google Webmasters Tool) it was saying more backlinks. But, at the same time, I checked my competitors website too, they were having more links with target page only. If anyone know the answer for this, it will be good for us. Thanks in advance,
    Cheers,

  • Hi, We have a page that have like 10-15 new content/pages per day.
    eg. domain.com/post-id-01/, omain.com/post-id-02/, omain.com/post-id-03/ etc
But somehow, under Just-Discovered, internal links only show 1 per day when it suppose to display like 10-15.
The layout for each pages is exact same except for the content changes and the url's ID changes. Our competitor on the other hand, they have like 5 new page per day, but somehow Moz shows their internal links as 25 per days.  Each of their new url have 4 more prefix number.
    Eg:
    new-page-01?track=990
    new-page-01?track=991
    new-page-01?track=992 etc
The above example url is technically as 1 page if without the "?" affix. Whiles all our new pages/url have unique id, but Moz only show 1 a day. Please advise on how to get Moz to shows all the new pages in Just-Discovered (internal link). Thanks, Cam

  • Hi there Moz is showing a +3M backlink rise in the dashboard for one of our domains. The site has always had around 350K backlinks and in Ahrefs and Majestic it still shows this number. But Moz shows a growth of +3M in the last two weeks. Is there a way to see where these backlinks come from in OSE? I can't seem to understand how it is possible to see this somehow. Can it be a mistake of Moz maybe?

  • Curious to know if anyone has run into a similar problem -  I entered a site containing a gTLD (.dog extensions) in OSE and it gave me an error (screenshot attached). I checked another tool (ahrefs.com) and was able to extract some data. Does anyone know if these type of domains are not included in OSE and/or why there was an error? Appreciate any insight! • Can you compare social profiles (FB, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin) for competitors sites -  in a similar way to how you can compare sites stats - (DA, PA, Backlinks etc) using OSE's compare tool?

  • We have built various links in directories and blogs to our website. We can clearly see that these links have been established on these websites. Some we have built well over 6 months ago. However, upon using a range of tools such as Moz Open Explorer, Cognitive SEO Backlink Explorer and SEM Rush's Backlink Checker, we cannot see in any of these backlink checking tools the full spectrum of links we know we have built displayed. In instances of using these tools, we are only seeing a very small sample of links that we have built. Our question here is then threefold: Why is it that a lot of these tools don't pick up the links we know we have built? Does google eventually see all the links we have built? Or does it suffer from the same problem as backlink checkers, unable to identify all built links? Is there a backlink checker that is throughly comprehensive, or close to, in its ability to identify all links? We have heard good things about Ahrefs and would love to hear people's thoughts here.

  • My client has just moved to a new website, and I receive "Sufficient Words in Content" error over all website pages , although there are much more than 300 words in those pages. for example: https://www.assuta.co.il/category/assuta_sperm_bank/ https://www.assuta.co.il/category/international_bank_sperm_donor/ I also see warnings for "Exact Keyword Used in Document at Least Once" although there is use of them in the pages.. The question is why can't MOZ crawler see the pages contents?
