Personal and Company Blog

What are the correct methods for showcasing articles on your Companies blog as well as your own personal blog to avoid the content to be flagged up as duplicate content?

Hi Sat13,
Just popping by to say I think you are being given the right advice by members who have contributed to this thread.
It kind of all comes down to effort. If you want to publish two distinct blogs, you need to be prepared to create separate content for them. Think of it from the perspective of the end user. Why should he read two different blogs if they duplicate one another in terms of the information they provide?
For example, SEOmoz has its own blog, and Rand Fishkin has a personal blog. Rand might choose to cross excerpt a post from one to the other if he thought it was really important, but he wouldn't simply pick up a blog post from one and put it on the other. That wouldn't be in the best interests of Rand's readers, right?
If you are dealing with a multi author blog at your business and would like readers to have the option to get to know more about the author's personal writings, create profile pages for each of the authors that link to their personal blogs. That will achieve your goal of letting readers know more about the authors' other publications.
But, bottom line, what you are reading in this thread is steering you in the right direction. Make distinct efforts for the two blogs. And, don't forget, you can use RSS feeds if you really need to have snippets going elsewhere.
Good luck!
Miriam

In the end of the day the best thing you can do is make unique articles on your blog, if you want to showcase content only of another site what you can do is take an image of the content then write a paragraph below the content about the image which you have from the other site (an idea)
But the method I usually use is to make unique content on most of my blogs, and not copy it accross sites.

If the company blog has weekly posts on various topics with various authors and a user wants to read more about a particular topic they can go and visit the author's personal blog.
I also think it makes sense to post the article from the company blog on the personal blog for those that don't know about it or aren't driven to it.

Chances are that content from your company blog should not belong on your personal blog.
'Not only is it a bad duplicate content practice, it doesn't make sense for a user. What motivation does a user have to visit your personal blog, if the same content can be found on your company blog?
If your looking for the correct method, posting good unique content on individual sites is the correct method.

Ideally I would like to publish the entire article on both sites.
I understand it's best to take a snippet and leave the content in whole on only one site but is there anyway around this?
I am writing many articles that will work just fine under my companies blog but I also want to include on my personal blog but don't want to push visitors away from any of the sites.

Hi MR,
Could you be more specific?
Are you looking to publish the article on one blog, and quote it on the other blog? If so, I typically would choose one or two paragraphs to quote, and use the actual quote tag in Wordpress, and then link to the rest of the article if people care to read more.

References for Healthcare Blog Content?
Hey everyone, We have a couple B2C medical/healthcare clients we produce content for and I was wondering what the industry stance is when it comes to giving references at the end of a blog, assuming there were no statistics or direct quotes used in the content. A lot of our content is written via research on a specific condition/treatment and doesn't really dive deep into specific medical nuances. Things like risks, recovery timelines, questions to ask, etc. are written about mostly. Still, should we be providing general references at the end of blogs to sites like WebMD, Medscape, etc. Thanks for any input!

Content Writing - it should be for the main corporate site, blog or for social media?
Hi There, I have my main site : example.com and a related blog https://blog.example.com/ My management does not believe frequent content posting on the example.com My Queries 1- Will it help boost ranking of **example.com **if we share frequent content on our blog https://blog.example.com/? How much impact it has? 2- Every body says content is the king, Ok fine, but when you are not allowed to share it on the main corporate site, then where to share it? Blog and social media sites? please help. 3- We are in a business where clients do not bother to go on sites and read, so in this scenario is it correct to say that you hav to create the content for search engine consumption even when your clients dont need it/or have not in the habit of reading it? Hope somebody will enligten me caught in catch 22. Regards Tanveer

At what point to stop comments on a blog? Do too many comments hurt the page?
I have a page that's ranking pretty well, and driving sales. That page is starting to get 10+ comments per day and is starting to get quite long. I was wondering if there is a point where I should disable the comments? My gut tells me that people interacting with the page, and Google seeing responses with the users SHOULD be a good thing not bad. But, then I think that a majority of the content of the page is no longer the article, but the comments. All the comments are good, non spammy and directly related to the topic. People just asking questions, etc. Good engagement, I should be happy right?

Wordpress Blog Pages, Duplicate Title Tag
Anyone have any experience in fixing the duplicate Title tag on a Wordpress blog multiple pages Basically the title tag remains the same on the pages /Blog/ /Blog/Page/2/ /Blog/Page/3/ My good friend Yoast Plugin doesn't seem to of resolved this (Unless i have missed something?) I don't really see this to be effecting anything and wouldn't of through it would either, but it would be nice to not see the notification within Moz site crawls and campaigns etc, its more of a cosmetic problem Any solutions ? Thanks James

Could posting on YouMoz get you penalized for "Guest Blogging?"
From my understanding, Matt Cutts hates guest blogging, so I told all of the attorneys here not to write anywhere but on our blog. However, I realized people are constantly "guest blogging' on Moz, and considering how smart these people are, it must not be hurting them or they wouldn't do it. However, what I don't understand is why? Yes, I do get that the quality of what's on YouMoz is high and not spammy, but I got the impression that didn't really matter. Guest blogging would get you into trouble no matter what. Can someone clarify for me? Thanks, Ruben

Blog for content
Noob here so be gentle... We have a blog on our homepage that we're using for content/SEO purposes. Does this content rank as highly as it would if it were a simple HTML page as opposed to a blogspot or wordpress from our page? In other words, are we getting as much content cred in this way as we would if blogspot wasn't affiliated? http://greatmats.blogspot.com/

Blog at blogspot
Hi My website provider doesnt yet have the function to integrate blog under my domain name so the blog is at blogspot. Inevitably there will be quite some links going from blog to differnet pages on my site. I havent yet incorporated a clickable link from my homepage to blog. I am not sure wether to do this or not. Will this just reduce the value of the links going from the blog ? Thanks
