Google + Circles
-
This question is so elementary, I'm almost embarrassed to ask it. I am having trouble directing potential followers/friends to Circle us on our Google+ business page. People add to my personal profile page instead, the result of which, i am not building up Circles for my business while I am building my personal profile which i don't care about. I have made personal requests, used our logo on my personal page header saying "Gina Fiedel representing (business name)" and "Visit our Google+ business page", etc. I feel like I'm missing something. Has anyone found any sort of magic bullet for this? Thanks!!

Hello again! I visited my Google+ business page to follow your suggestion to use the business page the same as personal in order to build circles. On my personal profile, there is an option to view people i may know and add them to my Circles (similar to People You May Know on LinkedIn). There is no option like that on the business page and so I'm wondering if you have any further thoughts on how to follow-through on this.

Thank you, Joanne.
I appreciate that you checked our site. I'm a bit surprised/sorry you didn't see the G+ 1 button on all our site pages. We use the Sociable plugin and it's there at the bottom of each page of the site directly above the footer along with the whole gang of socials. (I disabled Digg because it was slowing load time.) We don't have a ton of traffic on our site and so these efforts move very slowly. I know- 5 is pitiful. ;o(
What I understand you to be saying is that I can Circle people from our business page in the same way I've done that on my personal profile.
Admittedly, I only created the business page in the late Fall, but I still feel I'm lagging dramatically.

Hi Gina
I just googled your site and I can't immediately see anything to do with Google+ on there. I can see your FB and LinkedIn icons in the footer. Would be a good idea to put a Google+ on in there that links to your page.
I also googled your google plus page and found it I also noticed it doesn't have a lot of attention and 4 plus ones.
.
To grow that I would definitely add a plus one button to your site and when anyone clicks the plus one button on your site it will tally with the page.
I can see you post regularly on your plus page, you have only circled 5 people (from your page, not from you). You can treat your page like a personal profile, use it to circle people, follow, engage with them, circle your clients (business pages and their personal pages) with your page profile. It's not really possible for your page to start engaging when its only following 5 other.
Hope that helps, but feel free to ask if it doesn't make sense.

Thanks, William. I should have mentioned we have everything set up on our site. That's handled. I am referring to people who are not going through the site but directly to Google+ and either finding me there under my name, or already in my personal circles or some other path. It even seems like it's possible that even when someone looks for our business, they land on my personal profile instead....

Use any one of these multiple implementations on your site.
https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/
Just use the target as your homepage/+page. When they click it on your site it will show up on your page as well.

Google detects wrong information to compnay's knowledge graph on search index - Please help
This issue is about website properties' information showing on Google's search index with brand keywords. We have 8 different domains that operated separately in 8 countries. All are responsible for their individual domain. When I Google it with our brand name 'Flight Centre' in Google.ca, Google's search index shows company website link with flightcentre.com and detects all information, social profile etc.. from Flight centre Australia. Please see the screenshot. How to change this information that Google shows or detects website link and all other properties from flightcentre.ca? Anybody about with a quick answer would be awesome? Should I thank a share on Google Plus (as a business)?
Hi, As all that manage their social channels, I often track some of the posts and how people interacted with them. My question is quite simple: As a business page - Should I thank someone for sharing my post?
Branding | | BeytzNet
I assume it would make them feel worthy and will probably cause them to share again... However, will my page's followers see that I thanked someone (and will doing so annoys them if I now thank 10 different people)...? Who sees a comment my page puts on another person's share? Thanks0 -
I have a company with multiple locations through out the US and I am trying to figure out the best way to use Google+ and Facebook.
Should I create separate pages for each location or should I create one account and add all my locations to that account?

Google Maps Address Change
Below is an email from a former client. He is a personal trainer and his wife is a personal trainer and therapist. They used to operate out of their home. But now they have another location for their business. My questions: Will the address change work? How long will it take ? Is there anything more they can do? We've come across an interesting problem in the last couple of weeks. It took a while to figure out what was going on, but I think I've found the source. When one searches 'xxxx Athletic' on google maps (a very common way to find businesses as you know), the address that comes up is xxxxxxxxx (our home). Clients are coming to our house rather than the gym. Luckily we're only a few mins away by car, so they aren't late once they figure out what has happened. We need to change it to our new business address. I have tried to do this via Google Places, and thought I was successful this morning, but alas the listing is still our house. Perhaps it will take a few days to update, but in the meantime I have added a page to my personal Google+ profile with the proper address info. If you happen to know anyway to help us that would be great.

Do you have to have a Google+ profile page for a person before you can build a Google+ brand page?
There was some debate at MozCon 2012 about this issue. I have my personal Google+ page which I didn't want attached to the brand of one of the sites I manage. I saw no other way to create a new Google+ page for this brand except to create a new profile under a different gmail account. The problem is, I had to put in my personal name to create the profile (you can't put in a business name, Google won't accept it), so now I have two "Dana Tan" author pages in Google+, the second one is where I built the page for this separate business "Celebrate Communion." Unfortunately, this has muddied the waters because people are following me in both places (it's fragmented my circles). I would like to add customers who are already on Google+ to my business pages circles, but the business page won't do it. Is it possible to build a Google+ business page without all of this brand confusion? If so, can you send me directions? I have found nothing online that says you don't need a profile to do a brand page. Also, once the page is built, what is the best way for me to reach out to customers with google accounts? I don't see a good way to do that on businesses pages either. On my profile page I can load all the emails into my contacts list, but then those contacts can only be added to my profile page and not the brand page. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Dana

What affects the Google Merchant listing position under the Relevance Filter?
Hi, I set-up a UK Google Merchant feed about 8months ago now which is automated for around 25K products. I am trying to work out why some other sites still rank better than mine in the Shopping listing under the default 'Relevancy' filter. I have both a greater number and better reviews than the competitors and am showing a better price. I wonder whether anyone has any information on whether the following factors affect the listing position under the 'Relevance' filter: 1 - Age of the listing or domain 2 - Historic 'Click-Rate' for domain in Shopping listing 2 - Overall quality of the data feed i.e. do errors or warnings for other products in the feed affect the positions of all items in the feed? 3 - Bounce rate or on-page time of clicks to target site 4 - Diversity of review sources 5 - Google Checkout reviews 6 - Company location in Google Local For an ecommerce site this positioning can make a big-time difference to sales, so I'm hoping someone has run some tests on this they can share, and if not then why not? Hoping someone can throw some light on this, as I can't find a great deal out there on this fundamental revenue stream for me. Simon
