I have a domain with rank no 1 in google web search!
When I search for the keyword which are the domainname in google adwords, keyword search I get 1.200.000 searches in that keyword. Our domain have only 10 visitors a day - why is that?
-
i would assume anybody how searches the exact keyword of "how to tube" is not looking for fitness videos. if i wanted fitness videos i would search "fitness videos"
....
the keyword "how to tube" seems to be how to tube feed/how to tube quilt. Not how to be fit.
You need to target different keywords that are more relevant to your site. Forget about targeting your exact domain. If people want to go to how to tube's webpage, they'll find you at number 1 and go there. Otherwise they need to know that you are the resource for fitness videos or whatever it may be...
You're competing with YouTube. Good luck with that.
-
^^This is solid advice. You gotta figure the broad match kw competition is sites like howcast. And I'll just say it, you're worrying about rank when the most prominent content on your homepage is multiple offers to help me get ripped abs.

Thanks!

On the left-hand side of Adwords, there is a drop-down that says Match Types with Broad [Exact] and "Phrase".
Broad is selected by default.
Adwords defines these 3 match types as:
"Broad: The sum of the search volumes for the keyword, related grammatical forms, synonyms, and related words"
"Exact: The search volume for that specific keyword and close variants"
"Phrase: The sum of search volumes that include the whole phrase or near variants of the whole phrase"
When you are thinking about traffic from these types of keywords, it is best to use the exact match type. For example, you are typing in an exact match, "how to tube" and ranking #1. If you change your search to "how to tube surf", you are no longer #1. Do you see the difference?
-
According to Google:
Broad: The sum of the search volumes for the keyword, related grammatical forms, synonyms and related words
Exact: The search volume for that specific keyword and close variants
The more generic the words in your keyword the more searches you're going to see in adwords for Broad match.

OK, when I search for how to tube on Google we are no 1,
when I search in Google Adwords keyword tool with the how to tube I get 1.3 milion searches. Can you please explain "broadest term" for me, please. Have you any
idea to use this domain name more efficient. Thanks!
-
When you say 1200000 searches are you looking at exact match or broad match in adwords?
If your keyword is made up of a number of words then the broad match is going to be wildly unrealistic.
Once you've established a realistic search volume (and you can get a some of this info from Google Webmaster tools) you still may not be getting the share that you'd expect from a #1 ranking.
This is where you need to look at the google search results and take note of the competition there. Look at the adverts, rich snippets, image/video etc. All these could be more compelling for a searcher than your snippet.
Is there a well known name/brand that could be drawing your traffic away from your result?
Can you optimise your page title and meta descriptions to improve your click through from the SERPS. Can you add a compelling offer, benefits and a call to action?
-
That is the keyword at its "broadest term".
The exact match of your keyword only has 91 global monthly searches according to Google Adwords.

-

My keywords have low search volume - is it still worth starting a blog?
I'm thinking of starting a new blog, but when I did my keyword research I found that my keywords all have low search volume (under 100 searches per month, with the occasional keyword having 480 searches a month). Is this a deal breaker? Any recommendations would be great - thanks everyone!

Move blogspot blog Domain/Blog
We have had a blog up for over 2 years on brandname.blogspot.com. I want to get the SEO value out of the blog - we have 400 blog post. We don't get alot of visitors and the blogposts weren't even linked to the main site. Should I just 301 redirect and move everything to domain/blog? Is that the best way? Thanks.

Have i got my google adsense in the right place
Hi, i am working with a new site which is in wordpress and i am just wondering if i have the google adsense in the right place. I want great user experience but i also want maximum exposure to earn money to pay for the site. I must say i have no experience with google adsense, have used it for a couple of years but never sure where the right places are to put it. here is the page and i would be grateful for your thoughts. i was thinking of moving the top google adsense above the title and replace it with a 300 by 250 box in the middle of the content and either keeping the bottom or moving that to the side. any advice would be great. http://www.cheapflightsgatwick.com/rome-the-ideal-location-for-a-wedding-abroad/

Google plus Rich snippets for guest posting on large websites
I work for a content marketing company and the majority of our clients are large banks looking to get their message out there. We're thinking of favouring writers with Google plus profiles and adding the rel=author tag so all the articles incorporate rich snippets and a profile image. So this is more of a discussion into whether you think this would be beneficial to a large corporation. I know it aids in search and authority but it would mean a company would have many faces and they usually have one.

Think of when a company makes a speech on TV its always 1 person designated as the company spokesperson. Another way would be to write on behalf of somebody in the company and have there profile image but I can imaging this is frowned upon by Google. What are your thoughts0 -

We recently bought the .net version of our domain name. Our plans are to use it for blogging and link to our .com site through it. Is this a good or bad idea? Why or why not? Is there a better use for the .net site?
