Any PPC Companies out there who can work with small accounts
-
I have a story , 18 months ago we had our own PPC adwords account, we had been running at £3.20 CPA for quite some time and we were very happy. Sometimes CPA would go up , sometimes down, but not my very much.
One unfortunate day google rang, and told us , that our CPA should ne £2.50 and that we needed expert advice that they couldn't actually give us, we needed an expert.
To cut a long story short and after 5 very expert companies have messed with our account, we had varying results. One company left us with 2 leads per day at £10 a lead !!!! , one did better than that and setup a £3k adwords account using their expert advice, blew it all and said "times are tough" sorry !!!
The last company was actually the best, great guy , but I think we are two small for him, we have varying results, one day we get 30 leads, the next we get 10 , one day its £3.50 CPA , next its £7.00 . But on the whole very happy with his initial work
We just want a company that doesn't Lie to us , tells us straight , and can use their expertise to get us a CPA of £3.50 and help us get upto 50 leads a day, if not more.
Thanks
Hope that makes sense
Nick

Hi Nick,
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with smaller British companies but what I would recommend is to find a freelancer. I happen to be available for hire, but I don't recommend using a non-Brit native for creating adverts. I've written copy for English companies before and they weren't too pleased with my "less British" style of writing, haha
However, a freelancer isn't going to have another agenda other than making you happy and will more likely shoot straight with you.
Portent is a small business agency located in Seattle WA in the states, and I know they have a small business plan that is very reasonable for the level of spend you are at currently.

Spend is £5k pm , I guess that's low , will have a look at those tools thanks

We use a really good agency, but agencies can be expensive.
Have you considered getting some tools and doing things in-house? I like and have used both Marin Software and Acquisio. When I did consulting, I also evaluated Jumpfly (service) and Raven (tool). Never used them, but left the evaluation feeling favorable. It's tough to find a good PPC company when your spend is pretty low.

Justin ,
We just had one done by our last ppc company who unfortunately I think have bigger fish to fry than us.
the main page gets upto 20% conversion from ppc. on a good day and 10% on a bad day.

I wish I had the time to sit down and work out what the bloody hell is going on with adwords.
I shudda kept my phone off that day and just gone with the flowthank

Nick, do you have any screenshots of the landing pages you're using for the campaigns? You could probably improve your campaign performance quite a bit by focusing on the landing page optimization, even with no other changes to your AdWords account.
I'm sure some folks here would be willing to give some free feedback on landing page design. Sometimes it's good to get others' eyes on things.
I don't take on AdWords clients anymore, otherwise I'd bid.

Thanks Cole
Yes our industry is a hard one, we just feel like google sent us a curveball and since then our account has gone downhill.
Our conversion rate has been 20% , so quite good we feel. Although on some days is drops .It is a difficult one, and we are prepared to pay for someone to keep on top of this.
I don't mind a company saying NO , that's unreasonable, but spending months to prove this is soul destroying.ps. Bruce, I asked a simple question , we are not cheapskates , just want a company that can deliver what they say for a fair price and not rip people off , but in the end deliver !!

Hey Nick,
I hope my post is insightful, not demeaning.
You appear to have a specific (really low) CPA in mind while wanting 50 (high amount) leads a day. Without knowing your industry or target keywords, it's hard to comment on volume (leads) and CPA.
However, If you can generate 50 leads a day with certain keywords in PPC campaigns, then other people can too. If other people can, it drives up the price of your CPA. Thus, a low CPA and high number of leads is typically not reasonable.
I applaud you for tracking CPA and desiring a lot of leads. If you want 50 leads, assuming a 1% Click Through Rate and a 2% conversion on the clicks, you would need 2,500 clicks PER DAY and 250,000 impressions PER DAY. These are rough, industry standards but I hope this is insightful for what you're asking.
PS, Google doesn't call people trying to sale them. I second what Bruce said.
Thanks,

How to fix canonicalization so Google shows our company's website and not LinkedIn
I work for a company that builds and manages apartments. I would like to know how we can fix canonicalization. You see, we have been posting our company's blog articles not only on our company's website, but also on LinkedIn. When people search for one of our articles, Google is displaying the article for LinkedIn. Except, that's not what we want. I'd prefer for Google to display our company's website, to drive more traffic to our website and not LinkedIn. For instance I just Googled the title to one of our company's blog article "Great Leadership is about Influence not Authority." The first thing to show up was a link to see the article on LinkedIn. There was nothing referring to our company's website. Here is a link to the LinkedIn account where we have been posting the blogs: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/great-leadership-influence-authority-mike-kaeding/ Here is a link to the same article, but on our company's website: https://www.norhart.com/blog/2018/08/08/great-leadership-is-about-influence-not-authority/ Why is Google showing the article for Linkedin and not our Company's website? Might LinkedIn have canonicalization over Google? If so, how might we be able to reverse this and drive people to our company's blog instead. Any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

PPC Bid Strategies for Adwords PLA Campaign
I am managing a Google Adwords Product Listing Ads (PLA) campaign. The campaign is granular and specific in that each product is targeted via its corresponding ad groups. The structure of the campaign is : Campaign->500 Ad Groups (each ad group targeting a unique product selected by "product_id". I would like to get some ideas and feedback on bidding strategies. The granular structure of the campaign allows me to set a different Default Max CPC and a Max CPC for each unique product. I am unable to find within Adwords a column that shows what the competition is bidding. Is there a methodical procedure to extract this bidding information? I have recently enabled "Search Impression Share" and "Search Impression Lost (IS Rank)", but there is not enough data yet for those stats. What do the PPC experts have to say?

Shorter checkout form converts better? Or can it be harmful?
I've frequently read that the shorter the checkout form the better. My checkout form has the following fields: First name Last name Email Username Password Retype password Card number Card expiration date CVV code Billing street Billing city Billing state Billing zip Here's the thing. Since it's a web-app, I don't need the "billing address" as I'm not physically shipping them anything. Should I remove it? The no-brainer answer seems to be "yes", but I'm wondering if folks don't see any billing address fields, it may look suspicious. Conversions for having it and not don't seem to make much difference, so I suppose I'm looking for some tie-breaker opinions. The "password" and "retype password" fields could be eliminated by emailing the user's a system-generated password. But once again, could a user see this as odd or suspicious and then abandon? Even if I tell them I'll be emailing them a password? They could be sensitive thinking we'd email the wrong email address due to system error or their own typo. I could also eliminate the CVV and not validate against that. But once again, could a user seeing the CVV gone become wary? As much as I'd like to have "guest checkout' it's not feasible. The app is tied to a logged in account, which would also make eliminating the "username" impossible. Based on all the above, I could trim down the form considerably, but would I be doing more harm than good? I could A/B test it, but I don't believe I have a sufficient number of users to test against. Everything I buy, physical or online app, has an address field, so perhaps folks are accustomed to filling out this stuff and I should just keep it to align with user expectations? Thanks.

What company/person do you recommend for improving conversion rates on landing pages?
Hello! I'm looking for specific recommendations of companies with whom you have been "Tickled pink at fantastic conversion improvement results!" I'm the customer for this service. 🙂 I seek a page-level review of a specific area of my site. I'm looking for output of specific recommendations for improving conversion rates. I want to avoid paying for a "generic best practices report" with one or two ideas for my site sprinkled in. I realize that I will be called to complete proper input into the process. I am ready to do my share with the level of detail required. So, if you have an enthusiastic recommendation, please share. Details are appreciated. Most important, please tell me why this company made you very happy. I sincerely look forward to SEOMozzer input. Thank you kindly, Loren

How can I Monetize My Site with The Type of Traffic it Receives?
I was just in here yesterday asking a question, so I appreciate everyone's patience with this newbie! This is a totally different site that I have a question about so here goes: I have a site that has started to receive large amounts of traffic from an image search. My intention was to use Amazon for products based on my website theme. I haven't been getting traffic from my intended keywords. Now I rank #2 for an image search, loads of traffic! GREAT! But what next? These ppl. aren't looking to buy stuff, they just want the image. Fine, it is a public domain image. I thought of adding some more informational articles and using adsense to bring in some cash. Any opinions on the best way to go with this site? I only have 3 articles up so it could go in any direction from here. Thanks!!!

Can I track user journeys from a particular source?
We want to track users from a particular campaign to see what they do when they get to the site. The site generates revenue from clicks out so we want to be able to see whether visitors from a particular source click on multiple deals. i.e. enters from the source and then clicks on 3 different deals that take the user to other sites. Using GA, can I track this by implementing UTM on both the campaign links and outgoing links? Can I see exactly how many deals the average user is clicking on? As far as I know I can: Track visitors from the campaign Track overall clicks on deals Divide click outs by visitors But I can't track how many deals the visitors from campaign A clicked on... or can I?

Can Changing Meta Descriptions Negatively Impact SERP's?
I have just had a page start ranking well in key SERP's and I would like to change the meta description and add a price as we are extremely competative in that line. Could changing the meta description now a page is ranking negatively impact the SERP placing? Does anyone have any experience with this?
