To qualify or not to qualify
-
Hi,
I'm targeting a local business in Gainesville Fl. They provide acupuncture services. I'm wondering if I should choose "Acupuncture services in Gainesville" as my keyword for their acupuncture page or if I should omit the "Gainesville" qualifier and go with "Acupuncture services" since anyone located in Gainesville who performs a search for the the unqualified version will be shown primarily local results (including my business).
Thanks Mozzers!

Again, so much great feedback. Thank you!!!!
What I've opted for doing then is this:
<title>: Acupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br /><h1>: Acupuncture<br />Content: No mention of gainesville, just mention of word Acupuncture<br /><img> alt: Acupuncture treatment needles<br />Footer: Location info in schema markup<br />Citations: Working on them...</p> <p>That sound OK to you :)</p> <p>(BTW Here;s the page: http://gainesvilleholistichealthcare.com/treatment-options/acupuncture/ )</p> <p>One more related question (I promise!). Feel free to take a pass on this one ;)</p> <p>These guys offer a few other services in addition to Acupuncture. I'm very tempted to do simiilar <title>'s for all of them, swapping out the word Acupuncture for the various services. E.g.:</p> <p>Acupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br />Electroacupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br />Tui Na Massage Services in Gainesville Florida<br />...etc.</p> <p>Is that a horrible idea?</p> <p>Thanks soo much. </p> <p> </p></title>

Hi again
If it's in your domain and part of your company name, yes, I would use "Gainesville" less in your content and optimization. However, in your keyword research, still be mindful of location based searches, so you can optimize for those without the location. Does that make sense?
I am really worried that you are so focus on location based optimization when so many resources have been provided about local SEO - don't worry so much!
Hope this helps!

Hi Patrick!
Thanks so much for the info! One related question:
"If you're going to include "Gainesville" on your site, do not force it - mention it where it works" -- In their case, their company name includes the word gainesville (Gainesville Holistic Healthcare) and is also in their domain (GainesvilleHolisticHealthcare.Com). Should this fact make me use the term Gainesville even less in my KW choices?
Thanks again!

Hi there
You can really do either or, but I would go with "Acupuncture Services", build citations through Moz Local or Whitespark, and work on your local SEO. Reason being - search engine crawlers will be able to tell through your content and site structure that you are topically an acupuncture business. The reason being, it's really easy to get carried away with over optimization when it comes to location.
That being said, I would include your address in Gainesville on your website, make sure you utilize Google My Business, and verify your site. Don't forget to consult your Search Queries in Webmaster Tools to see how people are currently getting to your site. Are they using location based queries?
If you're going to include "Gainesville" on your site, do not force it - mention it where it works, but don't over do it. If you take the proper steps for a great local SEO foundation, you won't have to mention your location on your site in a keyword style fashion.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Domain keyword ranking
I used to use Searchmetrics (years ago) which enabled me to add in the domain name into their website, and it would provide all the keywords that rank for it. Does Moz do that do you know? Thanks

U.S. Vs. Canada search volume
How does Moz differentiate Canadian data vs. U.S. data? I'm particularly interested in search volume. Why is there such a big difference in volume (much less in Canada)? Is this due to population differences or are there other factors? For example, see the monthly volume for the keyword "Business resilience": U.S. = 360

Canada = 6 This seems like a huge difference!0 -
Inconsistent Keyword Search Volume & Difficulty Across Tools (e.g., Moz, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, Semrush)
Hi there, Moz Community! I'm reaching out for some guidance on keyword research discrepancies. I'm currently targeting the keyword "sui gas bill" for my blog, sngplbill, which focuses on information related to Sui gas bills. I've used several keyword research tools, including Moz, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, and Semrush, and each platform provides different search volume and keyword difficulty scores: Moz: No search volume data, Keyword Difficulty (KD) 24
Keyword Research | | Faizali.786
Google Keyword Planner: Search volume 100k-1M, Difficulty (Low)
Semrush: Search volume 90k, KD 31
Ahrefs: KD 1 (Very Easy)
These varying results are causing some confusion. Ideally, I'd like to understand which platform offers the most reliable data for search volume and keyword difficulty. Here are some additional details that might be helpful: My target location: Pakistan My Questions: What factors might contribute to these discrepancies in keyword data across different tools?
Considering my niche (Sui gas bill information in Pakistan), which platform would you recommend for the most accurate search volume and keyword difficulty estimates?
Are there any additional factors to consider beyond search volume and keyword difficulty when selecting keywords for content strategy?
Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Improving SEO for an e-commerce page with 1 product page
I'm trying to improve the SEO for an e-commerce store that I'm working for that sells custom car air fresheners where you select the shape of the item and then upload the photo. The site has been around for almost 10 years so has authority in the field and ranks number one for custom car air fresheners and other related high-traffic keywords. However, there is no blog, no social media and has 8 total pages: landing page, FAQ, contact, guidelines, shape/product (page that starts the ordering process with little text), scents, terms, and samples.

I'm struggling with how we rank higher for specific keywords that we are not number 1 with ok traffic (such as dog air freshener, custom air freshener for car with picture, custom photo car air freshener) and not affect the current keywords that we are ranking number one for. In addition, how do we rank higher for other keywords, if we don't have that many pages like a blog to create content? I was thinking of creating a blog to target more keywords, but I don't think there is enough relevant content to make. And I feel Google would find a blog about "top gifts for dad" or "top gifts for the holidays" not relevant. I was also thinking of adding more text to the shapes/product page which could be tailored towards a keyword. Maybe I could create another product page that goes into more detail about the air freshener with images, descriptions, and other use cases. On MOZ, the Domain Authority is 18 (really low), so I am thinking about working on getting backlinks from relevant sources with authority to improve our SEO. Or do we not mess with the text on the website since it works and not worry about the other keywords and focus on technical SEO items and backlinks to help with SEO? TLDR: How do you improve SEO for new keywords for an e-commerce business that doesn't have a lot of pages for content without affecting its number 1 ranking on other keywords?0 -

Myccompany.com I ve been asked to make a new website owned by the same company but specific to the multisites multitechnic maintenance activity , which has beeger clients with specific needs seo wise, is it better to call the seconde site myccompany-maintenance.com or to give a brand to the activity and call it let's say newcompany.com (by myccompany ) I would go for the second solution to avoid confusion in the the serp ? is it good to reuse the brand in domains ? Adding qualifiers to keywords?
I know that it's worth adding qualifiers to high value keywords to create long-tail variations which will later have the potential to rank well for the main keyword as well... My questions is, how important is it that the newly-formed keyword/phrase also be evaluated for search volume? E.g. "tips for job interviews" has a high search volume, but scores 72 in the Keyword Difficulty tool - quite high. I would therefore be tempted to create a "10 tips for job interviews" articles or something similar, yet THIS particular phrase is searched for <10 times per month... If there are not any easy-to-find qualifiers that also create a well-searched for keyword/phrase, is it still worth adding them?
