Improving SEO for an e-commerce page with 1 product page
-
I'm trying to improve the SEO for an e-commerce store that I'm working for that sells custom car air fresheners where you select the shape of the item and then upload the photo. The site has been around for almost 10 years so has authority in the field and ranks number one for custom car air fresheners and other related high-traffic keywords. However, there is no blog, no social media and has 8 total pages: landing page, FAQ, contact, guidelines, shape/product (page that starts the ordering process with little text), scents, terms, and samples.
I'm struggling with how we rank higher for specific keywords that we are not number 1 with ok traffic (such as dog air freshener, custom air freshener for car with picture, custom photo car air freshener) and not affect the current keywords that we are ranking number one for. In addition, how do we rank higher for other keywords, if we don't have that many pages like a blog to create content?I was thinking of creating a blog to target more keywords, but I don't think there is enough relevant content to make. And I feel Google would find a blog about "top gifts for dad" or "top gifts for the holidays" not relevant. I was also thinking of adding more text to the shapes/product page which could be tailored towards a keyword. Maybe I could create another product page that goes into more detail about the air freshener with images, descriptions, and other use cases. On MOZ, the Domain Authority is 18 (really low), so I am thinking about working on getting backlinks from relevant sources with authority to improve our SEO. Or do we not mess with the text on the website since it works and not worry about the other keywords and focus on technical SEO items and backlinks to help with SEO?
TLDR: How do you improve SEO for new keywords for an e-commerce business that doesn't have a lot of pages for content without affecting its number 1 ranking on other keywords?

I've been there, trying to boost visibility without a blog or much social media presence. What worked for me was indeed enhancing product pages with more targeted text and images. Not just stuffing keywords, but really fleshing out the value and uniqueness of each product, which it sounds like you're considering for the air freshener shapes and uses.
-
If you only have say less than 10 product pages in total for air freshers, it makes it much easier to build backlinks to these pages. you need to build quality backlinks.
-
@campionn I've read your post, and I know how challenging it can be to optimize SEO for a commercial website. A while ago, I had also started an online store. Basically, you should start by conducting thorough keyword research to identify relevant keywords that you want to target. Focus on long-tail keywords specific to your products, like "dog-shaped car air freshener" or "custom car air freshener with a photo."
-
To enhance the search engine optimization (SEO) of a single-product e-commerce page, it is important to optimize meta tags like title and description by using relevant keywords related to the product. Creating high-quality content around the product, including detailed descriptions, images, and customer reviews, can improve user engagement and search engine visibility. Moreover, building quality backlinks from reputable sources and optimizing site speed and mobile responsiveness can further improve the page's SEO performance.

I think you should start thinking from point of view of the Users/ Customers, who will visit the website and buy the products, don't think much about google, google will honour your content as Users/ Customers will find it useful.
.
Now to find relevant content you can start Communicating with the Target Audience in person or over social media. Here are some tips for creating relevant content for your blog:
-
Use a blog content calendar. This will help you plan out your blog posts in advance and ensure that you're covering a variety of topics that are relevant to your audience.
-
Read other blogs in your niche. This will help you stay up-to-date on the latest trends and topics, and it will also give you ideas for your own blog posts.
-
Use social media to listen to your audience. What are they talking about? What questions are they asking? Use this information to create blog posts that address their needs.
-
Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of content. In addition to traditional blog posts, you can also write listicles, how-to guides, case studies, and even interviews.
.
[To better understand how to work around with this, you can join the Digital Marketing Course]

@smmturk When a website receives a backlink from a high authority site, it can have several positive effects. Imagine your website is a student, and the high authority site is a respected teacher endorsing your work. Firstly, it boosts your site's credibility and trustworthiness in the eyes of search engines like Google. It's like getting a gold star on your report card. This can lead to improved search engine rankings, making it easier for people to find your site. Secondly, it can increase the traffic to your site as users from the high authority site may click through to explore your content. Basically, a backlink from a high authority site can enhance your website's reputation, visibility, and traffic, which are essential for online success.

Unsolved how to deal with bad keywords?
In the rush to get our account set up and running our team added about 250+ keywords. Many are really close duplicates or a close rephrasing of the same idea. I'd say almost 100 of them fit into this category. Does it make sense to just leave these and continue to add better keywords or should we do some purging? Help!

Unsolved Getting keywords to rank on new landing pages
I've built new landing pages for a website, and have loaded them with researched keywords in the content, alt image attributes and metas etc - but, after a number of crawls, the keywords are currently being matched to other existing web pages on the website. Does anyone have any advice on 'unlatching' these keywords from these pages, and instead getting them to match with pages that have been optimised for them? Many thanks!

How to Incorporate Awkward Keyword Phrases
Certain keywords are good choices for my website (high CTR, low difficulty, high volume), but they would be very awkward to use in my website content. For example, "therapist near me" is a popular search term, but it would be very strange for me to use those words in that order in my content (I am a therapist). Any thoughts about this are welcome.

Does a dynamic meta creation harmful for seo?
Hi guys another newbie question. I have this 20 categories and i want each of it to have a dynamic meta to save time rather than doing it manually. All the 20 categories are name of countries. Target keyword: rent a car (category) Lets say im browsing malaysia category. Meta Title: Find affordable rent a car in malaysia Meta Description: Find affordable rent a car in malaysia only here at website.com, call and book for a car now! Meta Keywords: rent a car in malaysia, malaysia rent a car, affordable rent a car malaysia, cheap cars in malaysia Now i move to another category lets say hongkong, the meta should change dynamically by changing just the name of the category Meta Title: Find affordable rent a car in hongkong Meta Description: Find affordable rent a car in hongkong only here at website.com, call and book for a car now! Meta Description: rent a car in hongkong, hongkong rent a car, affordable rent a car hongkong, cheap cars in hongkong and this goes to all other categories as well. Will it hurt my seo? i mean it could be a form of duplicate content or whatever. Also please correct me of doing my meta, if its correct especially in meta keywords i dont want keyword stuffing as a problem why im not ranking. Thanks a lot guys. Im still in the process of learning the basics 😄
