What Tools Should I Use To Investigate Damage to my website
-
I would like to know what tools I should use and how to investigate damage to my website in2town.co.uk I hired a person to do some work to my website but they damaged it. That person was on a freelance platform and was removed because of all the complaints made about them. They also put in backdoors on websites including mine and added content.
I also had a second problem where my content was being stolen.
My site always did well and had lots of keywords in the top five and ten, but now they are not even in the top 200. This happened in January and feb.
When I write unique articles, they are not showing in Google and need to find what the problem is and how to fix it. Can anyone please help

Repairing website damage requires a structured approach. Start by assessing any issues caused by the freelancer using tools like Wordfence for WordPress to detect backdoors or malicious changes. It’s possible Google penalized you for whatever work the freelancer did. You might need to disavow toxic links they built, for example, or address other issues. Tools such as Google Alerts can help identify content duplicates for action.
For future reference, regular monitoring helps prevent unauthorized changes and stay informed about industry trends. If you monitor a web page for changes, you will ensure no unauthorized adjustments are made on your site. There are several ways to approach this, and several tools you can use; some will notify you when your webpage changes. Monitoring competitors for content trends can also guide your strategy and reveal potential areas for improvement.

To investigate damage to your website, you should consider using tools like Google Search Console for monitoring search performance and detecting issues, website security scanners like Word fence to check for malware or vulnerabilities, and website auditing tools such as SEMrush or Screaming Frog for comprehensive analysis of technical SEO issues and website health.

This site ranks first for keywords - real estate photography melbourne and property photography melbourne.
Not sure why.
URL contains keywords and site is ok. But other sites with many links and higher DA rank lower. Why? Garry1 -

Unsolved Keyword Research for SWISS company
lets say I am currently doing research for Health: Therapeutic massages - alternative medicine but the research has to be conducted in German as it is for a Swiss website. I am currently filling in the matrix as provided by Moz Essentials course, would it be better to first research these semantic/funnel tops in english and then translate into german and finding keywords (+ creating the keyword lists) based upon the GERMAN language? What would anyone recommend?

Changing permalinks in new wordpress website using regex in 301s?
Hi there I am working on a website and we would like to change the permalinks from product-category (replacing with Shop) and product to buy. Currently there are nearly 400 products and multiple categories. Although the website has just been indexed wondering if we need to do 301's? if we did would like to use regex to manage so redirect would be as example: mydomain.com/sub-domain/product-category/ redirecting to to mydomain.com/sub-domain/shop/ (I know you do not need to put in the domain but as an example) - could anyone give me the regex for this? Same for products: mydomain.com/sub-domain/product/sample-product redirect to mydomain.com/sub-domain/buy/sample-product thanks in anticipation

How to properly change your website's address in Webmaster Tools?
Hi There,We've launched a new website and as part of the update have changed our domain name - now we need to tell Google of the changes: Both sites were verified in Webmaster Tools From the old site's gear icon, we chose "Change of address" As part of the "Change of address" checklist Google presented, we added 301 redirects to redirect the old domain to the new one But now that the 301 redirects are in place, Google can no longer verify the old site And because it can no longer verify the old site, Google won't let us complete the change of address form How do we tell Google of the change of address in this instance - and has anyone else encountered this?CheersBen

Links to Website Author
I'm a website developer, and in the past I have usually added a tiny backlink to the footer of my clients' websites like this: Website Design by MyCompanyName I understand that Google sees this as a low-quality backlink. However, I was wondering if such links can hurt my rankings. Does Penguin sees these links as spam? If so, should I add a rel="nofollow" to the links? Is there anything else I should change? I do not want to remove these links completely because they are good for marketing my business. I just want to minimize any negative SEO impact of the links. I appreciate your input. Thanks.
